Summer Tease is the fourth book in the Falling for Summer series, however, it absolutely can be read as a stand alone.

Read if you like:
* Enemies to Lovers
* Feuding Families
* Small Island Setting
* Protective MMC
* Elderly Shenanigans

I loved this book (and this whole series)! Summer Tease is single POV, told only from Gemma's perspective, but the author did such an amazing job of showing us who Beau is that it almost felt as if we were getting his POV as well.

I love Beau. He's charming, sweet, protective, loyal, genuine, and kind to everyone. The way he uses his charm and easy going personality to diffuse tense situations is so endearing and impressive. Watching him carefully deconstruct Gemma's walls is heart melting.

Gemma has thick walls up from past hurts and she does not want to let them down. I appreciate the pace at which she thawed toward both Beau and Sunset Harbor, it felt natural and realistic. I loved seeing the weight lifting from her shoulders as she opened up.

There are so many memorable moments in this book. Some of my favorites are the citizen's arrest, the bird feeder, Gram's shenanigans, and the nicknames (two of my favorite nicknames I've seen used)!

I was able to listen to the audiobook and the narration was very well done. The narrator did a fantastic job of differentiating the voices. She handled narrating both male and female as well as older and younger voices very well. The pacing and emotion were also spot on. I would definitely recommend the audiobook!

This is a fun small town, rivals to lovers romance that gives Hatfields and McCoy vibes on an island off of Florida! The banter was fantastic. This is my favorite book of the series so far. Loved every moment.

I'm enjoying the Falling for Summer series. Gemma comes back to town to help sell her Grandma's family home to help pay for her retirement home bills. Gemma runs into Beau, the part time police officer who happens to be a part of her family's rival family. Beau is an absolute sweetheart with a dog. Cute summer read. Low spice 0.5/5.

I have read four books from this series and book by book, it is simply getting better and better.
I absolutely the love the combination of tropes used in this book as these are few of my absolute favourite tropes.
The narration was smooth and easy breezy. This series has the beautiful vibe literally I felt as if I am actually a part of this book series.
The characters are charming and well written plus the plotline is beautifully penned down. I had a great time reading this book. So, I am super excited for the next book now.

Another book in the Falling for Summer series, Summer Tease was a cute, sweet and fun listen with very likable characters. I loved being back in Sunset Harbor and rooting for Gemma and Beau’s long-time family feud and enemies-to-lovers relationship. And Gemma's sassy Grams was absolute perfection. The narration was well done, but I did miss the dual narration from some of the other books in the series.

Cosy and low angst romance

📚 small town
📚 secret best-selling author
📚 next door neighbours
📚 childhood secret crush

🚫 clean romance

“I’m the recent social media sensation, Sunny Palmer…as in the combination of Tristan’s nickname for me and his last name”

|Thoughts|
After reading Book 1 in the Falling For Summer series, this was the story I was most excited to pick up next. Loved how Capri’s secret as a successful author played out during her time on the island. And even more that the first book in her successful series was about her fictionalised romance with her childhood crush (who now wants to be friends).

“You can’t ask about my reason for avoiding the island. But I’ll tell you when I’m ready”

Perfect build up and reveal of her as the popular author. Especially the final reveal to Tristan.

“Heath really undersold the level of your crush”

These stories are low angst, sweet and just feels like reading a well written hallmark movie (see clean romance).

This is book 4 in the Falling for Summer interconnected series. Events and characters do cross over with other books in the series. But each can also be read as a standalone.

Thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media & the author for an arch in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

4.5/5 (rounded up)

This series just makes me happy. I’ve always liked Beau in his appearances in other books of this series, and was excited to hear his story. I loved the family rivalry between the Palmers and the Sawyer’s, it gave Romeo and Juliet vibes. Gemma aka Gigi was a fun character too, and absolutely loved her Gram 😂 definitely recommend

If you've been reading the Falling for Summer series, then you're familiar with Beau Palmer. Honestly, in the previous books, he just seemed like a Barney Fife cop with nothing much to offer. Boy did this book change my mind!

Summer Tease made me fall in love with Beau, who apparently has a great sense of humor on top of being quite attractive. And who doesn't love a sense of humor? Not to mention a guy in uniform.

Gemma wasn't my favorite character for quite a bit of the book, but she grew on me more by the end. She just held such a grudge, and seemed a little petty.

But a happy ending makes everything right.

Audiobook review: the narrator did a pretty good job. I think I kept waiting for a dual POV, and this book wasn't written that way. So with each chapter, I wondered why she kept reading in Gemma's voice. 😂

Falling for Summer books have been so fun and I was excited to read this one. It was definitely a cute read. Summer Tease is written by Martha Keyes and it is the fourth book in the multiple author Falling for Summer series.
It took me a little bit to get into this book but I ended up enjoying it. I was reading it first but then I got the audiobook. The audiobook definitely kept my attention and it sucked me back into the book. I really liked the narrator, she was great at really portraying Gemma.
Beau and Gemma definitely had their issues to deal with, their families had history. We only get to really see Gemma’s POV since it is a single POV but you still learn a little about Beau. Gemma had to grow on me but I grew to understand her. She was just trying to protect herself and figure out life.
The romance was sweet. I like how Beau and Gemma became sorta friends first. Their relationship was fun to read about especially as they spent time together and tried to help Gemma’s grandmother. It was also interesting to read about the town from Gemma’s point of view.
I would definitely recommend the book and audiobook! I loved the narrator and the story was engaging. Summer Tease is a summer must read! Summer Tease is a closed door romantic comedy.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

Loved this one! Martha has captured the best summer vibes along with the feuding families and the loathing to loving. I loved the humour and swooniness, along with the depth of emotion. I loved Gemma and Beau’s relationship. Beau is the sunniest of all golden retrievers. And Grams was just icing on the cake. I always love a sassy old Grandma and she was spot on. Highly
Recommend to add to your summer reading list!

You guys! This series is winning. Every single book has been fantastic, and with Martha’s book, we’re officially at 4 for 4. The single POV, feuding families, enemies to lovers atmosphere kept me so invested. I couldn’t put it down, because I was so anxious to know what Beau was thinking! And what would happen for Gemma.
I really loved Gemma’s character arc in this one. She really came full circle and I loved watching that journey.
Also Beau! Talk about good book boyfriend material! Someone pass the fan, because it’s hot in here! I am honestly not sure I’ve read many Law Enforcement romances (if you have any recs, let me know!), but if all LEOs are as hot as Beau, sign me up! I loved his supportive, patient nature, and how much he smiled and helped people. His personality is amazing.
Other things I loved:
Cameos from people I know and love
Sunset Harbor. I have always been squarely in mountains camp, but this book might be converting me!
Grams’ golf cart!
The tight ponytail and heels vs the more casual outfits
Victoria. She’s feisty and fierce and cracked me up!
All of Grams’ shenanigans
Stories about the dock
Attic memories
Getting caught by Beau with camera on the video chat
Throwing rocks at the window
The ice cream parlor
All the visits at the retirement home
Xena
Miss Miami (iYKYK)
The nicknames. I just love nicknames in romances.
That silly bird feeder
The canal swim
The wedding dance
Allll the kisses!
Allllllll the kisses!
The book is seriously, amazingly good. So, so good! If you love kissing books and some good tension, pick this one up. It’s basically guaranteed to make you happy!
PS—don’t mind this silly ditty that keep me running through my head about this book. It’s silly, but I just have to put it here. Enjoy. :)
Beau and Gemma sitting in the tree. Fire, and smiles, and oooh wee! First comes hate; then like will start; then comes Grams in her crazy gold cart.
Haha! Okay, I’m done being silly. Just go read the book. It’s way better than my terrible rhymes.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: This narrator was spot on for Gemma. I loved the way she read, and her characterization, and would listen to her narrations again.

⭐️ 5/5. The 4th book in the Falling for Summer series is my favorite so far! There’s a hot part-time police officer who can charm anyone into a good mood and work-aholic boss babe who is reevaluating life’s priorities. Major golden retriever 🐶 and black cat 🐈‍⬛ energy. The FMC is battling resentment towards her childhood island home and attraction towards the grandson of her family’s mortal enemy. Plus, there’s some very sassy grandmas at the local retirement home in the mix. I definitely recommend this read!

The Falling for Summer series has been so much fun to read! These are 7 interconnected stand-alones by 7 different authors. I love how each author is putting their own spin on this adorable community of Sunset Harbor and the characters that make it their home.

Summer Tease, by Martha Keyes, was a blast to read! It was a light-hearted, enemies to lovers story filled with family feuds and sweet, heart-felt moments.
The way Beaux pursued Gemma was so cute, I mean who doesn’t love when an MMC falls first and so hard?!? I thought their silly banter and pranks were hilarious.
I also adored the sweet relationship between Gemma and her grandma. She was a HOOT and her shenanigans had me giggling.
I loved seeing the island come together to show their support and love for the Sawyer family after everything that happened all those years ago.
The epilogue was the cutest thing ever! It actually might have been my favorite part of the entire book! MK did a great job wrapping the story up.
If you love a closed door/ fade to black romance, enemies to lovers with a really silly grandma, I totally recommend reading it!

My rating 4.00

I read the audiobook of Summer Tease and thought the narrators were great! I loved the dual narration. Thanks so much to Dreamscape Media for the ALC of this audiobook.

This was such an adorable story! I loved Gemma and Beau and their prank wars. The banter was SO perfect. The audio was so much fun. But some of my favorite parts were Grams (SO fiesty) and Xena the "police" dog.

I have loved this whole series, but this was definitely one of my favorites. Beau is just the sweetest, and I love his easy-going personality.

Thank you to the author and Martha Keyes for the opportunity to listen to this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

Gemma & Beau
Gemma is back in town for a week to help get her Gram’s house ready to put on the market while she settles into a retirement home. The very home that’s owned by the family’s enemy, The Palmers. She absolutely can not get involved with Beau Palmer, even if he is super helpful and looks pretty great in his cop uniform, and he has a cute pooch named Xena to boot.

Just when I think I have enough book boyfriends another gets added to the list. Y’all, Beau is so sweet. The way he interacts with people all the time, whether working or not, just shows what a great person he is. He’s trying to get promoted to full time, but keeps getting denied. In steps PR genius Gemma, who offers to help him and in turn he’ll help her with the heavy lifting at Gram's house. Perfect! She’ll be done and ready to head back home to LA in no time, or will she?

Grams sure is a feisty one 😂 I hope I’ll be cool like her when I’m her age. Sometimes you just need to take the old golf cart out for a spin for ice cream. Black raspberry chip or coffee for me, what about you?

Overall, super fun and super cute with super likable characters. I loved the whole birdhouse war and how it was incorporated at the end was just perfection.

Series notes:
The timeline is the same for each book meaning the characters from other books in the series are in the background, but haven’t necessarily had their story told yet. I like this way of doing things since it doesn’t make it absolutely necessary to read them in order, but it’ll be better if you do.

Narration notes:
She did a great job.

I think I would have enjoyed this book more in its physical form rather than as an audiobook. I wasn’t a fan of the narrator so I wasn’t overly thrilled with the book, which was sad. I was looking forward to this book because you only got the FMC’s POV and sometimes that can make a story more enjoyable since you don’t know 100% what both characters are thinking. Sadly, it just wasn’t what I was hoping for.

Beau Palmer is 100% a Golden Retriever MMC with a K-5 Chow Chow named Xena. Rather odd, yes, but that’s just Sunset Harbor for you. He’s a part-time cop for the island (since they aren’t so sure they need a full-time one) who rides around in his police golf cart pulling over innocent Sawyers who happen to look like they’re driving recklessly. Gemma Sawyer was 100% innocent because it’s not her fault that Grams’ golf cart is a death trap waiting to happen with a propensity for going fast after Dax Miller souped it up. (What it really needed was a new engine, not more speed, but that’s beside the point)

Gemma Sawyer despises Sunset Harbor after having had to grow up with the eternal Sawyer vs. Palmer feud. Life was unfair and therefore Sunset Harbor does NOT hold fond memories for her. Now she’s back to help Grams get her house packed up and on the market, only to quickly find herself falling right back into the old Sawyer vs. Palmer debacle when Beau decides to pull her over. But, man oh man, has he ever had a glow up! Feelings, which she desperately tries to deny, begin to spring up. Meanwhile Beau makes no secret of his own feelings. Time and time again this couple gets shoved together as Grams has a few “mishaps” at Seaside Oasis. A deal comes into play, which has Gemma helping Beau and Beau letting Grams continue to stay at the Palmer’s Seaside Oasis. Over the duration of Gemma’s extended stay in Sunset Harbor, sparks start to fly between this dynamic couple and we’re all here for it!

Grams is an absolute hoot! With pink streaked hair and a propensity for getting into mischief, she keeps everyone on their toes. Is it any wonder that she’s BFFs with Deedee? They both have a thing for the young attractive males on the island and may or may not watch them from Deedee’s bedroom window 🤭 After a few debacles with Grams not being a fan of the “no alcohol” rule at Seaside Oasis, she seems to be right at home being the bad example to the other residents.

Top Moments:

🚨Xena
🚨spying from the window
🚨the bird feeder wars

Cute! I haven't been reading these books in order but this is my third in the series and my favorite so far. Loved seeing Gemma warm up and soften as the book went on. The stories in this series are so farfetched but I sort of love them for that. A great beach read.

3.8 rounded up to 4.

3.5⭐️ First, the Falling for Summer Series is just so fun! It blows my mind how well these authors connected their stories. Well done! Second, this one in particular was cute. I enjoyed it. But I didn’t love it.

I had no problems with the audiobook whatsoever. Ariel Royce is a fantastic narrator. I have listened to a few books that she has narrated and I enjoy listening to her. Buuut I need dual POV! Having 2 narrators is just better. But really, she does a good job changing her voice to represent other characters, so it makes listening to single POV a little better. Ultimately, I would recommend the audiobook.

Onto the characters themselves. I enjoy a good cranky old person every once in a while, but Grams was insufferable! She created millions of problems for poor Gemma and made her have a bitter heart towards everyone. The entire book…

Now, Beau and Gemma. Their romance never hooked me. I liked Beau. He was very sweet, but I just felt like he didn’t have much of a personality. Gemma just kind of annoyed me with her hatred towards the island as a whole. Has she heard of forgiveness? Lol. There were cute things that happened between them that I loved, but not enough. I just wanted more from their romance.

There were also no tropes. Like none. Maybe forbidden romance but even then, there were none to invest me in the story. So a lackluster romance, no fun tropes, and a batty old lady who drove me nuts, has ultimately made me believe that this one will probably be my least favorite in this series. Bring on the next one though!

“Have you ever seen a man in well tailored suit driving a boat? It’s a bucket list item. And my bucket truly runneth over.”

“You know how they say shoot for the moon and if you fail you’ll land among the stars? I shot for the stars and somehow got the moon and the stars.”

* Ahh good ‘ole Virginia Sawyer
* Please stop all this talk of hellfire 😅
* I love how good Beau is at jumping to and from happy go lucky to the man in uniform
* The secondhand embarrassment is back, folks 😂
* Yesss the bird feeder war
* Ahh yes I love them!
* I relate so much to Gemma’s whole “my entire life is in limbo and I have no idea what’s going on”
* I am obsessed with Beau and how kind he is and how much he loves the island

This whole book had me cackling and grinning ear to ear! These two were hilarious! I loved Beau and Gemma and their entire “rivalry”.

I loved getting to see Gemma fall in love with Sunset Harbor and discover her and her family’s place there. And Beau was the perfect guy to help her get there.

Please enjoy more quotes because there were just way too many good ones. 😂

“Suddenly, I feel famished. But I’m not sure if I’m hungry for the chips, or the man eating them.”

“But beauty is only skin deep.”
“Sometimes. But most of the time I think people just stop looking too soon.”

“I’m not sure if she’s mine, but I’m definitely hers.”

Thanks to NetGalley for this ALC. All opinions are my own.

Funny at moments, but I felt the battle between the families and the grandmother were just boring and tedious. The narrator was okay as well. Okay if you want a fairly mindless beach read
