thank you, NetGalley and poison press for an advanced copy of Freida McFadden‘s newest book, “ The Crash”. I was a little hesitant to read this one because I really don’t like when pregnant people are in danger, but I am glad I read this one. Teagan is eight months pregnant and decides to drive cross country to visit her brother since she is feeling very lonely and overwhelmed with her pregnancy. However, she gets in a car crash in his rescued by a couple who are not what they seem… This was very typical McFadden where there were lots of twists that you had no idea were coming, but it seemed like it could have wrapped up about fifty pages earlier. That being said , this is a Freida stan account so I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

This book was the ideal choice for a winter publication! It's appropriate. I eventually figured out a minor surprise, but every other twist left me absolutely confused, as is usual with Freida!

This was the perfect book to release during the winter! It’s fitting. I finally figured out a small twist, but In typical Freida fashion, I was completely thrown at every other twist!

I found this book different from Freida’s other books (I have read almost all of them) but in a good way. It seemed to start off a little slow for me but picked up and then I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed this book and liked how it ended.

I loved this book! I’m addicted to all of Freida’s books. She has so many twists that I never see coming.. Freida is the reason why I got into reading again. Her books grab my attention from the first chapter.; they are hard to put down!! I’d definitely recommend reading The Crash!

The Crash by Freida McFadden was another page turner for me. I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy read book that kept me guessing. It is broken into 4 parts and told from dual POV, following Tegan and Polly. Tegan is 8 months pregnant and gets into a crash during a storm after her breaks fail to work. She gets rescued by a big guy named Hank. Hank brings her to his home since the roads are really bad, and his wife is a former nurse who could help her. Freida is my go-to author when I am looking for a quick, easy thriller read to break up the romance books.

I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

A new favorite written by Freida McFadden! This one felt like one of her older reads, which I really enjoyed. I loved the constant stress and anticipation through out the entire book! Towards the end of the book you get hit by twist after twist! And the ending leaves you both satisfied and emotional.

You can’t go wrong with any of Freida McFadden’s books but this is a new favorite!

Was a fast read! Enjoyed the story and didn’t see the twists coming. Didn’t love the nick name tuna for the baby…..lol. Would definitely recommend and read again in the future!

Not my favorite McFadden book, but a quick-read! Being from Maine, the setting is realistic. I feel the middle did drag on a bit more than I would have preferred, leading to a typical McFadden twist towards the end. The ending seemed kind of underdeveloped, and quick. The characters were well-developed, even if they annoyed me! (Take the damn cast off! Iykyk-haha!) This was my first ARC, I’m excited to see what others thought of this book!

I think this is my second favorite Freida book! The 384 pages just flew by, and I devoured this book in less than 48 hours. It was a fast-paced read with all the great twists and turns that you've come to expect when reading a Freida book! I got a lot of Misery (Stephen King) vibes when I read this one, which was fun. I thought all of the characters were so interesting and well written. I really liked the epilogue and how everything wrapped up!

4.5 stars rounded up

I love all books Freida McFadden...and this one doesn't disappoint! The characters in this book were relatable (even if frustratingly-so) and I was definitely invested in the the outcome. I'd recommend this book as a fun read for any thriller book lover.

I am so honored to be chosen to read this book before it gets released to the public. I finished it in one day, I was hooked. I wanted to find out what happened. I love Freida and have read a lot of her books. I would rate this one 3.5. Of course we all have different opinions on what we like.

What I did like was, the pace of the book, it kept me engaged, and it left me wondering if I had it figured out yet. What I did not like is “little tuna” though it was funny at first, I don’t feel like it needed to be repeated. Kind of like a comedian who always uses the same line. Another thing was that I had it figured out through the book. I knew who the perpetrator was going to be before more revealing facts has been given. The hostage situation with Hank and Polly went on a little longer than it needed to. I felt like it got dragged out. I did enjoy the book thoroughly, I feel like there could’ve been a little less of Hank and Polly and a little more about Tegan and Simon. I like how all the families all came together. Hank and Polly with Sadie. I also would’ve never guessed what Hank was going to do! Also, Tegan and Jackson’s story, I wish there was more!

Absolutely brilliant! Though I have not yet come across a Freida book that has left me anything less than internally fizzing and wishing for just one more chapter!
While The Crash quickly because an overall favourite, I did find myself wishing Tegan was a little smarter and Hank a little bolder.
Highly recommend, 5 stars!!

- I’m surprised this book got so many bad reviews, I LOVED IT! Freida knows how to twist & not make it complicated. Have you thinking you know who your bad guy is & BLAM. Mayb a little slow in the middle, slightly repetitive (not enough for me to be annoyed by any means) but I would DEF recommend this book to anyone who needs a good & easy read! I think I’d even go as high as a 4.5 for this!

- Thank you NetGalley for this ARC, I enjoyed it so so so much.
Also, sorry for the late review. I do realize it’s after release date.

Freida always gets me with her twists and suspense. When I started to read this book I did not think that it would have ended up where it did. There were parts where I was laughing (like when she would refer to her baby as “Tuna”) and parts where I was mad at the main character Tegan. There were bits where I was on the edge of my seat and begging Tegan to just take off that damn boot! That’s the part that made me mad about the story. I know she wanted out of there but why wouldn’t she let the woman help her in the beginning even before things got crazy. But then things got really crazy and I understood Tegan not trusting the wife. She wasn’t a complete monster though as she did care for the little girl down the road and made sure she had something to eat when she was without.

I kept trying to imagine myself in Tegans position. What would I do if that happened to me. What if I found myself pregnant and crashed during a snow storm. What would I do? And I think that is one of the reasons that I like Freida McFaddens stories and writing so much is because it’s easy to place myself in the position of the main character. Then once I make that connection it’s easy to start imagining and questioning what I myself would do in that situation.

Freida just knows how to write a twisty suspenseful thriller and I always look forward to her new books.
