We LOVED this read. Very cute, very relatable to my young kids, and a good overall story. The illustrations were amazing and kept my littles entertained. We laughed and enjoyed studying and picking out details in the photos. I will be looking to pick this up in the bookstore.

Thank you Jennifer Maruno, NetGalley, and Pajama Press.

Very cute Halloween book for any library. Bouncy rhymes lend themselves to young listeners, as well as read aloud (and re-read aloud) potential.

I enjoyed this cute story about a witch that can’t fly unless her friend Ramshackle Rat is on the broom with her. It teaches littles that sometimes confidence comes by having your best friend beside you. My favorite part of the book were the illustrations! I think the children will love them too!

Thank you NetGalley and Pajama Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Little Witch is still practicing for her flying test, and boy, does she need a lot of practice. She can't seem to fly straight. Instead, she dips and doodles, rises and sinks. But, help comes from an unexpected source in this cute tale of kindness and perseverance.

The illustrations by Scot Ritchie are adorable.

What a cute little story about a young witch getting her "broom license". This book tells us that it can be good to have a buddy helping you out. A great book for kids, especially around Halloween.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinion are completely my own.

The illustrations are adorable as is the story. I also never thought of Ramshackle as a name, but it is a intriguing pet name

A cute witchy story about how sometimes having a friend with you can make the ride much easier. I thought the set up and balance between words and illustrations was very well done.

I initially requested this book because my daughter loves all things “spooky” so I of course had to grab this one. This story was so cute. Our main character is trying to pass her broom flying test but just can’t seem to get it, that is until she meets a tiny mouse friend and they become the perfect team. I like the moral of the story to never give up and friends are always there to help us.
We would recommend this to everyone.

Thank you to Netgalley and Panama Press for letting us read a copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and Pajama Press for an advanced read copy of this cute little book!

Little Witch is struggling with her broom riding until an act of kindness brings an unexpected change of her broom handling skills. When Little Witch rescues Ramshackle Rat during a storm she notices having a buddy on her broom changes the way she rides and allows her to pass her flying test.

This adorable book emphasizes the importance of acts of kindness and how in helping others you can sometimes help yourself too!

As an educator, I would recommend this book as a great read aloud for a preschool or early elementary classroom.

Thank you, Pajama Press and NetGalley, for this ARC of Broom For Two, written by Jennifer Maruno and illustrated by Scot Ritchie! I am excited that this book will be released on August 27th, 2024, so I can read it to my students this October! I always look for new and fun Halloween-related stories to read with my students!

The book is a sweet story about a Little Witch who always loses her broom (a situation we can all relate to, with our own devices) and struggles to pass her broom exam. One night, Little Witch is awoken by a troubling noise and goes to find out what is wrong. When she sees what is wrong, she quickly offers her help. The next day, when Little Witch goes to take her exam, she has some help from a little friend. I don't want to spoil too much of the story's details, but it is a very simple and sweet story to follow, and I love it for my younger readers.

The book covers many useful topics teachers can use in the classroom, which I have always loved! I will list some below:
1. Losing your materials and what can happen
2. Failing or making a mistake and how to navigate that
3. Being helpful to those in need
4. Being a good friend/ making new friends
5. Not giving up/perseverance
6. Being unkind to others
And so much more!

I loved this book because it reminded me of Little Witch's Bad Dream by Deborah Hautzig, one of the first books I read as a kid on my own and adored! I have always loved the Halloween season and especially enjoyed witches. I dressed up as one for several years for Halloween, haha! But really, this is another wonderful addition to the theme of witches for young readers!

Side note: I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Jennifer Maruno at the ALA conference this year in San Diego, CA! Jennifer is so kind and fun to talk with, and I was super excited to see the NetGalley widget of this book since I had just received it at the conference and was excited to review it early! Thank you again!

Little Witch studies hard to pass her broom flying test. Unfortunately, she struggles with controlling her broom and readers see how it flies all over the place. She studies books and practices and practices but does not pass the test. Later that night, she hears a faint cry for help and saves Ramshackle Rat. To her surprise, with him on the broom, it flies straight and goes where she wants it to. So, she returns and passe her test. The two became friends and readers see them head off together to finish the story. Sweet story of an unlikely friendship and perseverance to accomplish a goal. Readers can use their imagination to decide where the story goes from them walking away together.

A sweet story of a witch that won’t give up or let failure get her down and an adorable friendship. I wish there was a little bit more of a message for my students, but it’ll definitely live in our library this year. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy!

This was a sweet simple story about a little witch and her broom. My five year old son said he thought the book was cute. The illustrations are fun and engaging. A fun book to read at Halloween time.

Broom for Two is a delightful picture book about a small witch, who has issues flying her broom. The illustrations were absolutely lovely, and I loved the way the Little Witch and her world were depicted. I think the solution to her problem was fantastic, and can definitely see this one being asked for on repeat from the kiddos. It is a very simple, short story, but that is all it needs to be!

Thanks to NetGalley, Jennifer Maruno, and Pajama Press for the opportunity to read and review. My opinions are my own.

This is a cute enough book with cute illustrations. The witch cant' seem to fly but once she brings a little critter friend a long she is just fine and riding her broomstick. Very very simple. Not much to the story beyond the basics.
