Well... it was a very fast read. I'll give it credit there. But the story and characters were so shallow and surface-level. It didn't feel like there was much to any of them. Anytime it seemed like the author had been written into a corner, something would suddenly happen to get out of it. I could almost hear the Pitch Meeting guy saying "So the movie can happen!" (except it's a book, but you know)

I would dismiss it as "just for kids," but this is meant to be YA and I've actually read FAR better middle-grade heist stories than this. Also, the steampunk elements came way out of nowhere.

Good ideas, but needed another editing pass... or six. And an overhaul.

I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.

The plot is full of unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader interested and hooked into the story. The characters are well developed and the author creates a vivid and fascinating Victorian world. In addition to the main plot of the novel, there is also a romantic sub-plot that adds an extra twist to the story. Young and adult readers alike will enjoy this exciting adventure full of action, intrigue and romance.

Whilst the premise intrigued me, I struggled to connect with the characters which hampered my enjoyment of the novel.

I thought that this book might be a good fit for me but unfortunately not. The plot was too simple, and it didn't feel serious at all. The story kind of mashed together and the word "whimsical" is probably a one to describe this. I really wanted to like it.

The Kindle this book was on was lost long ago.

I was expecting something along the lines of Night Circus and Firelight but I was a little disappointed, The writing was whimsical and great, but the flat characters and instalove ruined it for me.
