The Crash by Freida McFadden was so captivating I finished it in one day! At eight months pregnant, Tegan is driving in a snowstorm when her car runs off the road. The folks who help her end up being not so helpful after all. The twist was well written, for the story well, and I didn't see it coming.

Freida McFadden delivers another gripping psychological thriller with The Crash. The story follows Tegan, an eight-month-pregnant woman trying to escape her troubled life. When a blizzard leaves her stranded in rural Maine with a broken ankle and no way to call for help, she’s relieved when a seemingly kind couple offers her shelter. However, things quickly take a sinister turn, and Tegan realizes she may be in more danger than she ever imagined.

McFadden builds tension masterfully, keeping readers on edge as the true nature of her rescuers unfolds. Polly, in particular, is disturbingly unhinged, going to extreme lengths to keep Tegan from leaving. Hank, on the other hand, appears to have doubts about Polly’s actions, adding to the suspense. The novel explores themes of survival, manipulation, and the unsettling complexities of human nature.

Fast-paced and full of unexpected twists, The Crash is an engaging read that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. Fans of psychological thrillers won’t be disappointed..

Freida McFadden has done it again with "The Crash," a psychological thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! From the moment eight-months pregnant Tegan finds herself stranded in a blizzard after a harrowing car accident, the tension is palpable, and it only escalates with every page.
McFadden masterfully crafts a gripping narrative that draws you into Tegan's terrifying ordeal. Rescued by a seemingly kind couple, Tegan quickly realizes her safe haven is anything but. The isolated setting, the unreliable characters, and the escalating sense of dread all contribute to a truly immersive and chilling experience.
What sets "The Crash" apart is McFadden's uncanny ability to weave in twists and turns that genuinely shock. Just when you think you have things figured out, she pulls the rug out from under you, keeping you guessing until the very last page. The dual perspectives, alternating between Tegan and Polly, add layers of complexity, allowing readers to delve into the minds of both the victim and her unexpected captor, creating a thrilling push and pull of suspicion and revelation.
Beyond the suspense, "The Crash" also explores profound themes of motherhood, survival, and the lengths people will go to protect what they hold dear. Tegan's determination to save herself and her unborn child creates an emotional core that resonates deeply, making you root for her with every breath.
For fans of psychological thrillers and anyone who loves a story that keeps them guessing, "The Crash" is an absolute must-read. Freida McFadden once again proves why she's a master of the genre, delivering a page-turner that you won't be able to put down. Get ready for a wild and unforgettable ride!

This was w typical (and I mean that in a good way) Freida book. I suffer from crushing anxiety which sometimes impedes my ability to read and Frieda books never fail to entertain me and keep my attention. And, the best part is, I rarely, if ever figure out all the twists. These are the best books if yoh want a quick, fun thrilling read.

Thank you for the opportunity of the Arc edition of The Crash. I enjoyed it, lots of suspense and sensitive subjects touched. Very shocked at the end on who was partially responsible for FMC’s accident. Very quick read and enjoyable.

This book reminded me of the movie Misery with Kathy Bates and I dreamed about Tegan while I was reading the book. It is definitely a psychological thriller that prays on your feelings of self-preservation. The book touches on infertility, mental health issues and child abuse, as well as greed and misogyny. It’s one that stays with you long after you’re done reading it.

The crash was a fast read, but also triggering at times. I read the book in one day in about 3 hours. If you want a fast read, I recommend

I got locked out of my account, therefore I've been doing some catch up on reviews but ms Freida never misses a beat. Can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.

Completely addicting but I would expect nothing else from Freida Mcfadden! This story felt slightly different from her others but still kept me guessing. Even when I had a feeling I knew what was going on, she still managed to twist it just enough to keep the surprise!

Wow! I received an ARC of this book and was so excited to dive into Freida’s newest work. It did not disappoint. I read the whole thing in a day because I could not put it down. It kept me guessing the whole book, and as usual she got me with the ending! Highly recommend. Thank you Freida for another suspenseful gem!

This was such a great read! I could imagine it as a tv show or movie! It felt like just the write length. The plot twist was insane! Wasn’t expect that, but then again it’s Freida!

Okay, this was my second Freida McFadden book. And let me tell you for 60% of this book I WAS IN IT! Then the ending really brought it down for me. I don't think you can say it was a twist when there was no set up at all to have that ending.

This book was so awful. Frieda McFadden is definitely a hit or miss for me. They are putting out too many books too fast. Slow down and write better.

Thank you Freida, net gallery and the publishers for providing me a copy of the crash in exchange for a review.
I love all freida books, I'm a huge fan. Freidas writing style is simple and easy to read, I'm always pulled in and left speechless with the twists at the end.

The crash was another simple, easy to read bookn and I did not want to put the book down, I wanted to know what was happening next. The characters are well developed.

I just feel like the twists were not twisting. Nothing really grabbed me nor left me speechless. I do feel as though this was similar to "the boyfriend".

Overall it's a great read, I do recommend reading it. It's just missing the twists that leave you speechless.

Typically I love Freida McFadden's books and I was really excited for this one. It started off really strong for me and I found the main female character likeable and easy to sympathize with. Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of the secluded winter cabin trope and I think that this might have affected my overall enjoyment of the book. However, I am sure that most other readers and Freida fans will also enjoy this one. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

As an avid reader of Freida's books I was shocked when I finished this and couldn't give it 5 stars. Usually her books have me thrown for a 20 loop roller-coaster ride guessing, second guessing and finally giving up on guessing who "the bad guy" is, however with this book the roller-coaster was much more tame when it came to the loops. I did still love it. It was still pulse pumping, had me on the edge of my seat and as always it was an easy fast read just much more predictable. Maybe I'm just getting better at predicting but it felt too easy this time. Looking forward to reading her next one!
