Across the Ages was another amazing book in a series of amazing books. I love these time crossing stories! This time the main character is living the life of a pirate and the daughter of a preacher. Can you get any more different?

I have a hard time reviewing this one, because it’s so good, but I also don’t want to give anything away. Each timeline comes with a lot of difficult decisions to make and opportunities for Caroline to chart her own course and make some pretty big decisions. She’s faced with moral dilemmas and questions about God. I love how the author shares a journey of learning more about the nature of God and having faith in him. It’s pretty amazing to me that such a great story is told and faith is woven into it so naturally. I love how it ended! 💕

This was one of my most anticipated book releases of the year and I was not disappointed in the least! When I pick up a book in the Timeless series by Gabrielle Meyer, I automatically know I’m going to love it! They are the kind of books I continue to think about long after I’ve finished reading them. She combines original, captivating main characters with a unique plot, inspiring faith, compelling love stories, and interesting history so well.👏🏼

I was completely invested in Caroline’s story from the very beginning which has been rare for me lately! I really liked her character from the start and found her story so interesting. I knew the moment she stepped foot on that pirate ship that this was going to be a hard book to put down and it was! And the second the hero made his entrance into the book, I knew I was going to love his character. I don’t want to spoil anything but he was absolutely wonderful and I loved his character so much!
The romance was so beautiful and sweet! I loved this couple so much!❤️

The setting and history in this book was seriously so neat! I’ve never read a book quite like Across the Ages which I loved! It was unique and unpredictable.
The faith was so beautifully woven into this story and definitely a highlight of the book for me!

In conclusion, Across the Ages was another amazing book in the Timeless series! I seriously never want this series to end and I can’t wait for the next book! If you’re looking for a book you won’t be able to put down that includes the perfect amount of plot twists, action, history, romance, and faith, I highly recommend this one!

Gabrielle Meyer does not disappoint with this new book! One day in 1727 and the next day, it's 1927. Very different eras and very different plots. In the beginning, I wasn't sure which side I liked more. Then I found myself wanting to stay in 1727. Caroline has this gift that allows her to live two lives. In the 1727 life, she is on a ship with pirates searching for her mother.. In the 1927 life, she's looking for answers to her double life. Both lives experience love, heartache, and hard choices. It's worth the read!

Once again, this author brings history to life in a unique manner. The characters, their dilemma, and the historical events captivated me and refused to let go. The story begins in Minnesota in 1927. Readers meet the daughter of a famous preacher who draws enormous crowds to his services. Caroline struggles with her faith in both her public and private lives, battling the expectation of perfection. I like the emphasis on Lindberg's aviation feats during this period. Despite being the fourth novel in the timeless series, this one fascinated me.

In both timelines, Caroline makes a mistake. In 1727, Caroline embarks on a voyage to the Bahamas, assuming the role of a cabin boy and attempting to reconnect with her mother. She tries to think and act like a cabin boy, but she becomes attached to this ruthless yet stunning pirate, and she has no idea how to escape the web she has created. Caroline is determined to find the truth about her mother.

In addition to liking the pirate theme in the 1927 timeline, I could identify with Caroline's troubles with her faith and her father's expectations. I enjoyed the book's natural spiritual thread; heartbreaking honesty and possibilities for contemplation were all elements that drew me in. I also felt a sense of urgency for Caroline because, in this novel, she has no guide to explain why she travels through time or why she must choose one life over the other by her 21st birthday.

This is a fascinating story that can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them in order; you’ll be glad you did.

I look forward to reading book 5 in this series titled Every Hour until Then. Available May 20, 2025

The more I read the Timeless series, the more I want the concept of time-crossing to be true. This is due to the outstanding stories that Gabrielle Meyer writes along with the elaborate yet understandable system of rules that is in place. Each book brings about more characters to fall in love with, and Caroline is no exception. Seeing her tenacity in figuring out what her lives mean while faithfully trusting God in the unknown is both remarkable and inspiring. As always, the settings that are chosen for the time-crossers are absolutely suited to their personalities, making each life even more riveting to read. Only Caroline could endure the hardships while being held captive among pirates and, at the same time, live in the shadow of a renowned preacher and the exacting standards involved in that lifestyle.

I loved getting to experience the worlds of piracy and Prohibition which at first glance seem to be polar opposites from each other. However, the author is so skilled in bringing history to life that more attention is paid to the motivations of people living in these times rather than just their external circumstances. It is this mastery that makes Across the Ages even more of an immersive reading experience where we can draw similarities from both historical eras. Readers wanting to see what happens following For a Lifetime will be pleased to continue this journey, making this series a riveting demonstration of God's sovereignty over all of history.

Oh my gosh. Just. Wow. I seriously don’t have words. I have loved every book in this series, but Gabrielle really hit it out of the park with this one. I mean- I have two words that I am certain will convince you to read this: Scottish! Pirate! 😍😍😍
Ya. I know. Swooooooooon!!!! It was the book boyfriend I didn’t even know I needed 😂😂
But besides the swoony pirate with a Scottish brogue, this book was incredible in so many other ways. I love the strong Christian themes in this series and this one was so beautiful. Redemption and repentance were so crucial to the roles of so many characters, and I loved it.

I 100000% recommend this book, and will definitely be recommending it to all. Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced copy. All gushing is given freely.

Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer is number four in the Timeless series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. Caroline lives both in 1727 and 1927. She goes to sleep in one time and wakes up in the other time never missing a day in either. She wonders why and can not figure out why she is the only person this is happening too until she finds a letter from her mom revealing she may not be alone.

This was a wonderful romantic historical adventure! (I might have thrown all my thoughts of tomorrow aside and stayed up way to late to finish.) I was so intrigued with Caroline and her life as a cabin boy for a pirate and her life as a preacher’s daughter during prohibition. The story was so engaging and well written. I pictured myself in each time line with Caroline as the author drew me in with historical details that brought the story to life. The faith piece was so well written and the redemptive theme of the book spoke to my heart.

This is a beautiful story with redemptive themes, great adventures, and sweet romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and am thankful that there is another book in the series. This will be a favorite of 2024 for me! I very highly recommend!

Across the Ages might be my favorite in Gabrielle Meyer’s Timeless series so far!  The two eras, 1727 and 1927, complement each other well with pirates and gangsters, and both of Caroline’s paths are captivating—though I definitely had a favorite and I was very pleased with the ending...but no spoilers here!  I was excited to see some familiar characters and meet several new ones who I hope get their own stories.  I know Meyer has at least a couple more planned, but I would read this series forever.  As someone who went through obsessive phases about so many historical events, I appreciate that this series has included history from some of those phases as well as exploring events I didn’t know about.  That’s what makes a good story, and I definitely recommend this series!  4.5/5 stars

This time travel series is unlike any other. I love the aspects of faith intertwined. The idea of living in two timelines is fascinating,

Caroline lives in both 1927 during prohibition and the Jazz age, rubbing shoulders with Charles Lindbergh and Ernest Hemingway. In her life in 1727, she runs away from a forced marriage and hides on a ship which is eventually overrun by pirates and she is forced on the pirates ship. She wants to find her mother and finds help in unexpected places.

As she tries to unravel the truth surrounding her mother, she learns more about her time shifting and realizes she is running out of time with an important decision to make.

Caroline is embroiled in mysteries in both her worlds. She finds herself keeping secrets, but she also finds love and help in unexpected places.

Gabrielle Meyer is a master of these time travel stories and has built a beautiful lore surrounding them. The stories are well written and both timelines are fully developed and both have something that would draw Caroline to stay there,

I was drawn in quickly and couldn't put this one down. I look forward to reading more of these, I hope she keeps writing them as long as they continue to tell such compelling historical stories, giving me a glimpse of what the world might have been like at that time. I highly recommend this glimpse into two very different yet similar timelines. I love the leaning into faith and the integrity of the Christian writing.

I received an early copy from the publisher and this is my honest review,

Loved it! This series is so good. The history is so fun to learn and I loved the relationship with the wonderful Scottish pirate. Sigh*

This story follows two timelines one in 1727 and the other in 1927. Each time in history deals with timely issues of the era and the author weaves these into the story creating struggles that the main character must overcome. Caroline is a time-crosser just as her mother was and her relatives before her. She works to find her mother in hopes of reconnecting and answering questions in regard to this unique ability. In 1727 we find Caroline on a ship disguised as a pirate in order to gain passage and escape her dire situation. In 1927 prohibition era, Caroline is the daughter of a preacher and has siblings with questionable actions for their time. Both scenarios have Caroline questioning her choices and wondering which time in history she should belong. The author does a nice job of interjecting God's grace into the story and Carolines actions proves love does conquer all. A feel good read for historical fiction/romance readers.

If you grew up obsessed with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise like I did, you are going to LOVE Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer! I quite literally struggled to put it down as Gabrielle Meyer weaved a tale of pirate adventure, intense emotions, hard decisions, faith struggles, and family tension. The characters struggle with very real issues with their faith, especially given the circumstances of our main female character’s life, and it was beautiful to see them realize just how close God is and how faithful and true His love is.

This entire novel moved me in ways I didn’t expect. I was particularly moved by Caroline’s parents in her 1927 St. Paul, Minnesota life. It was such a beautiful look at what a life truly sacrificed to Christ can look like. The grace, forgiveness, and love they portrayed was a beautiful portrait of Christ and left me longing for Heaven even more. At the same time, my heart ached for the characters we met along her path in 1727. I too once felt as if I was too far gone for the love of Christ - so entrapped in my sin with no other way forward than to continue the path I was on. Just like some of our characters in 1727, I was not left where I was and my life too was transformed by the powerful love of the Gospel.

The romance in this novel is so sweet. It included some of my absolute favorite tropes! I was cheering for one particular guy from the very beginning but both sides of her story were fun to read.

I was pleasantly surprised to run into a familiar face or two and was delighted to learn more about some beloved characters' stories from novels past! The way Gabrielle Meyer weaves her stories and her timelines together is so beautiful and is such a delight to read!

Thanks to the publisher’s generosity, I received a complimentary copy of this novel. All opinions expressed in this review are truly my own and a positive review was not required.

What a fantastic read! It had everything I could ask for: complex characters, a wonderful romance, vivid historical detail, adventure and intrigue, and a masterful storytelling approach that made it a real page-turner. I read it in one sitting, completely absorbed in the world the author had expertly crafted.

I really enjoyed both time periods: pirates in 1727, as well as gangsters and the prohibition era of 1927. Each era was well researched, and the changing time periods flowed seamlessly.

Across the Ages has strong faith themes throughout of redemption, mercy, and forgiveness, which I thought were beautifully done.

If you're looking for a unique and captivating time travel romance series, I highly recommend this one!

This was really enjoyable! I've read all the books in this series but the previous one. And feel like they could be read as standalones but better if you read the first one maybe? I love the different time frames we got in this plus our main character is such a sweetheart.

I, especially, love the Pirate time frame. I was really digging that vibe. I'm glad we don't get a love triangle but I still kind of rooted for a guy in one of the time frames but I still loved the other one even more. This was just a fun adventure. It started to feel a little long and drug out a bit toward the end but that may be more of a me thing. But overall, I really enjoyed it and the characters. It did have a couple "preachy-ish" moments but they're very small and still found it enjoyable/good reminders.

'No matter how hard I tried to forget, the reality of my life was still with me--or rather, the reality of my lives.'

Where oh where do I start with this book?!?!?!

If you haven't been reading this series I cannot recommend them enough. Every single one has been completely amazing and such a work of art-in storylines, characters arcs, relationships, redemption and hope.

I have loved learning about each timeline of history that every character from this series has lived in. Each one is brought to life by the author and you feel completely immersed and invested in the lives of these characters.

This particular story has one set of parents who are preachers and in her other timeline she comes from thieves. It's such a unique plot line and I loved watching Caroline navigate between both. She is good to the core and I loved getting to know her.

It's always hard to review these books because I do not want to give even the slightest bit of information away.

Read this one for the experiences, historical settings, swoon worthy romance and seeing hope in every situation.

This is a top favorite from 2024! All of the stars, two thumbs up, the highest of recommendations!

I was worried that because I haven’t read all the other books in this series that I’d be lost at first. But I had no trouble at all falling into this lovely story!

Set in two different time periods, this story is about Caroline who wakes up every other day in 1727 and alternates the other days in 1927. She has family and a life in both time periods. The question is–which one does she belong in?

Time travel romance is one of my favorite genres and I love the way Meyer built the logistics of this particular time travel. Putting myself in Caroline’s shoes–I could see how frustrating it could be to not be able to control your travel. But also, to know where you’re going to end up every day–as opposed to how other authors deal with time travel–was very intriguing.

The characters in this book were multidimensional. And I loved the actual historical references in the vein of famous faces–this was quite the treat for this history-loving reader.

This is a story with a “religious” theme to it. Faith definitely plays a part in Caroline’s journey. Personally, I can relate to that. But if that’s not something that will resonate with you, this is just a warning.

By the ending of this story, I was hoping for the outcome that we got! It felt complete and perfect! This one definitely made me want to go back and read the others in this series that I’ve missed.

In this novel we get to follow the life of Caroline and her adventures in 1727 and 1927. I just love these novels and with each one you get more and more vested into this family of time travelers. Caroline has decided she cannot take it with her grandfather anymore, and after finding a hidden letter from her mother she decides to find her way to Nassau to find her. Caroline in 1927 has a preacher father and lives by strict code to keep their family image in tact. However as with all families, there are many secrets and if any of those get out, it could be devastating. When she gets to Nassau in 1727 she is disappointed in what she finds out about her mother and isn't sure what to do with her life, although she finds that the answers she needs now might lie back in 1927. Back in the life where image is everything and she will only find her answers in the underground of illegal activity and just hopes no one recognizes her. Will she find the answers she needs to understand her life as a time crosser? With her looming birthday what will happen? This novel was so good! I loved all the history all the sea adventure and Caroline's story. I am excited to see who the next novel is about. Thank you to to the author for allowing me to be a part of the launch team and for the complementary novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

I absolutely love this series and Gabrielle Meyer nailed it again. These timeless romances are just so good. I always think I know what they will choose but then I am surprised at the end.

This book absolutely lived up to all of the hype! Gabrielle Meyer has woven a captivating story that kept me engaged from the very first page.
Well-rounded characters, swoony romance, fascinating history, spellbinding storytelling...this book has it all!
I read this in one sitting! I picked it up and could not put it down!
This whole series is such a unique and fresh take on time travel romance.

“Everything about my life was one secret built upon another. A fortress of mysteries too high to breach. Some were the secrets I kept, and others were the secrets kept from me.”
Phenomenal story that captures the imagination with a unique premise that kept me turning pages. Caroline Reed lives two lives simultaneously in two different eras but no one believes her. She wonders if it is a blessing or a curse because there is no one to guide her as other time-crossers had. When she finds a letter from her mother, she goes on a quest.
The author drew on a lot of interesting history in each timeline: Pirates in 1727 and Prohibition, spiritual revival and infamous criminals in 1927. It was fascinating to go back and forth to see how these events connected.
The characters were well-rounded. My favorite was Marcus, the pirate and the 1727 time period was my favorite as well. Marcus was very noble and wanted to forsake piracy and live a more upright life. He grew in his walk with God and learned to rely on His leading. Caroline grew up as the daughter of a famous preacher in 1927. But putting her faith into action was difficult for her because of the compelling search to find her origins as a time-crosser.
If you like unusual but fascinating time-crossing stories, do not miss this book or series. I loved them all.
