The third part of the All Souls series. Diana and Matthew are back from Elizabeth's London, with two additions that add a kind of intensity to the blood and book problems that already exist.
The story is even more intense and faster and more confusing than it was in the first two books. The information thrown into the air by the second book and the whims of the new content lines are explained in this book - some of them are terrifying, others are sweet. All this explanation and justification of the ancient traditions and rules that govern beings can make reading tedious, but without understanding it, one cannot understand why it all goes the way it does. The world is largely ruled by fear of the unknown, and the natural reflex of beings in meeting the unknown is to shoot first and ask questions later.
This third part reminded me of J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
Good reading, offering both excitement and entertainment.

this was a satisfying ending to the trilogy. Harkness did an excellent job tying all the pieces together. I really like the connection of science and magic.

I loved this series! The Book Of Life concluded the All Souls trilogy where Diana and Matthew uncover the mystery of the Book of Life and bring their twins to our world. The world of Creatures and their family are brought together to prove they can bring good into the world together rather than apart as individual species.

This is the final book in the Book of Life trilogy. Harkness gets bogged down in explanations and details, which made it hard to follow at times. Some of the descriptions I just skimmed over. I feel like this book did not tie up all the loose ends or answer any questions for a final book in a trilogy.
