Absolutely loved this one.
Yet another classic McFadden story!
Kept me on the edge of my seat guessing all the new twists and turns.
Honestly the ending shocked me.

I normally love this author's books and was excited to read this one. I found that this one just didn't seem up to par with previous novels by Ms. McFadden. I found myself wanting to just skim the story, and I really disliked all of the characters. I did finish it, hoping my opinion would change, but it didn't. Honestly, it reminded me too much of Misery.

Thank you Freida McFadden and Mandy Chahal for the ARC read. Even though my review is late, I would still like to send one.
If you enjoy Freida’s other books you will enjoy this one as well! It follows a young pregnant Tegan on the way to see her brother, however, things take a turn when she crashes in a blizzard leaving her injured and stranded. A large hulking man stops to check on her and takes Tegan to get help for her injuries, at least that’s what she thinks is happening until they pull into a drive of a house in the middle of nowhere instead of a hospital. Tegan then finds herself stuck in the basement of the home and isn’t sure when or how she will escape, or who to trust.
The more I think about this book the more I think the repetitiveness of Tegan’s thoughts while she is trapped are necessary for her character. She’s young, frantic, and possibly delirious due to her injuries not being treated. It created the feeling of anxiety you can feel while reading.

The Crash is another gripping book by Freida McFadden. The main character is in a dilemma of who to trust as she tries to get help for herself and her unborn baby after a snowy car crash. Does she trust the right person? Will she get help in time? The author incorporates the theme of good and bad in the twists. It’s definitely a unique spin on the typical Freida twists. I would highly recommend this book.

Freida always killin it with the twists at the end! Never would've seen this one coming. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read it!

Thank You to Poisoned Pen Press, Freida McFadden, and NetGalley for the free e-arc.
Freida McFadden is my favorite author. She writes books that are very entertaining, on the edge of your seat, and you can't put down. This book is no exception. The characters are well developed and interesting. I love when the story is told from multiple voices, two in this book, so more of the character, their thoughts, and actions enhance the story. My only problems with the book is that it is a little slow and repetitive in the middle. The ending was a twist and I'm not sure I believe it.

2.5 stars, rounded up.
Let me start off by saying that I'm a big fan of Freida McFadden, but this book was just not it for me.
The Crash is about Tegan is 8 months pregnant and all alone with a boatload of problems. In order to escape for a bit she decides to drive out to see her brother, but she never makes it due to the huge storm that hits. She ends up in a accident that badly injures her ankle and is rescued by large man that takes her back to his home and wife.
It doesn't take long before Tegan suspects there is more going on in this house than meets the eye and decides she needs to get out of there in order to save her baby. I want to point out that the summary claims that Tegan realizes she needs to do "whatever it takes to save her unborn child", but as far as I'm concerned she definitely did not. The decisions she makes make her seem dumb and willing to easily give up.
The Crash was okay in the beginning, but in the middle it became extremely repetitive and just dragged on. The end did have an okay twist, but it wasn't McFadden's usual jaw dropping reveal. All in all, I just wanted more. I love her books and this one just didn't do her writing justice.

The Crash is full of unexpected twists and had me hooked within the first chapter and had me guessing throughout the entire thing. The ending was not what I predicted but I have yet to guess the ending to a Freida book. I finished it in a day! Definitely one of my favorites!

I sped through this book just like every other McFadden book I've read! She's just that good--you can't put these books down! Everytime you think you know where the book is going it takes a different turn. I've found a lot of mystery/thriller books to be too predictable and I discover the ending too quickly. With McFadden I'm always surprised in some way. I liked the winter storm/injury/secluded cabin elements of the book as well. It is a must read for sure.

The Crash was a powerful read. It made me reflect on life, loss, and how fragile everything is. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a character-driven story that doesn’t shy away from tough topics.

Another great book by McFadden. The writing and storyline continue to be top notch. Have ordered and recommended to many people

Freida has done it again! I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this story. I never would have suspected some of the betrayers in this book. I also found some of it predictable, yet still enjoyable. I only gave this book 4 stars because in comparison to some of her other books this one wasn't quite as twisty. I very much thank you for the ARC and look forward to her upcoming books!

3.5*** stars.
This one was a lot better than her last couple of releases. Usually I am left stunned and can't figure out her endings but I knew this one so quickly. It was a good storyline and it kept my interest but in the middle of the book it started to get repetitive.

The Crash was just okay for me. I typically expect mind-blowing twists from Freida McFadden, but this one didn’t quite deliver on that front. The twists were there, just not as strong as I’d hoped. Tegan was an okay FMC—she did what she had to do—but Polly? She needed serious help (and maybe a punch).
This was a solid, fast-paced read, perfect for a break after a heavier book. Leslie Howard’s narration was well done, making it an engaging listen even if the twists didn’t fully wow me.

Thank you to Frieda and Net Galley for the opportunity to be an early reader with an ARC. Very easy read but at times a little slower than her other books. Not my favorite of hers and not as twisty as others, but I still enjoyed it. It was a lighter read so a nice break in between other books.
Although I like other books of Frieda’s better, I would still recommend this for a quick read with cozy winter vibes with an ending that reminds you there are still good people out there with good intentions, regardless of how it may seem, and yet on the other hand, those we expect to be good people and to care the most for us, will often surprise us with different sides of them.

If you haven’t preordered The Crash I would highly recommend that you do. A BIG thanks to Mandy for picking me to get an ARC of The Crash.

Here’s my review…
The Crash is another book by Freida McFadden that draws you in right from the first page.
It truly sucks you in from the first sentence. You feel so many emotions through out the book. For me I felt so anxious and wanted to scream at all the characters 🤣🤣 It was very intense!!
Towards the end of the book I did feel it being a tad repetitive, but loved that in true Freida fashion you think you know but you don’t…. Because my jaw dropped with the twist.
This is a definite read!!! It’s a unique spin on Freida’s typical twists and plot. I would very much recommend this book which is out soon on January 28,2025.
Thank you Freida McFadden for another great book!

I had high hopes for The Crash by Freida McFadden, but unfortunately, this book fell flat for me. While the premise was intriguing, the execution left a lot to be desired.
The biggest issue was the predictability. McFadden is known for her twists, but this one felt overly telegraphed. I guessed the "big reveal" early on, which made the suspense fizzle out quickly. The pacing dragged in the middle, with repetitive inner monologues that made it feel like the story was stretching itself thin.
Overall, The Crash had potential but didn’t deliver the gripping, edge-of-your-seat experience I was hoping for. If you’re new to psychological thrillers, you might enjoy it more, but for seasoned readers of the genre, it’s a miss.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of The Crash by Freida McFadden!

thank you, NetGalley and poison press for an advanced copy of Freida McFadden‘s newest book, “ The Crash”. I was a little hesitant to read this one because I really don’t like when pregnant people are in danger, but I am glad I read this one. Teagan is eight months pregnant and decides to drive cross country to visit her brother since she is feeling very lonely and overwhelmed with her pregnancy. However, she gets in a car crash in his rescued by a couple who are not what they seem… This was very typical McFadden where there were lots of twists that you had no idea were coming, but it seemed like it could have wrapped up about fifty pages earlier. That being said , this is a Freida stan account so I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

This book was the ideal choice for a winter publication! It's appropriate. I eventually figured out a minor surprise, but every other twist left me absolutely confused, as is usual with Freida!
