Across the Ages is another brilliant addition to the awesome Timeless series by a super gifted storyteller who once again makes time-crossing believable! As with all the other books in the series, I was completely immersed in this story from beginning to end. Imagine living two lives simultaneously—one on a pirate ship in the Caribbean in 1727 and the other in the USA in 1927! The twist in this fourth story is that Caroline Reed/ Baldwin starts out with no idea why she has what she considers a “curse” and is clueless as to how it works. The story that unfolds is her desperate search for answers about her past, present, and future. Two well-paced storylines, wonderful characters, amazing history, sweet romance, and valuable faith lessons with themes of redemption and forgiveness combine to make an unputdownable, inspiring read. This book joins the other three books of the series on my Best Reads Ever list! I highly recommend this book and the series as must reads for dual-timeline, time travel, and/or historical romance fans!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews for my honest opinion.

I definitely enjoyed this read more than the prior installment, which frankly relieved me. I adored books 1 and 2, but 3 defo wasn’t my jam - so I was a little nervous picking this one up.
I was glad I’d literally just finished 3 before diving into this one; I felt a lot more connections between 3 and 4 than with the other books - passing references or Easter eggs earlier were nearly outright “it’d be helpful if you read 3 before picking up 4” here. I was also disappointed that the MC didn’t have a fellow time-traveling guide to help her and answer questions (another divergence from prior installments, and it didn’t play out well for me - it just made me nervous!). I’m not quite sure why the author decided to go either route so late in (at the end of, really) the series.
But, I did really enjoy the two timelines, and geeked out a little as I love “Pirates of the Caribbean” probably more than I should, haha.
I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I’m very disappointed to say that I didn’t enjoy this installment in the series. There’s nothing I love more than the idea of the 1920s and pirates. I was so excited when I got approved on NetGalley to review the ebook.
I feel like my major concern came from how disconnected from the rest of the series it felt. It felt more like a spin off than I direct sequel. I didn’t like that Caroline had no connection to another time traveler for guidance. The fact she didn’t know the rules, took away that suspense of knowing how each action matters and that you can possibly lose a timeline because of your actions and the birthday rules. By time Caroline finally learned that, it felt rushed and too late.
I knew what the historical notes were supposed to be paralleled with, but I also never found myself feeling like I was in those historical timelines like I did with the other books. It felt more name dropping to make it feel like the timeline instead of really setting the scene.
Last but not least, I know it’s Christian fiction, but this definitely had a heavier hand/lean on the Christian “speak” especially with her father being a preacher in the 1927 timeline. So just a fair warning if that’s not something you enjoy.
Apparently this series was going to end with book 3 until there was feedback from fans to have this book. Part of me just wished it stayed 3 books. While it was a just fine book, it missed the mark with the bar the other 3 books set. I just expected something more after it being delivered in the rest of the series.
I’d still 100% recommend this series, but this one just wasn’t as good as it could have been to meet my expectations.

I loved a lot of this -
🤍Thank you Gabrielle Meyer for the arc of this book 🤍
This author has a way of just immersing readers in her stories! She effortlessly combines two timelines and takes you on an emotional and beautiful adventure.
I loved the cast of characters in Across the Ages. Not to mention that the storyline kept me on the edge of my seat until the end.
I will definitely read more from this author!
My only complaint was the religious aspect of this story, I felt like it was used to escape digging into some hard things and made the FMC a little rigid in her personality.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★/5
Steam: kissing

From the creaking timbers and salty sea air aboard an 18th-century pirate ship to the glittering but dangerous speakeasies of the roaring twenties, Gabrielle Meyer’s newest novel takes us on an unforgettable time-traveling adventure!
Across the Ages is the fourth book in Meyer’s Timeless Series, and while book one is hard to beat, this latest novel is vying closely for the spot of my new favorite!
Caroline lives in both 1727 and 1927. Each night she goes to sleep in one life and wakes up in the other. Searching for answers, Caroline stumbles across a letter from her mother, hinting at her own experiences as a time-crosser, sending Caroline on a quest to uncover the truth.
This book was nearly impossible to put down. While this is the fourth book in the series (and I highly recommend reading them all in order) Meyer still manages to bring something fresh and unique. In this book, we have our first time-crosser who has grown up without any guidance or understanding about how time-crossing works — and this adds a new element to the story.
The 1727 and 1927 settings are detail-rich and well-researched and Meyers always brings some fun historical nuggets to uncover along the way. Both storylines are equally compelling and full of their own heartfelt drama, making for a quick-paced read that left me needing to finish “just one more chapter!”
I also loved how we got to see some familiar characters from the past. (No spoilers!) Meyers weaves these timelines and books together expertly and always manages to come up with some brilliant new time-traveling twist or detail to surprise me. As the series continues, it’s fun to see all the connections and links line up.
Across the Ages has a strong Christian faith arc woven throughout (perhaps more so than any of the previous novels in the series) and I appreciated the beautiful themes of redemption, forgiveness, and what it means to live life faithfully for the glory of God alone. The love story is clean and sweet, and provides all the feelings of anticipation that one expects in a romance.
With its joy-filled romances and well-plotted storylines, this series has earned an easy spot in my heart and bookshelf. Cozy and bright, this feel-good story was just as bingeable as the previous books in this series. I am very much looking forward to continuing this series for as long as Meyers continues to write them!

I have eagerly awaited each and every one of these books as they have been released. I've been blessed to get several of them early through ARC's. Including this one.
Across the Ages delves into a little different direction as it doesn't follow a descendant of a previous main character--but it DOES follow someone who was referenced in the previous book. The previous book revealed some VERY interesting information regarding the time travelers (I won't spoil it by mentioning in case you haven't read it yet)--and this book follows THAT line. And the idea of "What if the girl experiencing this doesn't know why it's happening or what happens when she turns 21?"
I really enjoyed the pirate side of this story AND how everything (as usual) circles around for the characters in both timelines. I also appreciate that there is ALWAYS a faith message embedded in this series. This particular book was more about redemption and living for God no matter what.
I think I preferred the previous 3 books to this one--but only by a smidge. And I will eagerly be awaiting the next ones!
4.5 stars (but 5 for the sake of NetGalley)
*I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher and NetGalley to review. All opinions are 100% my own.

This was another beautiful story in the Timeless series! The characters developed beautifully and I really enjoy every one of these books. If you like historical fiction with a little bit of time travel then you must read these books.

Oh my heart! This book is breathtaking. From the first page, you’ll be enthralled by pirates, gangsters, big adventure, and great love. Timeless is one of my all time favorite series — and Across the Ages just might be the best one yet! Highly recommend!

Really creative take on dual-timeline and time traveling. I enjoyed the story, and seeing both times of pirates in 1727, as well as the prohibition era of 1927. And the tension of Caroline having to function in both those times was done really well, both trying to disguise herself in the earlier time with the pirates, and in navigating her family dynamics in the latter.
I thought the writing was really good, and the depth of characters was also excellently done. The concept of shame and feeling stuck in your mistakes and bad decisions, and accepting God’s redemption was also well done and relatable.
All in all, I had a very hard time putting this down and loved all the elements in it. Really enjoyed it.
Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are mine.

Even though Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer had a beautiful ending, I hope the author continues this series as I enjoy these romps through time far too much!
Throughout this book I kept asking myself, what would I do if I lived two lives like Caroline? Would I choose to stay in the time when the convenience of things like hot water, cars and electricity made life easier? Or would I choose love and give up all that? I have read all the books in this series and I knew Caroline would have to choose before her 21st birthday. And this is where this book takes a different path - Caroline doesn’t know a thing about the time-travelling rules and throughout the book you are biting your nails hoping she figures it out fast as the days get closer to her birthday. I could not put this book down!
The romance was awesome, as was the faith element. The message of redemption was well done, and I appreciated it.
While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you buy all three books. Why deprive yourself of this incredible series? I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House Publishers through NetGalley for my honest review.

Another great novel in this series. So different from the others--again. This one had a few more tie-ins to the previous novel. The main character in this novel was really on a search for who she was in God’s eyes. The difficult romance choice was much different in this story and I liked how that wasn’t such a central focus for this book. Both time lines she lived in had fascinating historical things that I learned so much about. Both time lines delt with difficult issues and the overwhelming arc of God’s forgiveness was strong. Fantastic read!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Every time I read one of gabrielle meyers books, I love being swept away to two different time periods, and she is so great at bringing them alive! The way she weaves together 1927 era prohibition and 1727 pirating on the high seas-what else could you want from a story? I loved the messages of faith too, there were a few scenes that made me tear up, in fact. Read this for the:
-immaculate historical vibes-you can tell she does her research!
-redemption and also whatever the opposite of redemption is
-the most handsome heart of gold pirate that ever pirated
-speakeasy adventures and pirate ship shenanigans

Another incredible book in the Timeless Series! I have read all of them and they are consistently impressive storylines, interesting settings, moving moments and decisions to make, and always well written. I can't get enough of these books!

Across the Ages was an extremely satisfying addition to the Timeless series. The books have me captivated! I was literally bouncing in my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen to Caroline!
Plotline wise, Caroline was a compelling character and I was rooting for her at every turn. My heart ached along with her during the hard times, and I cheered when she succeeded.
Without spoiling anything, as a history buff there were certain characters mentioned that I went, "Hey! I know who that is!" And I loved it. I also always love little Easter eggs sprinkled in about other books and characters.
Overall, this was a five star read for me!

Very well written book. Enticing plots and Caharcters .A most read. I loved the plot and the characters

This book is INCREDIBLE! Gabrielle Meyer did it again and wrote another amazing installment to her "Timeless" series with "Across the Ages". I'm so glad the publisher, Bethany House gave the green light for Meyer to write more of these books and am excited for more to come. I finished this book within 24 hours of starting it and had a hard time putting it down to be a responsible adult! These are time slip novels where the heroine falls asleep in one timeline and moments later awakes in the other.
This one is set in 1727 and 1927 in the eras of pirates and prohibition. This heroine, Caroline doesn't know why she is the way she is so unlike the other books she doesn't have a guide so is on a quest for answers. She finds a clue in the 1727 timeline and the story takes off from there.
This book, like the others is very faith filled. God truly is at the center of what she does and through her experiences with characters in both timelines, she learns more about herself and her Creator. The author's research was so good and she really brought these eras to life for the reader, even when full of danger and things that would bring despair to the reader. The epilogue at the end also gives the reader an insight to the characters, some of who were loosely based on real historical figures and is very well worth reading after you finish the novel.
There are so many twists and turns the reader is left guessing what will happen next. I enjoyed seeing how Caroline chose her final timeline and who she met along the way. There may even be some cameos from previous characters in the series.
This book is best read as the fourth in the series. I've read all four books and strongly suggest that anyone looking to read this books, reads the previous three to fully understand this character and her book. The series really builds upon itself and is well worth the time to read.
Thank you to Bethany House and Netgalley for an opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Gabrielle Meyers Time Crosser series is a page turner that can't be missed.
Caroline doesn't know why, but for as long as she can remember, she has
known two lives. In 1727, she lives on a plantation with a strict grandfather
who has plans for her marriage. But Caroline has other plans when she runs
away and eventually lives aboard a pirate ship disguised as a young cabin
boy. At midnight, Caroline crosses over to 1927 and lives the life of a preacher's
daughter. Who sings like an angel but longs to be like everyone else. Caroline
believes that she is the only time crosser and wonders if there are answers just
out of her reach. A book about forgiveness and making changes. What a great
series. I hope there will be another story in this series.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Caroline holds a deep secret. Living in 1727 and 1927 simultaneously, each night she goes to sleep in one life and wakes up in the other. In search of answers to her unique existence, Caroline stumbles upon a letter from her mother hinting at her own experiences as a time-crosser, sending Caroline on a daring quest to uncover the truth. In 1727, Caroline disguises herself as a cabin boy and joins a ship sailing for the Bahamas, her mother's last known location, where she crosses paths with a ruthless but handsome pirate and is caught in a web of secrets, deception, and unexpected alliances.
Across the Ages is the fourth book in the Timeless series. While there are some references to previous characters in the series and there may be a few spoilers to such, this could probably be enjoyed as a standalone as well. That said, it's a wonderful series and absolutely worth reading in its entirety.
This is my favorite in the series! Caroline's parents in 1927 were such a wonderful example of practicing what you preach, and I just found myself loving everything about this book so much. This one absolutely cannot be missed.

Love this series so much!!! I will read anything she writes!! It kept me on the edge of my seat.,. And the romance was so beautiful!

I was very excited when I saw this book. I just had to grab it.
This is such an awesome series! Very exciting too!
Pirates, treasure off the coast of Florida wow!
I was drawn into this adventure book from the beginning. I lost a whole evening with this adventure.
I really enjoyed in getting to know each of these characters.
Can you imagine living 2 separate lives? I sure can't. That's why I think time traveling would be fun. I'd like to know what Florida be really like in those days.
I was tickled pink about this novel. I live in Florida now and love learning about it.
Lots.of twists and turns to keep me turning the pages.
I think I loved 1727 better. It was more exciting than 1927.in my opinion.
Lots of famous people woven in to make a wonderful rollercoaster ride that I won't soon forget.
I was sad when the story ended. I sighed in satisfaction.
Meyer did an awesome job of describing Marcus and Caroline that I could actually picture them in my mind.
I want to make mention another reason I love this series so much was the author used the main characters' point of view. For this I feel like I can connect to them much better.
There's treasure all around us. We just need to open our eyes and look around us.
Thanks Mrs. Meyer! Please keep these wonderful adventures coming!
5 stars from me. I loved every minute of it.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
