I love Lynn Painter’s books, I’ve read most of them in this one made me want to reread them all again. I love that Lynn Painter can write the sweetest YA book, while also writing a cute and spicy adult romance.

This book had one of the most adorable meet cutes I’ve ever read. I loved Izzy and Blake’s banter throughout the book. The whole idea of how to actually be friends was cute but I think we all know that was gonna be a tough one.

There are still a few books I haven’t read by her yet, and I think that needs to change ASAP!

Accidentally Amy took me back to my corporate office days and kickstarting my mornings at Starbucks. After being mistakenly called Amy the FMC Izzy ran with it and ran into a hot man with her coffee, Blake Phillips. What Izzy doesn't realize until she's in orientation at her new company is her new boss is Blake. Instead of explaining that her name is not Amy she decides that her and Blake will become best friends instead. There's some hilarious text conversations, cute cats (including a blind one), lots of good banter between the two MCs, and both Izzy and Blake bring the steam. This is the perfect spicy romcom and a good pick when creating your fall tbr.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the gifted eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was annoyed by the amount of times she said “gawd” but other than that this was such a cute fast read. I have read other Lynn Painter books before and this is another one I will add as a great read. I enjoyed the duo POV and how they both had so much in common and chemistry. Their banter was so great and helped with the way they were falling for each other. I appreciated that they did not take their work dynamic lightly when they were debating on whether it was smart for them to date.

I've said it before and I'm going to probably keep saying it with every single Lynn Painter book I read - she is a GENUIS and hilarious. Accidentally Amy is nothing short of the definition of a rom-com. It was absolutely hilarious, deliciously steamy, swoony and a little sweet.

I am always a sucker for a disastrous meet up cute and this one was so perfect and a great set up for the book. "Amy"/ Isabelle starts her new job and it's the hottie from the coffee shop who is now her new boss. They form a friendship and starts off some amazing banter in their emails and text exchange. Love that Blake is grumpy but truly a sweetheart.

⤿ Thank you to Berkley Romance for the arc through netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I had never read a Lynn Painter book before this one, her other books are bound to be different becuase they're ya and this is adult but this has me very excited to venture that way anyway. at the beginning of this book it's said this was originally just released in small chapters to her newsletter sign-ups, but she eventually wanted to combine them into a full story later. due to that, i wasn't expecting this to be as cohesive as it was. while the plot line i don't think was anything particularly stellar or new, this book was short and sweet and exactly what i needed at the time.

both characters, izzy and blake were interesting characters themselves, and while their attraction and love story was a bit faster than i usually like it (but considering it was a shorter book, makes sense) but i did enjoy their chemistry! i thought they were funny together and it was good to see couples being funny and their true selves and not trying to pretend for too long. izzy was also very relatable and quirky, in some good and funny ways, and it made the story all the more enjoyable for me! i can't believe i read it so fast, becuase i really wanted to savor it, but i also really wanted to just keep reading, and what a fun book to be entertained by!

Lynn Painter never disappoints. Izzy and Blake's banter was really cute and had me laughing out loud. I thought Blake overreacted a bit but his character was still super lovable!

this was interesting. i thought it was cute, but it's heavy with banter. it's almost all banter and then a little bit of plot. i enjoyed reading the banter (of course i'm a sucker), but i wanted a little more sustenance.

also, what the hell was that beginning? it was so unnecessary with him being SO mad she lied and took a drink. it was so silly and didn't end up going anywhere for more than a few chapters. i was kind of disappointed they didn't stay frosty to each other for a little longer so that it made more sense.

if you like a lot of banter & no third act break up, this might be up your alley

thank you to netgalley & Berkeley pub for the copy of my ebook!

Grateful to Netgalley for the Arc in exchange for my honest review.
This is a cute romantic story based on first meet cute incident where the FMC Izzy is waiting for her order at Starbucks and the Barista calls for Amy 3 times, but when there is no response, Izzy gets the drink because she was in a rush for her first day at her new job. But she runs into a guy and accidentally drops the coffee on him not knowing he is the VP at her new job. He thinks her name is Amy and she doesn’t correct him. When he finds out about it, he gets very upset which in my opinion was a bit over the top.
While I do like this idea for a cute romance story, this was a bit too Gen-Z coded for me. Like the use of word ‘Gawwwwd’ instantly gave me the ick. You could say it was a me problem but I just couldn’t ignore such elements. FMC was a little cheesy as well as a bit of pick me. I just couldn’t get past her annoying one-liners like “You just had to touch me” instant ick. So I did not enjoy it. I will just leave it at that.

I love the idea of a coffee cup name mix up. I don’t love outright lying in romance, but I like the inner angst it can cause. Do I tell him, when do I tell him, how do I justify it. I loved the characters personalities and banter. It had cheese, but it was expected and still stinkin cute.

Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter is a delightful romantic comedy full of sharp wit and irresistible charm. The story’s quirky premise and lovable characters make it a fast-paced, feel-good read. Painter’s talent for crafting snappy dialogue and genuine chemistry shines throughout the book. The slow-burn romance is perfectly balanced with humor and heart, creating a story that's hard to put down. It’s a must-read for fans of smart, modern rom-coms.

When Izzy swipes a PSL, karma returns the favour immediately by crashing her into Blake and spilling her stolen coffee. A series of miscommunication leads to several meet-cutes for a pair of individuals who just click... if only they didn't work together.

There is so much witty banter between the characters in this novel. It was a light read that made me laugh out loud.

A meet cute, collision and a lie launch a cozy romance between Izzy and Blake; 2 cat lovers (haters) who are in close proximity via work and are subsequently drawn together despite all the reasons they shouldn’t be… Really clever action sequence that sparks their physical and emotional “will they or won’t they romance. Fresh, cozy, funny and terrific banter makes this read a 5 star.

Silly and cutesy rom com which is such a great palate cleanser! However, some things the FMC did simply were too, cringe?

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
Thank you Berkley for sending me a copy of this book.

I’m trying to read through my backlist and thought a romance filled with banter would be a fun read for me! Unfortunately, I got bored pretty quickly and found myself skimming through the pages. I wasn’t very invested in the characters or their relationship moving forward, so I put this one down.

If you were a fan of this when it was just part of a newsletter you should still give this one a read— you’ll probably love it due to the connection!

This book is so lighthearted and easy read, perfect for when you need a break from heavier plots. While the overall storyline follows a fairly typical rom-com trajectory, the strength lies in the interactions between Izzy and Blake and the entertaining secondary characters. If you enjoy workplace romances with plenty of humor, pop culture references, and a touch of spice this book is for you!

I couldn't get through this book fast enough. It was warm and swoony and I couldn't get enough! I wanted to hurry through this book but in the same breath I wanted to take it slow to make the story last longer. Blake and Iz FOREVER! This story is everything!

I thought the premise of Accidentally Amy was cute in that Izzy is running late to work on her first day of a new job, so she takes someone else's PSL. She spills it on another patron who turns out to be her boss, Blake. I have enjoyed some of Lynn Painter's other books so I thought I'd like this one. Unfortunately our heroine has a major case of "not like other girls" syndrome which is a real turn off for me. The writing was quite cringy as well. "Omigawddd", "Mr. Chest", etc. For a YA romance that'd be more typical, but for an adult romance I do expect the bar to be a bit higher.
