I need the full book NOW. I am desperate please.
Eliza Clark has rocketed to the top of my “authors to look for” list. I want everything she writes.

I've read the sampler story, it's interesting and I'd try more of Eliza Clark's work, but I was left feeling really confused.

I really enjoyed the short story Little Chitaly. It was in such an interesting format, made up solely of restaurant reviews, but it still managed to tell such an intriguing, bizarre story that I wanted to know more about in a short space of time. This was a great sampler that gave me a taste of the quirkiness to come in this short story collection and I had a great time reading it.

So being a sampler there was just one story. If this is an indication of the rest of the book I'll definitely be buying it.
The Shadow Over Little Chitaly is a story in the form of reviews regarding a Chinese/Italian fusion takeaway. It was absolutely hilarious. Customers receiving the most bizarre combinations of food from a take away hundreds of miles away. Hannah is the only repeat reviewer and she even goes looking for the mysterious premises.
Genius. Brilliant. Loved it. Definitely going on my Tp Buy list.
Thankyou Netgalley and Faber & Faber for the advance review copy.

I love Eliza Clark and will most definitely be purchasing this book when it comes out to read all of the short stories.

I am really intrigued to read the whole book. I like the style of this so far and would love to get into it.

A very apt opening that shows how our generation has been induced by technology, the need to share, conspiracy theories, and of course weird food trends.
Story one is a combination of reviews posted about a takeaway that is half Chinese and half Italian with strange speciality dishes. Weirdly, it delivers unbelievably fast to all parts of the UK.
The reviews range from annoyed, derivative, classic British appreciation and ignorance, and reoccurring intrigued customers.
I did not realise this was a sampler when I received the arc, however this is a promising start. I wonder if there will be a theme throughout!
Sampler gifted by NetGalley.

I was lucky enough to receive an Advanced Readers Copy of "The Shadow Over Little Chitaly," one of the short stories in Eliza's collection. I LOVED it! The story is told in an unusual way, which I imagine is not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If this is an example of the quality of the collection, then I cannot wait to read the rest.
5/5 stars!
Thanks to NetGalley and Faber for the ARC

Such a weird little short story sampler! However, Eliza is a queen and I’ll read anything she writes, including mysterious restaurant reviews. She’s always Hungry and I’m very hungry for more! Cant wait for the release.

Never read Eliza Clark but have been meaning to for a while. This short story has risen her to the top of my to-read-pile. What a weird and bizarre yet funny little short story. Delightful

Thank you faber for providing me a sneak peek into Eliza Clarks latest release, the short story 'the shadow over little chitaly'. this book jumps right into it, made up entirely of reviews of a restaurant that may or may not exist? the reviews start off normal and quickly reveals the surreal and absurd nature and existence of this mysterious restaurant. at first i was quite confused, but i soon enough become thoroughly intrigued and the ambiguity that alludes to something more sinister. can't wait to read the full collection once the novel is released!

Great sampler and kept me very intrigued for more! I cannot wait to pick up a copy of the full collection.

Give me more! I can't wait to read the full copy of this book. The teaser wasn't enough!
Clark is capable of eliciting emotions within me that I didn't think were there. There's always something deeply unsettling, yet oddly healing and relatable about her texts.

A sampler that made me wish I could read the rest of the book. Excellent style of writing and storytelling.
Highly recommended.

This was a very small sample so difficult to apply to the whole book. I was very intrigued by what I read though! I'm looking forward to the whole collection

Thanks for the sample NetGalley and Eliza Clark.
The cover is intriguing and it made me want to read it immediately
In only 20 pages Eliza Clark has reaffirmed to me that she is one of the most original and interesting authors I have read. I would have loved to read her full collection, since it would have given some more context to the sample. As others have mentioned it’s hard to give an honest review for a book, when you’ve only read a 20 pages sample.
And whilst it was definitely fascinating and had me hooked, I definitely wanted more from it in regards to the story.

In 20 pages of this sampler Eliza Clark has reaffirmed to me for the third time that she is one of the most original, funny and slightly disturbing authors writing in the UK today. I can't wait to read the whole collection and my only criticism is that I wish this sampler gave more to read, as its quite hard to honestly rate a book without the full text.

I'm hungry for more! So excited that Clark is doing events around the UK for the release of this collection. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Not really sure what I just read and the writing made my brain hurt. As someone who hasn't yet but wants to read something by Eliza Clark, this probably wasn't the best sample, but I'm still slightly intrigued??

Fan of Boy Parts and just loved this sample of She's Always Hungry, not sure what was going on tbh but very entertaining
