Wow! This series continues to get better and better. I got a deeper look at the purposes and personalities of the Imposters as well as their alter egos.

I loved learning more about Yates and the man he is. Full of honor, and bravery, he will do what it takes to keep his family safe and bring justice to those that have no advocate. He’s also happy and brings joy to those around him.

Lavinia has been a friend to the Fairfax siblings for as long as she can remember. When her family fell apart they were there for her but now with Merigold married, and six years between a teenaged kiss from Yates, a long term illness, and new case involving a woman Yates is interested in, can she hold onto the woman she wants to be or will she sink back into the shadows?

This book was well plotted, painted a picture of the people and places that put you right in the scene, and had enough action to keep me turning the pages. There was also a thread of faith pointing to the One who guided their steps and spurred them toward success. Wonderful series. I recommend this book.

I was given a copy courtesy of Bethany House through NetGalley and Interviews and Reviews. This is my honest opinion of the book.

"An Honorable Deception", book 3 in Roseanna White's 'The Imposters" series, was enjoyable, but is not my favorite of White's stories. Very likely, this stems from it being the first book in this series that I have read. I suspect it would fare much better if the series was read in order, rather than as a stand-alone. The premise of "The Imposters" is a bit far-fetched. (Impoverished gentry in Edwardian England run a secret private investigation agency using theatrical and circus skills they developed in their odd childhoods). Although it is explained in this book for the new reader, it is done briefly. I suspect I would have accepted it more readily in the first book where the buildup would be more detailed. Also, quite a bit of the relationship aspect depends on the pasts of Yates and Lavinia, which also was covered in earlier books and a bit thin here.

None the less, the characters are quite winning, and the plot, though disturbing, is intriguing. It was certainly more than worth my time, but if it intrigues you, I would strongly recommend starting at book 1.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest opinion.

Wow. An Honorable Deception was a bit of a roller coaster for me. I definitely had thoughts going in...and was a little scared how things were going to turn out. But, of course, Roseanna M. White worked everything out right in the end!

Yates was a character I adored throughout the series; I eagerly awaited more of his story in this final book and I wasn't disappointed! I loved Alethia and the complexity of her character, as well as the similarities her and Lavinia had. Lavinia and Alethia's stories both had my chest tightening in sympathy.

This book had oomph. That's the only way I can think of to describe it. It was definitely heavier in some of the topics, but I feel like Roseanna dealt with those topics really well.

I loved this book so much. Easy five stars for me.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

*Note: I'm editing this review a month after reading this book because I can't stop think about it! I had an epiphany moment where I realized I was like Lavinia; it changed my whole view on life. I connected so deeply to her in strange and inexpressible ways and since the first reading of An Honorable Deception, I have re-read majority of the book about four times. Can I give a book six stars? Because this one gets it.

AN HONORABLE DECEPTION is the third novel in the Inposters series by Roseanna M White, but it can easily stand alone. I have ejoyed the whole series for the great characters and the strong Christian message.
The story starts with Lady Alethia Barremore, the daughter of the former viceroy of India, employing Mr A of the Imposters Ltd, to find her ayah, Samira, who has disappeared in London. Alethia and Samira share a dreadful secret and there are men who are willing to kill to keep Alethia silent, as Yates finds out when she is shot after their meeting. He takes her to Fairfax Tower in Northumberland to keep her safe and where she meets the rest of the Imposters, their friends, the circus people and animals ……..
The book is very well written with some humour balancing out the heavier parts, strong camaraderie amongst friends, some cmplicated romance, and the seriousness and danger intrinsic to righting the wrongs in society. It is a most enjoyable, well rounded and exciting story, and one I cannot recommend highly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

The Imposters are back! And their newest job takes them into the darkest places in London to free the innocent. With Yates leading the ever-growing team, he must not only help the new client before them, but also decide the direction of his own future.
After such satisfying stories for the ladies in the previous books, it was time to focus on Yates to cinch the series. It was thrilling to be back at the Fairfax estate, with characters familiar and new, the menagerie of animals, and a fresh, new case to investigate. Although the crew is led to disturbing places, the author handled it with great care and tact. There is a definite Christian point of view that gives proper perspective to the evil the group encounters. I also loved the incorporation of characters from the Shadows Over England series. You will not notice anything amiss if you have not read those books, but it was a nice little Easter egg for those of us who have.
I appreciated that the book carried the same “voice” as the previous ones in the series, which pulled me quickly into Imposters mode. The author perfectly recapped background information by weaving it into the first few chapters, which brought it all immediately back to mind. The adventure unfolded smoothly from there, surprising me when I realized I was already near the end.
You could read this book as a stand alone novel, but I recommend reading the entire series to get the full story. I have become so invested in these characters that they almost feel real, and I would love for them to cameo in other books. For the most fun, riveting, satisfying mysteries you will ever have the pleasure of solving, there’s nothing like the Imposters.

An Honorable Deception is the third book in The Imposters series. While I would recommend reading the previous books so you will have a better understanding of who The Imposters are and their history, I do believe this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.

Roseanna M. White has created such an intriguing world in this series. She beautifully weaves history with unique characters and adventure that I cannot help but be drawn into this world each time. This one was no exception--- though admittedly it was a bit of a harder one to read, just because of the subject matter. While I don't want to give too much away, do be aware that this story does deal with human trafficking, though it does so with sensitivity and without explicit detail. Still, that again just made it an emotionally tougher one... but an important story to be told for sure. If you love historical romance that doesn't shy away from the tougher topics, this is absolutely one you'll want to add to you TBR.
