While I thought this story was a bit slow, it really did throw me for a loop. I found myself questioning many of the characters credibility, which makes for a great thriller. I mean a baby going missing mid flight.. and nobody knows anything!?! This was my first book by this author and I’m excited to see what she puts out next.

This was the Jodie Foster book Flight plan just written in a different font. I enjoyed it more than I expected to though, there were some good twists, and a nice tense setting.

Say what now??? The story was intriguing. The ending delivered, but I was expecting something else...a "better" ending, possibly. Many thanks to the author and Netgalley for providing a copy for an honest review. I enjoyed the read and the pace. Makayla acted like any other mother would in the situation, with desperation, frustration and helplessness...and a feeling that no one is doing enough to find her baby that went missing during her quick lavatory break. The different POVs revealed more about the characters' backgrounds and made everyone feel as shady as they came! An escape-room kind of story worth going through.

Such a fun popcorn thriller! I could NOT put this one down... highly recommend if you're looking for a fast, entertaining read. You have to suspend a bit of disbelief, but it was a fun romp.

Is it possible to really lose something on a plane in mid flight? Especially if it is a 3 month old baby? My mind goes automatically to no but this book explores that possibility and all the questions it brings up. As I read this book I pictured myself onboard the plane and saw the action in real life. Full of action, emotions, and questions this is an excellent read!

Talk about a page turner! 👏 I started this book and could not put it down. You will meet Makayla, a new mother, recently boarding a flight with her son Liam. During flight he goes missing or does he?
The twists and turns were enough to keep me flying through this book. I would recommend this to anyone as a quick read!

Rushing back to her seat, Makayla Rossi is relieved that all’s still quiet. But when she checks on her sleeping baby, relief morphs into fear. The bassinet is empty. Liam is gone. Passengers and crew scour the plane to no avail, and since no one recalls seeing her with a baby, suspicions begin to mount about Makayla’s mental state. If only Jack, her husband, were there. A high-profile banker featured in Forbes, maybe he could even help. But Makayla is squarely on her own. And she’ll have to think fast to find her son—before it’s too late.
"Missing in Flight" is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about a mother's desperate search for her missing baby on a flight to New York. Makayla asked a fellow passenger to watch her sleeping baby while she used the restroom; upon her return, the baby was gone. The anxiety I felt as a mother while reading this was palpable. Makayla becomes a distraught mother who will go to any lengths to find her child, even if it means becoming unhinged during the search. I understand her reactions and behavior, as I would also lose my mind in this scenario.
Audrey masterfully portrays the distinct voices of Maykala, her husband, the co-pilot, and the FBI agents, utilizing multiple points of view. The well-developed characters allowed for a clear understanding of each individual. I'd prefer not to reveal too much of the plot, as the twists were fun to discover, but I will say it reads like an action movie. While I did have to suspend disbelief at times, it did not detract from my enjoyment.
The gripping writing, along with the tense energy, kept me engaged until the very end. I appreciated the evident research Audrey conducted on flight terminology, which made everything feel authentic. If you are looking for a fast-paced, locked-in thriller that will have you in anticipation, I highly recommend "Missing in Flight!"

Missing in Flight by Audrey J Cole
I was holding my breath the entire time reading this. A baby goes missing on a flight. What happened? Was the baby even there? I suffer from claustrophobia and this made me uneasy but in a good way. Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for the arc.

This was a nonstop thrill ride! Suspenseful, engaging and full of twists! You will not be disappointed! I love Audrey Cole’s style of writing and her books are fantastic!

This fast paced, edge-of-your-seat thriller will have your palms sweaty and your heart pounding! I felt like I was holding my breath from start to finish.
Perfect for fans of locked room thrillers, MISSING IN FLIGHT reminded me of the Jodie Foster blockbuster Flightplan. If you enjoyed that film, then you must read this book!
The terrifying scenario of a missing infant is every parent's worst nightmare, which, in turn, makes for the best bingeable, high-stakes thriller. Throw in an unreliable narrator and you have yourself a classic page-turner. I couldn't put it down!

Missing in Flight by Audrey J. Cole
Audrey J. Cole delivers a heart-pounding thriller in Missing in Flight, a novel that grips the reader from the first page and doesn’t let go until the very last word. As someone who enjoys a well-crafted suspense story, I found myself completely engrossed, unable to put the book down until I had devoured it in one sitting.
One of the standout aspects of this book is Cole’s detailed knowledge of aviation. The terminology, procedures, and descriptions of the aircraft environment feel incredibly accurate, adding a layer of realism that makes the story even more immersive. It’s clear that the author either has firsthand experience or conducted thorough research into the world of aviation, making the setting feel both authentic and tense. The way the crew communicated and the specific lingo they used made the stakes feel even higher, as if I were right there in the cabin with the characters.
The tension in Missing in Flight is relentless, and I never knew what was coming next. Every chapter seemed to introduce a new twist or challenge, keeping me on edge the entire time. Just when I thought I had figured something out, Cole would throw in another surprise that left me second-guessing everything.
What made the book even more compelling was my frustration for the protagonist. The way she was treated by both the crew and the passengers was infuriating, making me root for her even harder. Her struggle to be heard and taken seriously only heightened the intensity of the story, making every moment feel even more urgent.
Overall, Missing in Flight was a thrilling, well-researched, and fast-paced read that I highly recommend to anyone who loves a suspenseful mystery. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you feel deeply for the protagonist, this one is a must-read.

I’m a huge fan of Audrey J Cole and this is another that kept me on the edge of my seat. There were some moments that fell flat for me, but overall I loved it!

Engaging and entertaining. A recommended purchase for collections where crime and thrillers are popular.

This was definitely an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Missing In Flight is told in four POV'S from Anna who is the co-pilot, Makayla Rossi who is the female main character, Jack Rossi who is Makayla's husband and the male main character, and finally Tina Farrar who is an FBI agent. Flight 7038 of Pacific Air Flight is currently thirty thousand feet in the air currently en route from Anchorage Alaska to LaGuardia New York when out of no where panic and fear starts to erupt. Makayla was spending two weeks in Alaska with her father and her three month old son, Liam, but now she's heading home to her husband in New York. When Makayla was in Alaska, she went hiking with her father and son when she fell and hit her head but insisted she was fine. When Flight 7038 is thirty thousand feet in the air, Makayla decides to use the restroom and asks the teenager across the isle to watch her sleeping baby, but when Makayla returns to her seat, the bassinet is empty. Makayla starts causing a ruckus on the plane accusing people of having taken her child and going through everything on the plane looking for her son. Nobody boarding Flight 7038 ever recalls seeing Makayla board the airplane with a baby. So, where is Liam? Was there ever a baby in the first place as passengers were boarding the airplane? You'll have to read this book to have these questions answered.

The ultimate locked-room nightmare, Missing in Flight is a tightly-written, propulsive novel by Audrey J. Cole. When new mom Makayla Rossi boards her flight from Anchorage to NYC, she asks a young woman to keep an eye on 3-month old Liam while she takes a very quick bathroom break onboard. After returning to her seat, she looks down and discovers a pillow in Liam's baby carrier-instead of her baby. How does a baby disappear on a plane? Frantic, Makayla, passengers and crew help her search-and turn up empty handed. Desperate, she calls her husband Jack multiple times from an internet messaging app and he gets the FBI involved. Soon, the crew is asking everyone if they even saw a baby onboard and Makayla starts to realize they may not believe her that Liam was taken-let alone that he was even with her on the flight. Told from alternating perspectives, readers are taken on one wild flight of a psychological thriller. Everyone is a suspect and readers won't know what to believe or who to trust. This was my first novel by Audrey J. Cole and will not be my last!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest feedback.

As a huge traveler I was really intrigued to read this book. The story started off strong but there were to many point of vieuws. That was really confusing and the plot felt a bit flat. The middle was a bit repetitive but it was a ‘fun’ book to read between other heavier books.

Once I started this book I did not want to put it down until I finished it. It started out so strong and the questions I had it answered slowly throughout the book. With the multiple POV and information revealed about the past it made it hard to pick what I wanted to believe. I loved the locker room mystery vibes and it was a very entertaining read.
Thank you @audreyjcole and @suzyapprovedbooktours the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy.

Thank you to Thomas Mercer & NetGalley for an ARC of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion!
After reading my first Audrey Cole thriller last year, I was quickly hooked on her style of pulse pounding thriller, and Missing in Flight delivered once again!
If you’re looking for a new thriller to add to your tbr, this is the one!

If you're looking for a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat thriller, Missing in Flight by Audrey J. Cole is a must-read. From the very first pages, the tension is palpable as Makayla Rossi’s worst nightmare unfolds mid-flight. Her infant son, Liam, disappears while she's away from her seat, and suddenly, she's thrust into a mind-bending race against time to find him—thousands of feet in the air with no clear answers.
This book takes the locked-room mystery concept to new heights (literally!) as the entire plane becomes a tense and claustrophobic setting where every passenger is a potential suspect and every twist leaves you questioning what’s real. The pace is relentless, pulling you through a rollercoaster of emotions as Makayla faces mounting suspicion, a fractured memory, and a desperate need to prove the unthinkable.
What I loved most about Missing in Flight was the gripping suspense that never lets up. The story is as emotional as it is thrilling, and Cole does an amazing job of crafting characters that are complex, vulnerable, and compelling. The emotional depth of Makayla’s journey makes the mystery all the more impactful, and the unreliable narrator angle keeps you hooked as you try to piece together the truth.
With constant surprises, smart twists, and a heart-stopping climax, this is one book that’s impossible to put down. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers then buckle up, it’s a thrilling ride you don’t want to miss!

As a mom, the feeling of your baby missing is nerve wrecking. And to be by yourself on a plane you’d think it would be safe enough to step away for a mere minute or two to the bathroom while they are sleeping. This book was riveting.
