Right off the bat this book wasn't for me but I really did try to give it my best effort. Manwhore hero and a standard quiet yet damaged heroine that the hero wants to protect. Of course heroine walks in on him with a groupie and it left a dirty shiver in my body. I really just never felt a connect between the characters either. Jon the hero really felt on the verge of becoming some really crazed and abusive man-child.

I really really wanted to like this novel. And I think that had I read it when it first came out, I would've probably had some quibbles with it, but ultimately, I would've enjoyed it. Now though, this many years into reading NA and contemporary romance it isn't as sophisticated and polished and as well edited as what I've come to require. If this writer is still writing, I bet I'd enjoy her work all of these years later, with more writing under her belt.
