📚 Book Review 📚

#prproduct

I want to thank NetGalley for approving me for an ARC of this book.

Heavenly Bodies is one of the books that has been on my radar for a while. I kept putting off reading it, just in case it didn't live up to the hype.

When Elara's kingdom is attacked by a god and her parents are killed, she finds herself being led to the one place she doesn't want to go, a rival kingdom. Here she is forced to help the king and be trained to kill the god that killed her parents.

Elara and Enzo were very much enemies to lovers. The pure hated radiated off them and it was very entertaining to see them learn more about each other.

Overall, this was a quick read that I couldn't put down. I'm so glad I left it longer to read because, after that ending, I'm going to need book two asap.

TL;DR: Absolutely loved! Beautiful and immersive world building and I can’t wait for the next book. A tiny bit trope-y but still a really strong read regardless!

Review:
Heavenly Bodies absolutely wrecked me emotionally and spiritually and I am desperately waiting on the edge of my seat for the next installment!

Imani Erriu’s world building is top tier and it’s been a while since I enjoyed being in a world so much, my only critique is that I would love more lore and to be able to see more of the world in the next two books. You’re completely immersed and could have happily stayed in this world for longer.

Elana and Lorenzo? I’m obsessed, just obsessed. I loved their relationship and watching it evolve. It was a tad trope-y at times, like typical fantasy cut-and-paste, which wasn’t needed at all as the story and characters were so strong without it so that was a but disappointing.

The ending? Absolutely cruel and wrecked me terribly but I can’t wait for me.

I wish there had been more angst and a slow-burn relationship as the enemies portion was a little short in the enemies to lovers romance.

I will recommend this over and over and well worth the read.

This one ended up being a mixed bag for me. It started off with potential, but the length and uneven pacing made it hard to stay fully invested. The second half especially felt messy, with too many plot threads competing for attention and twists that were easy to see coming. On top of that, it leaned heavily on familiar tropes and character types I’ve seen repeated in a lot of recent fantasy romances, so it didn’t feel particularly fresh. You can tell it’s a debut—there are plenty of ideas, just not all of them fit together smoothly. Overall, it was an okay read, but for me it lands around a 3-star experience.

I loved this book so much, I cannot wait for the next one. I found the premise really different and refreshing, it was deep without being too complex and the character development and relationships were chefs kisses. Just wonderful

ARC Review!

I'm beyond thankful to have received an ARC of this stunningly written book — and let me just say, I *adore* this author’s storytelling. Every page was dripping with tension, magic, and that aching, slow-burn romance that absolutely wrecks you in the best way.

From the first chapter, I was hooked. The worldbuilding is breathtaking — a universe ruled by merciless Star gods, kingdoms of Light and Night at odds, and a heroine cursed by fate itself. Elara is everything I love in a female lead: fierce, fragile, and hiding a power even she doesn't fully understand. And Prince Lorenzo? I am *feral* for him. The tension. The banter. The way he *falls first* and so hard. Their dynamic gave me chills — pure *enemies to lovers* perfection.

The prophecy, the betrayal, the touch-her-and-I’ll-kill-you energy… I was gasping, swooning, and highlighting like mad. Every twist was sharp, every emotion raw. The romance is a *true* slow burn — and it was so worth it.

If you love the wonderful fated mates trope, dark pasts, powerful magic, and characters who would burn the world down for each other, you need this book on your shelf. I can already tell it’s going to live in my head rent-free for a long time.

Just… wow. I’m in awe. And I already need book two.

A gorgeous gorgeous romantasy. This book had it all the characters, the romance, the world building and the pinning!!! The twists had me so hooked and ultimately this is a must read for a romantasy fan.

Heavenly Bodies puts the star in star-crossed lovers in a realm whose worldbuilding and lore around celestial and mythology centred around stars. I was impressed by the quality of the storytelling and the gorgeous intricacies in this romantasy. I was on the edge of my seat with each delicious twist and turn, which kept me guessing throughout the book, keeping my riveted eyes glued to the pages as I embarked on this breathtaking journey with rich, multifaceted characters.

Elara is an impulsive, feisty female protagonist with a morally grey streak and a strong protective urge for those she loves. Enzo is a sarcastic, irritating flirt who is used to getting his way and being a deadly tool of power, hiding a heart of gold under his playboy prince persona. They are as different as night and day, which makes their enemies-to-lovers dynamic come alive as their light and dark natures clash and spark with sizzling, snappy banter. Their personality differences fuel the loathing, and they get on each other’s nerves, masking the growing slow-burn attraction that is full of passionate heat, aching longing, and forbidden romance between this light and dark royal couple.

One of the best enemies to lovers I have read in a very long time. I’m counting down the days until Fallen Stars arrives so I can find out what happens after that soul-destroying ending that has left my heart in pieces on the floor..

Thank you for granting me the chance to receive a digital arc of this book.

A well executed Romantasy story revolving around astrology.
The author achieved a thoughtful and interesting world without making it gimmicky, which can be difficult with something like star signs/astrology. I would highly recommend this story for readers who enjoy yearning in their romance, the author mastered a slow-burn romance while giving us a quick paced plot and an explosive ending! Bring on book 2!!!

This is why I love reading romantasy. This book had everything I adored and more. So beautifully written and I can’t wait for book two!! 4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a classic romantasy book. It was for the most part enjoyable but fell into many tropes which made it a bit too predictable at times. However, it was still a good book and I will probably continue the series.

I am still recovering from that ending... 4.5 ⭐️

My oh my, where do I start? After a devastating disaster falls upon her kingdom, Princess Elara finds herself being kidnapped and taken into the enemy kingdom, where they plan to use her as a weapon against the Stars. We follow Elara as she fights to change her fate and reclaim her kingdom. This is almost impossible as she is forced to train under Helios's dazzling prince. They obviously despise each other, but all the best love stories start that way.

This was more romance driven, in my opinion, but the plot was just as entertaining and thrilling. I loved reading about Elara and Enzo and seeing their relationship gradually change as they both learned to lower their guard and trust in each other. Their friendship was beautiful, and the relationship that quickly blossomed from that was just as heartwarming. The plot itself was just so interesting. The magic each kingdom had was intriguing, and the way the other incorporated the stars in this book to act as gods in this universe was so well done. There was so much happening and I felt as though the author did a great job introducing you to the world, the lore, the magic, and the characters naturally as you worked your way through the book. There was plenty of action to keep me hooked, but I could tell a big plot twist was coming, and it did not disappoint.

If you love these tropes, then I would highly recommend this book.
- Enemies to lovers
- Unique magic system
- Prophecies
- Gods and Stars
- Tension and Banter
- Healing
- Found Family

This was a difficult book for me to rate because although I loved the premise of the story some areas just fell flat for me. I loved our fmc and we get glimpses of where the story is going but it just didn’t quite get there for me. I am intrigued enough however to continue the series.

Heavenly Bodies
Imani Erriu
“I defy the stars”
I don’t know what to think after that ending. The last few chapters were ramping up so fast, I was stressed reading this!
Keen to see where this goes next.

Unfortunately the feedback I am provided is based off the initial 21% of the book after making the decision to DNF as this was a difficult read for me. Thank you as always to Netgalley & Penguin for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinions & feedback.

This book has a good premise, I didn’t mind how it started off and think diving into action & information dumping isn’t bad as it is expected within a romantasy book. However, plainly speaking this just was not written well

A good book premise can only do so much if the writing isn’t good. The dialogue was awkward, it didn’t work well when reading conversations between people. It is fast paced but very descriptive and not in a good way. It isn’t expanding on the world building & story so much as it is telling us more than showing us. It just didn’t flow well or read well to me.

It felt like something that was originally fan fiction and didn’t have the opportunity or budget to be edited properly. Understandable arcs are not finished products of the books but this did not feel as polished as other arcs I have received in the past. It didn’t feel like it was beyond its first full draft.

Do not get me started on who I’m assuming the love interest is, because it is ridiculous how the author is expecting anyone to believe they will become enemies to lovers. I was not persuaded of any possibility of that during the initial 21% being introduced to the male love interest which usually will tell me that their love will be farfetched and thrown together with a unexpected quick show of empathy that he hasn’t shown any capacity for yet.

The part I was up to just felt silly, he is trying to scare her into telling him the truth (when she has 0 justification in sharing any of her actual thoughts or feelings to him- let alone the fact of why would she trust a stranger who has essentially been part of her kidnapping) but the way it was written was not suspenseful or detailed- rather it just explains the events and that it “convinced” her to tell him. I’m not convinced it was high stakes enough, which means the writing is at fault. Overall, I won’t be recommending this nor will I be finishing it & do hope that the published version was edited and polished further than the book I read. Apologies!

I absolutely devoured this book. I loved the characters, the world building, the romance, the plot.
The world building is amazing, the author has done a brilliant job of painting this beautiful setting. I love the celestial vibes. This and the romance are probably my favourite parts of the book. I think it’s been set up so well for the story to continue to develop in the next book. (Which i am desperately wanting to read!)

I cannot recommend this books enough. If you love enemies to lovers with a slow burn romance, but well written characters, do wait run to this book. Imani did an amazing job painting this world for you to dive right into it. and that ending... i cannot wait for number 2. A definite must read for all the fantasy lovers out there.

this is star-crossed lovers done right. their love is poetry and i was rooting for them from the very beginning. they make my heart ache and my chest quiver. i was fighting for air every time they were put up with a challenge. like i fr thought my autopsy would read: "death by fictional characters that can't find a moment of peace." reading the angst truly made me see stars.
