In The Love Lyric, the main character works for a skincare company and is in charge of a publicity stint with their brand ambassador, a hot new R&B singer who she has been told not to date. So I am sure you can see where this is going. I read the previous book in this series about the Greene sisters with flower names and I loved being back in their world. It was a sweet romance with the twist of it being a single mom and a celebrity. Nothing felt forced, the feelings and conversations were so natural and realistic and it gave me the warm fuzzies.

This was the third in the series and it can be read as a stand alone, which was good because I have only read the first one
But this was cute.
Angel is a popular musician whose stylist Violet is Iris's sister. They meet and Angel and iris get together despire Iris not wanting to date because of her late husband. Good forced proximity, slow burn( my fav) and he falls first romance. And it was open door! Again so cute. T
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exachange for an honest review.

As a long-time fan of this series, I was delighted by how The Love Lyric deepened its exploration family, sisterhood and personal growth, all set against the backdrop of a “forbidden” love. Iris, the eldest Greene sister, embarks on a transformative journey from grief to embracing romance once again, while Angel’s struggles with family tensions and staying true to his creative path provide a poignant contrast to Iris’s evolving journey.
At its core, this novel is about healing, self-discovery, and acceptance. Angel’s open-hearted pursuit of Iris contrasts with her initial hesitation, but his consistent patience and warmth encourage her to embrace the new possibilities their blossoming relationship offers. As their connection evolves, Angel finds solace in Iris’s unwavering support amidst his struggle to authentically represent himself as a musical artist all while facing pushback from his family. Meanwhile, Iris learns to be open to love again in unexpected ways through his steady presence.
Their heartfelt connection made the book a joy to read.
I also loved revisiting the sisters from previous books and seeing how their partners have become an integral part of the Greene family dynamic.
This highly anticipated release was well worth the wait.
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for providing the ARC of this story!

This was such a satisfying ending. It’s such a beloved series. I want to keep hanging with the Greene sisters and reading their love stories. Iris was such a strong female protagonist, and I loved that we got to watch her and angels love story from day one. The story was so vulnerable and riel and I definitely felt a lot of feels!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Pub for this ARC!
3.5 Stars
This was a fun and sweet story that felt like a warm cup of coffee on a winter day. Iris isn't my favorite character of the three, but I loved watching her character develop and heal through her grief.
What didn't work for me is that I found the chemistry between the characters to be lacking. Other parts there was building momentum that ended up falling flat.
Overall, I still enjoyed this read!

Yes, yes, yes!
This one was really good! Single mom falling back in love after the death of her first love. Angel was loving, caring, and patient even with some of the emotional turmoil he was facing with his mother. Iris went through so much and love was not what she was looking for. Somehow she opened herself up to love at her own pace.
Loved this!

3.5 stars *** rounded up
This was so sweet. I loved the story of Iris overcoming her grief to find love again and Angel learning to accept himself. There were some parts that dragged for me a bit, but overall this was a fun, easy read. And I loved the R&B singer aspect!!!

I absolutely loved this beautifully written second chance romance story. The writing style is easy to follow and beautiful. I also love how the author depicted the family dynamics between the siblings and parents. Part three was a fantastic wrap-up to a family love story, and Lily got her love.

Iris hasn't really dated since her husband tragically passed away in a car accident. In fact, she hasn't even been interested in anyone since Terry's passing.. That is, until her sister's wedding when she connects with Angel, an R&B star who is one of her sister's clients. Iris can't see a future with Angel - after all he's a celebrity and she's just a normal, single mom. But Angel has been name a brand ambassador for the beauty company that Iris works for and the two of them get sent on a promotional tour to launch a new product.
Overall this was an enjoyable read. There was a little bit of the forbidden romance trope here as Iris's boss warned her against getting involved with Angel prior to the tour. The two main characters had good chemistry and were well rounded characters. And I loved the cameos from the two Greene sisters who starred in the first two books of the series.
Overall: 4/5
Spice: 1.5/3

Iris is a single mom, working at a beauty company. Her company is collaborating with R&B artist, Angel - who she has met a few times over the years through her sister. Angel has expressed interest for Iris in the past, not to her knowledge though. Despite his flirtatious behavior, Iris is hoping to keep things strictly professional. She cares about her job and isn’t sure if she’s ready to consider dating again. But things don’t always go as planned.
This is my first book my Kristina Forest, and while it was part of a series, the book was easily read as a standalone. This book really has it all: character growth and development, advances to the plot that make sense, interesting back stories for the main characters, and not too spicy for me! Just right. Angel is so patient and understanding, I really appreciated his approach. Iris is relatable, as a career driven and emotionally closed off woman. I was definitely in love with the layers of this one. I also listened to this in tandem with reading, and I throughly enjoyed the narrators!

Looking for a slow burn romance that hits all the right notes? Then this new release is definitely for you!
Iris and Angel’s natural progression was a delight to follow. I really enjoyed their instant chemistry, adult communication skills, and how they were able to work through their issues or own grievances throughout the story.
This was an excellent ending to the series and I am very much looking forward to reading what Kristina has next up her sleeve!

I went into this without knowing it was the third in the series, and you can do the same, it is not needed (Although I kind of wish I had read the previous stories as those characters are great but now I know the ending). Sweet musical love story, which im always a sucker for, that is predictable but nice.

Kristina Forest has done it again! The Love Lyric was everything I wanted and more. I absolutely loved truly getting to know Iris and Angel—not just as individuals but as a couple. Their journey felt so raw and real, and I was completely invested in both of them from start to finish.
One of my favorite things about Kristina Forest’s writing is how well she develops her characters. She makes them feel like real people, with all their complexities, flaws, and emotions. And the fact that she writes in dual POV? Perfection. It really lets you get inside both main characters’ heads and understand their thoughts, feelings, and motivations. That depth made Iris and Angel’s connection even more special.

This book was so good, this series ended with such a beautiful romance. I love how every book in this series has gotten even better. Iris the fmc is a makeup and skincare marketer who is also a single mother. Angel the mmc is a popular musician whose stylist Violet(her book is the second in the series) is Iris's sister. They meet and Angel is instantly drawn to Iris despite Iris not wanting to date because of her late husband. I loved the pop star, and musician plot and the forced proximity when they both had to work together. I also really liked the side plot with Angel, his faith, and his mother, and his it was navigated in the book. The romance in this book was so sweet it was like a warm hug, it's steamy but I think the characters were perfect and gentle for each other. I like how the author handled the FMC's grief and family scenes and overall this was a well-written and lovely romance.

Grab a tissue because the tenderness Angel showed Iris was just so good. Iris was treated with so much care and concern that it almost knocked the Partner Plot out of the favorite book in the series. Both books are good but for different reasons. This book handles finding love again after losing love, as in how can you reimagine a life without someone who you still love? Angel understood that would take time and reassurance. I loved that Iris was in therapy and her growth was such great character work/development. And I'm not sure if the author is an eldest daughter, but if I had to gamble she is because this entry felt like a love letter to big sisters. You all deserve to be loved and cared for as deeply too.

okayyy yay this was so fun!! definitely my favorite in this series!! the entire time i was reading the last book i could not stop thinking about these two and how excited i was for this book and it DELIVERED!!
really famous musician is down bad for normal girl this is my dream. but i also really adored how meaningful and real this story felt!! and i loved how determined and patient angel was to win iris over (without being creepy and weird and overbearing of course!!)
overall a really great read! i do think the writing in these does tend to be more simple but i am very excited to keep up with this author and watch her grow even more!!

This is my first Kristina Forest book and it most certainly will not be my last. I’m very excited to go back and read the other Greene sisters now after reading The Love Lyric. Iris and Angel were a cute couple and I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow. This book was filled with lighthearted tender moments and overall an enjoyable read.

What are great third installment for the Greene sisters! I have loved this trio of books and how different they all were! We need more single mom representation in romance! I just loved Iris as a character. She is a great example of working mom and all the challenges that come with not only that, but being a single parent as well. I liked the little meet cute with Angel and Iris at the wedding, so they weren't total stranger when they ended up working together. The family dynamics for both of them also added another layer, Irish with her supportive sisters and parents and Angel with his strained relationship with his mother. Iris playing mama bear and sticking up for him was my favorite part and that moment when we knew she was all in, even if she wasn't ready to admit it yet.

I love love!!! and I love romance where the type A eldest daughter gets the happy ever after they deserve!!! Iris and Angel were SO sweet. Iris is a widowed, single mom, whose only focus is work and her daughter. Angel is a celebrity singer who is down BAAAD for Iris. The fact that they met years ago and he still remembers their short interaction?! Angel is instantly drawn to Iris and she’s more hesitant due to her situation. I loved how their relationship developed and how the forbidden romance (he becomes the brand ambassador for her company) comes into play. truly a lovely romance for love month!
read if you like:
- celebrity mmc
- eldest daughter romance
- single mom
- slow burn
- forbidden romance
- forced proximity

This series started out goooood. Then it got better! Then I think Kristina said, watch me save the best for last! Iris and Angel will always have a special place in my heart. Celebrity status aside, I saw so much of myself in Iris' story, it was inspiring and hopeful and I loved that she took a chance on herself to love again! Angel was a true gentleman. Patient, kind, a good listener, respectful, sexy and romantic!! These two could not be more opposite of each other on the surface but match each other's qualities head on when we get to know them deeper. This was absolutely cute, sexy, romantic and beautiful Black love story!
