I massively enjoyed this book and finished it within a day. The story follows Elara, who is at the centre of a prophecy that fortells she will fall in love with the King of Stars and it will kill them both. When one descends to cause havoc in her kingdom, Elara is forced to flee to the neighbouring kingdom which is home to her enemies. Whilst there Elara is forced by the king to team up with Prince Enzo in order to hone her powers to become their kingdom’s weapon.

This story was so much fun and I devoured it so quickly. Elara is actually a really likable main character. She’s strong, confident and smart. She’s quick witted and is also quite level headed. She knows who and where to point her anger. She holds her own which I really appreciated. She’s a character that fights for what she believes in. I also really loved how even though she is such a strong character, she had her vulnerable moments. I particularly enjoyed how the author handled her grief. I think that was really well done.

Enzo, the male protagonist is just exactly what you want. He’s charming, flirty, sarcastic and protective. If you like the “who did this to you” trope then I’m sure you’re gonna love him. He’s fearless and surprisingly emotionally intelligent for a male protagonist in a romantasy book. He knows when to push and when to be comforting. The amount of times this man had me giggling kicking my feet. I’m obsessed. He’s also so down bad for Elara it’s embarrassing.

This book definitely focuses more on the romance than on the plot which isn’t a bad thing because the romance is well done. I wouldn’t say it’s a slow burn at all but i did appreciate how well the tension was done. It was actually refreshing to see how good at communicating Elara and Enzo are. There were quite a few moments that could have lead to miscommunication but they are so open and honest and actually talk through their feelings that the trope was avoided. I also just loved their banter and little snipes at each other. They’ve got a great push and pull.
The side characters were also really likable. I love Leo and I need more of him asap.

As for the plot, I think it has a good base. You’re not overloaded with lore on this world but you have enough to understand it. I do think sometimes the pacing was a little off and the last part of the book, the plot kind of goes a little wayward but not enough to ruin my experience. The idea of stars and celestials and heavenly beings is so much fun in books and I really love how the author incorporated it in this book. The twists and turns towards the end did surprise me at times and the way it ends has me on the edge of my seat waiting for more.

Overall, a really enjoyable book and I can’t wait to read the sequel.

This book is simply divine!

Right from the get go you are thrown into this world and it's just back to back action.

The charcters are incredibly well rounded and you can easy connect to them including the side characters.

The story flows amazingly and I honestly cannot think of a single bad thing to say about this book. It was amazing start to front.

Okay, so I did enjoy this. But I really struggled with the pacing of the book, which is why I have given it a 3⭐️ rating.

This book really does give us star crossed lovers, and the banter was quite lovely. However I did find the slow burn too push and pull, and the mid section just felt like it dragged a little bit too much for my liking.

I liked how feisty and quick witted Elara is, and coupled with the arrogant and confident Enzo, read for a lovely romance. But I just wished that the romance happened a little earlier, or that there was more tension before the romance.

Even though I had problems with the pacing of this book, the story was enough to keep me going, and I will probably read the second one too.

I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and honestly review an advanced reader’s copy of this book.

A lot of people have been saying that this is perfect for fans of ACOTAR and Zodiac Academy! And that’s right on the money. If you loved those vibes, this series will be your new obsession.

While I won’t pick up the sequels; I really do think if you love romantasy, you should pick this one up. I loved how there was no miscommunication between the characters, despite starting as actual enemies there was a lot of honesty between them as the plot unfolded.

This has strong characters, and there are a lot (maybe too many) tropes in this story; to the point where the pacing does suffer a bit.

Overall, this is about to be the new powerhouse of the romantasy girlies!

OMG what on earth happened in that book. That was a WILD ride like I am not even over that epic ending.

If you want a fast paced, magical, swoony, crazy epic story this is the one! This book is filled with so many tender moments and then BAM something crazy happens.

Please send Imani my therapy bill.

This is a really good start to a romantasy series. I would have loved a little more insight into the world building but the romance was great and the slow burn and tension I loved it!!

Whoa, what a ride.

Let's start with the positives - I absolutely loved the world with the gods and stars, the powers. It could have been expanded on a little more, but it was good overall.

And the romance?! I loved it. So. Much.
This is enemies to lovers - although they'd only just met, they had a valid reason for hating each other. There's more to the relationship, but that's revealed much later and a major plot point, which I will not be spoiling.

It felt like I was intruding on incredibly intimate moments, such wonderful instances of vulnerable conversations and developing attraction. And so many interrupted spicy moments, that drove me absolutely crazy in the best way.

But I was left with so many questions. Why did Idris want to kill Ariete? I understand Elara's motives, but not the Helios ruler.

What was the point of the prophecy? And why was there so much fake/pointless death?

There was so much action towards the end, but I feel like everything outside of the romance was so weak and not developed enough. There was potential for a lot of the things that happened to have had a much bigger emotional impact than they did, simply because they were so brief and over incredibly quickly. This is also definitely the kind of book where the author has included a few too many tropes, which contribute nothing useful to the overall story.

I am definitely interested to see where the story goes in the next book, but I do hope it doesn't rely so heavily on the romance alone.

Heavenly Bodies brings a fresh take on the romantasy genre. The backdrop of Celestial Gods and Stars makes for a beautiful world full of lore and mystery.
I would say it’s a romance heavy plot, yes there are prophecies and political manoeuvres, but these are very much secondary to the epic enemies to lovers story. The romance is burning the world type and Enzo as a MMC is now a favourite of mine.
At times the book can feel slightly troupe heavy and I didn’t like the changing of the spelling for some words, such as dragun. The world is unique on its own without these word changes that just would annoy me in the end.
Speaking of the end, I found the pacing suddenly became intense and so much happened, which I absolutely loved! The ending definitely makes me NEED to read the next book. Although I would have read it purely for Enzo. Five stars for the romance and three stars for the rest - so overall four stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC. This is a voluntary review of my own thoughts.

Oh my god I loved this

10000% one of my new enemies to lovers faves

3.75 stars but book two will determine if this is higher I think

It was a 5 star read then. Now, it's a **5 star** read. I love Imani Erriu's storytelling, and Heavenly Bodies was one of my favourite romantasies, so to revisit it was a joy. Same gorgeous story, characters, world, and magic that I fell in love with the first time I picked it up as an indie book, just **more**. Going trad has definitely enriched this. About 100 pages have been cut, and the pace is snappier as a result, the tension's thicker, and yet somehow, there's even more substance crafted into the characters, world, and mythology. I didn't think it could get better, but it did.

Now for the painful (and exciting) wait for Fallen Stars. And Heavenly Bodies hasn't even been officially published yet! 😭

Thank you so much to Penguin and NetGalley for the arc.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. I thought this was a decent read. I would not say there is anything ground breaking to it, and I generally prefer there to be more on the lore/worldbuilding and plot side of the equation, however it is a decent read that I am sure most romantasy fans will enjoy

I requested this as an opportunity to reread this wonderful book. I originally read it a while ago and gave it 5 stars, and I can safely say I stand by my rating.

Any book that incorporates magic, astronomy, gods and strong powerful female characters is a massive yes for me. The romance is sublime, it really is the OG romantasy if you’re looking to get into the subgenre.

It was good, certain parts were great and certain points left me disappointed. The banter was fun, but it felt like a lot was just shoved in there so the pacing was a bit off. It also felt like a checklist of tropes.

To be honest, I went into this book a little blind and I think that made this read so much more enjoyable! I ended up finishing this book quite quickly and I feel that in general I really liked it.

We follow Elara who’s just been kidnapped by the enemy neighbouring kingdom, trying to unravel her locked powers and navigating loss, fears and prophecies - She is fated to fall in love with a Star and it will destroyed them both. However things are not what they seem to be and the Stars can be quite deceitful, so Elara will need to ally even with her sworn enemies - specially Prince Enzo - if they are to take revenge and her kingdom back! Little problem? She’s prophetic to fall for a Star, so why is her heart beating for Prince Enzo?

I quite enjoyed the Imani’s writing and I’m excited to see what’s next for Elara and Enzo - I mean, that was quite the cliff hanger…! If you enjoy Romantasies then you’re very likely going to be enjoying Heavenly Bodies!

Many thanks to the publisher for the early copy! All reviews are my own 🫶🏻

I thought this was a standalone! And it should’ve been 😭 If 50 odd pages had been taken from the middle and added on to the end this book could’ve been nicely wrapped up and the story ended.

I loved Elara and Enzo - the whole “I hate you but fancy you, oh now I love you” got old fast, but I thought they were written quite well and Enzo was obsessed with Elara which I loved. I just found them a bit whiny at times.

The side characters could’ve been explored so much more. Leo was great, I could tell, we just needed more of him.

I enjoyed this for what it was, but definitely won’t continue the series.

All I have to say to this book is WOW! I’m not surprised that it got picked up by a publisher because it’s a phenomenal read.

The book was fast-paced, the world building and magic system was unique and of course it kept my interest throughout. THE PLOT TWISTS THOUGH! My heart literally hurt throughout this book. It’s honestly up there one of my favourite reads of this year!

I loved Elara and Enzo so, so much. Enzo was the perfect possessive, morally grey, I would burn the world down for you MMC and I adored him. Elara’s character development was great as well.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this when it’s out at the end of November. Roll on book 2’s release bc I cannot wait!

Thank you to NetGalley for an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Inject this book directly into my veins.

It literally took two chapters for me to be completely hooked on this to the point that I got seriously mad that I had to do things like work, eat and sleep rather than devour every single page.

The vibes of this book are IMMACULATE. A non-annoying main character, multi-layered plot, great relationship, excellent spice and a twist that I did not see coming. This is what I want from my romantasy.

I am so glad that this book is now being traditionally published and I have no regrets that I have two special editions coming. I'm about to make this series my entire personality and I'm not sorry in the slightest.

I didn't know what to expect going into this book but I absolutely loved it. It felt so original and unique.

This book has a really original concept around the Gods being based on the stars. It was really interesting and made for good world building. It felt distinct compared to a lot of the other romantasy books I read.

The book was very fast-paced. It begins right in the action, which did make it a little confusing at first. However, after the first few chapters I settled into the book and it was just brilliant from then on. It kept me gripped and constantly wanting to read it.

The book is definitely a slow burn. However, this gives the enemies to lovers trope time to build realistically. The relationship between Elara and Enzo is full of chemistry and banter.

The minor characters in the story are also well developed. It has elements of found family, which is something I always enjoy.

This book ends on a massive cliffhanger. I am desperate to read the next book but it won't be released until September 2025, so I'm in for a bit of a wait.

I would highly recommend this book to romantasy fans. It was an absolutely brilliant read. This book will be released on 28th November so make sure you check it out.

Thanks to NetGalley, Imani Erriu, Penguin General UK and Viking for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I think this book is perfect for the people who love a romance story and want to get into something with a bit of fantasy. The world building is easy, the premise of the book easy to follow and the MCs were likeable.

Elara and Enzo had a really gorgeous love story and really gave off ‘in every lifetime’ vibes despite their kingdoms being enemies. I wouldn’t say they’re particularly enemies to lovers BUT his father did send his guard to kidnap her so they weren’t friends 😂.

The magic system felt original and was easy to understand. I liked the lessons in magic and the gradual growth Elara had throughout.

The pacing of the plot sometimes felt a little slow and at odds with the storyline. She’s being hunted but I didn’t feel any suspense or feeling of urgency from the characters. The last 20% of the book had insane plot twist that I never saw coming and set up for the next book in a really positive way. Whilst it sounds very emotional, Elara is in a different mindset and the plots moved in way I think will propel the story forward.
I think the rest of the series will be good!

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the copy for review.

I have never read a netgalley book so quickly before. Only took me 2 days to finish this book as I was hooked from the first chapter. It was just what I needed in a Romantasy book. Great writing, loved the plot line and loved the characters. Great for throne of glass and a court of Thorns and Roses fans

I will definitely be reading the 2nd book.
