It felt very superficial reading the book. I was not able to connect with the the story well and it didn’t hold my interest for much time.

A story of a grumpy workaholic that falls for a selfless dreamer after an unexpected series of events. A fairy-tale that I could read again, and again and again. Perfect for the hopeless romantics

#Wished #NetGalley Nice enough story but something about it just didn't feel right. None of the characters really worked unfortunately & the story was a bit far fetched at times.

I somehow missed the memo that this book was a part of a series until after I’d finished reading it 😅 That being said, this book did great as a stand alone book! I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not reading the other books.

While I enjoyed watching Anna and Max figure out what has happened and interact, I felt like the romance was a bit abrupt. Since the book is told from Anna’s perspective we know she has always been in love with Max, but from my understanding, Max barely knows who she is before the wish and it felt like he suddenly loved her a bit too quickly. Maybe if we had more scenes from his point of view it would have made more sense.

I’m going to have to read the rest of the books in this series!

I could read anything by Sarah ready! I loved this book! This gave a very late 90’s early 2000’s rom-com feel and I was there for it. What would you do if you had your wish granted? Deep down though you knew the other person didn’t want that. Would you reverse it? Anna has longed for her boss, and will soon find out…I read this in a day and a half. Thanks NetGalley!

What a sweet, cosy feel this book had. I didn’t know what to expect but I found it charming. Anna, with her honesty, even at her own expense. Max, who was so stoic and grumpy when we first see him, turning swoony and romantic and his initial dreaded word, passionate.

Anna’s wish changed everything for them in this contemporary read, touched with a little magical realism. I adored the little acts of love that were described during their “wished” time together. Max knew how to show his lady she was everything to him. Aah, it was so, so romantic.
What a great book!!

I saw someone say this is like a 90s/00s romance and it's so accurate! This was such a fun read and I loved the two main characters

"You made a wish on a necklace to see what it was like to live in my house instead of clean it?"

"You want to make love?'
"I want to make you come so hard you forget your name."

"But if I forget you... isn't that another sort of prison? I'll be sentenced to never knowing what I'm missing."

"I may have been able to pretend I didn't miss him. But I've not been able to pretend I don't love him."

With her ability to create magical romantic worlds, romance author Sarah Ready has written the steamy swoon worthy Wished and made our love story dreams come true.

Anna has cleaned handsome jewelry magnate Max's chateau for years. He still doesn't know her name but she knows everything about him. She cares for the books he loves, makes sure his home is pristine and loves him alone. When she finds the heirloom necklace that his family purports makes wishes come true she jokingly wishes Max would love her too. She wakes up and it's 7 years later and she's married to Max. "What do you do when all your wishes come true?" Is it real love when he didn't have a choice?

It was my first time experiencing voice actress Amanda Ronconi and her talent. Her Anna was heartbreakingly vulnerable and yet fierce. Voice actor Will Watt was swoony, sexy and scene stealing at times.

Wished is book 4 of the writer's Ghosted series. They are stand-alones though characters make fun cameos throughout the series. Ghosted, Switched and Fated (where we first meet Max) are just as magically romantic as the heart stopping Wished. It's the love story we all wish for filled with hope, sacrifice and love.

I received a free copy ofthis book/audiobook from the publishers via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Okay the last one was a fluke with a crappy plotline. This one was ca-uuuuuute. 🥰😍 Didn't mind it at all and loved that Max got his HEA. Yes, a little bit ick that he never paid attention to the people cleaning his house. So, no 5 stars. But the story was cute.

This is my second read from Sarah Ready and I just love her Ghosted series. Fated bewitched me body and soul and Wished just threw my heart into the bottom of the ocean where it can cozy up next to Rose's heart of the ocean necklace.
I am a complete sucker for magical realism and Sarah delvers her best in this one. Anna was such a sweet character to read as she hold's her heart on her sleeve for her boss Max. He definitely does not see her as an equal, but overtime his cold heart slowly melts away.
"Love isn't the opposite of hate. It doesn't have room for hate. It's pure and compassionate and forgiving and full of grace. It's constant. It's quiet. It's loud. It's steady...It's a hand gripping yours in the dark, holding on when you're certain you're all alone." ❤❤❤

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions here are my own.

*4.5

This was a cute way to end the series. It went by so fast, I was so invested. I liked Max from the other book and was looking forward to his book. Anna was a fun character and I loved seeing how she never gave up on her love for Max.

Wished is a charming romance with a touch of magic. The story follows Callie, who stumbles upon a mysterious wishing fountain, leading her to make wishes that change her life in unexpected ways. As she navigates love, self-discovery, and the consequences of her wishes, the book explores the idea of "be careful what you wish for." The romance between Callie and Simon is sweet and swoon-worthy, and the characters are relatable and endearing.

Wished is a fun, whimsical read with emotional depth and plenty of heart.

Highly recommend if you enjoy a touch of magical surrealism in your books.

This was a fun take on when you make a wish - in this case instead of on a star it's on an expensive necklace. The wish was for love. Anna fell in love with Max the first time she saw him. When she wishes to be married to him she never imagined that it would come true. The only problem is what happens when they go back to reality and Max goes back to having no idea who she is?

This was a cute romance, little bit of steam, and a quick read. Definitely recommend paranormal romance fans read this series! This is book 4 in a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Wished by Sarah Ready is the kind of romance that mixes magic, emotion, and just enough angst to keep you hooked. Anna Benoit is a romantic dreamer who, after making a wish, wakes up in an alternate reality where she’s married to Max Barone, a man she’s been hopelessly in love with for years—despite him not even knowing she exists. The story dives deep into the idea that wishes, while magical, aren’t always what they seem, and sometimes we’re thrown into situations that force us to truly understand what we need—not just what we think we want.
The narrative is told from Anna’s perspective, and for the most part, it’s an emotional rollercoaster. I really appreciated how the story doesn’t just rely on the magic for drama but uses it to explore love, identity, and what’s real. As Anna and Max work through the situation, their connection grows in surprising, heartfelt ways. The unexpected dilemmas keep the story fresh, ensuring it’s never too predictable.
The audiobook experience is top-notch, with Amanda Ronconi absolutely nailing Anna’s emotional highs and lows. Her delivery pulls you right into Anna’s inner world, making you feel her confusion, heartbreak, and joy. Will Watt’s portrayal of Max was the perfect contrast, and I loved how he brought depth to Max’s character, especially in the epilogue—there was a moment that definitely had me misty-eyed.
If you love a romance with some magical twists, emotional depth, and a dash of spicy moments, Wished is a must-read (or listen). You won’t regret it, and I’d especially recommend the audiobook for its immersive narration and rich character voices. It’s a charming, heartfelt ride that leaves you reflecting on what love really means.

3.5 stars.

This charming romance follows the journey of Anna and Max after Anna makes a wish for them to be married. When this wish comes true, everyone else perceives them as having been happily married for seven years, while only Anna and Max are aware of the underlying truth—though they are left with memories and feelings of their relationship they cannot fully comprehend. I appreciated how the author portrayed Max's struggle between the two realities in his mind. It added depth to his character, highlighting that the wish was not simply a matter of forgetting his past.

As they embark on the quest to reverse the wish, it is heartwarming to witness Anna and Max truly getting to know each other, allowing their connection to flourish.

I found it delightful that the story took unexpected turns; it certainly kept me engaged and eager to continue reading.

Personally, I have a preference for dual or multiple POV, and I believe that alternating between Anna and Max’s perspectives could have enriched the narrative, providing insight into Max's internal conflicts from a first-hand perspective.

The descriptive narrative is wonderfully immersive, enabling readers to vividly envision the scenes unfolding before them.

Overall, this was a sweet and enjoyable romance that many readers would enjoy.

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis publishing LLC for this E-ARC.

Doreen is my spirit animal. She’s so funny.
She’s also not the main character in this book but I love her.

The small funny parts in this book are amazing. There’s a little bit of spice but not a lot. It’s well done.

Anna is a romantic. She believes in true love and the one. She also happens to be the house cleaner for Max who she crushes on hard. One day she finds a necklace in his office with a note that says it’ll grant you one wish. She wishes that she was married to Max. Then she gets fired.

But weirdly, the next day. It’s true. But is it everything she wanted? Is it even real? Is it the true love that she’s always dreamed of?

I really really liked this book and will be reading the entire series in reverse now.

This is the fourth book in the Ghosted series, and the third one I've read. (Somehow I still haven't gotten around to reading the first one, Ghosted. I'll be correcting that soon!) I've read a couple of her standalones as well, and they've all been enjoyable rom-coms with a nice blend of humor and romance, along with a bit of magic. This was no exception. I loved the characters, the settings are fabulous, and once again Ready writes situations that feel real and almost insurmountable for the couple in question. With romances it isn't about the ending - it's about the journey there, and this is a good one.
Our couple is Anna and Max (we know Max from the previous book, Fated) - Max runs the family business, a high end jewelry empire. Anna cleans his house. She also has a huge crush on him, but he's barely aware of her existence - unaware of the extra little things she does to make his life simpler. When Anna makes a wish one night, only to wake up and find that said wish has been fulfilled, it seems too good to be true. Her life had been full of challenges, but as she and Max deal with this new reality, and a get to know each other in that reality, she's faced with a whole new set of challenges - including the fact that she's not at all sure she's really deserving of this new life and love. It's charming and humorous and thoroughly enjoyable. It can be read as a standalone, but I do think it's best read as a follow on to at least the previous book, Fated.

Thanks Netgalley for the advanced copy.

I've enjoyed reading this series by Sarah Ready (and still hoping this isn't the last one) but unfortunately this wasn't my favorite. The idea is a little icky - which, to be fair, the author/mc acknowledge towards the end - and it is fairly well executed, even surprising in it's direction. But the main part, the romance aspect, was verging on insta love and the characters (especially the MC, Anna) did not feel fleshed out enough to understand the connection between the two of them.

Anyways, I hope this series goes on forever.

Anna Benoit has always been a dreamer and a romantic, believing in love at first sight. That belief is solidified the moment she lays eyes on Max Barone, the enigmatic owner of the chateau she cleans. Though they come from entirely different worlds—he a jewelery magnate, she a house cleaner—Anna’s heart is set on Max. The only problem? Max doesn’t even know she exists.

But when Anna makes a whimsical wish, she wakes up in a startling new reality—one where she and Max are not only acquainted but have been married for years. As Anna revels in the romance, passion, and love she’s always dreamed of, she begins to question whether this perfect life is truly what she wished for—or if it’s all too good to be true.

Tropes
- Wish-fulfillment fantasy
- Love across class divides
- Fake memories and alternate realities
- Love at first sight vs. earned love
- Dream vs. reality

Sarah Ready’s *Wished* is a delightful, heartwarming romance that blends whimsical fantasy with genuine emotional resonance. Anna’s journey from an unrequited crush to a woman questioning the nature of love itself is as enchanting as it is thought-provoking.

Anna is a charming protagonist, her romantic optimism making her instantly relatable to readers who have ever wished for a fairy-tale romance. Her transition into an alternate reality is filled with humour, sweetness, and moments of poignant self-reflection as she navigates the intricacies of a "marriage" to Max. Max Barone, while initially a distant figure, becomes a more layered character as Anna peels back the layers of their "relationship," adding depth to the narrative.

The magical realism element is handled with care, never overwhelming the romance but enhancing it, creating a dreamlike quality to Anna’s newfound life. The story raises important questions: Is love something instantaneous, or does it grow from shared experiences and trust? And what happens when you get everything you wished for but still feel something is missing?

The emotional stakes build beautifully, with twists that keep readers engaged while rooting for Anna and Max to find a genuine connection beyond the illusion. Ready’s signature humor and heartfelt writing shine throughout, making this book a perfect pick for fans of enchanting, soul-stirring romance.
