What a hauntingly beautiful book!
What I always say about Ms. Linder's books is that the atmosphere she creates is impeccable. You feel like you're in the middle of the action. That is what I love most about her books. With Never Forgotten, I felt the same. While it's definitely not for the faint of heart (you should check the trigger warnings for this book), it has such a powerful message.
I didn't necessarily love the characters or the romance. But I was there for all the action and plot twists. Those were the greatest part.
A must-read for gothic romance lovers!

Content that could be heavy for some readers: kidnapping, stabbings, suicide, murders (one in particular is pretty gruesome).

This gorgeous cover art gives only a hint at the incredible beauty the pages behind it hold!

𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 is a captivating romance with page-turning elements of danger, heartache, romance, and resolve. I was pulled in quickly (what I’ve come to expect from a Hannah Linder book.)

Simon is an intriguing character, and I enjoyed his role in the story so much! I’m usually pulled closest by the female leads, but Simon is somewhat unique and something indescribable drew me to him. Georgina is easy to sympathize with, and I admired her strength. There were times I wanted to give both a good blasting (a “Snap-outta-it! moment—in a good way. Haha) to each of them and wondered how a favorable ending could be possible.

Though there are light elements of faith throughout, I wish they were a bit more robust. But with a building romance, plenty of action and danger, and a heaping helping of atmosphere, this tale is so satisfying.

First Line: He must get out of here.

I can still remember reading Hannah Linder’s debut novel Beneath his Silence, and it wasn’t so very long ago now. Is this really her *fifth* book?
Never Forgotten was another excellent Regency. I would call it a bit darker than some of the others but Girl from the Hidden Forest had a bit of a dark, Gothic tone as well.
Again, family secrets and intrigue are at the centre of the story, which also features the marriage of convenience trope. Well, sort of. It’s subverted in a way.
Recommended for lovers of Regency with a hint of mystery and fans of Julie Klassen or Sarah Ladd.

Never Forgotten

Simon left his home in England in a fury. He was not marrying Georgina. No way. He was going to America to escape his father's expectations. He didn't look back. But life events change and he found himself right where he started.

Georgina couldn't forget what happened in the library. She needed to escape but fear kept her from moving forward.

A great story. It had twists and turns in every chapter. I never could tell what was going to happen next.

I have read some of Hannah Linder's books before. She never disappoints and she always delivers.

It was difficult for me to say goodbye to Simon and Georgina. But I'm more than positive the next book of Ms. Linder's will be just as great.

This is a gothic historical and as such there is more of a dark feeling in this story. The author did a great job with contrasting the darkness and light through Simon and Genevieve.

Simon had his internal struggle of seeking revenge while not falling victim to his rage and hatred. Genevieve, while loving Simon, knew she deserved more than what he wanted to give.

When I started this story I expected a prodigal son returned story, but it was a story of trusting that God will seek justice.

If you haven’t read a book by Hannah Linder yet, I suggest you start right away. Her books have intriguing plots, flawed characters, and a message of redemption. I loved this book as Georgiana and Simon trust that all things will work out even though it was a difficult path to get there.

Georgiana Whitmore struggles with a feeling of abandonment and never really being seen for who she is. She learns a beautiful and important truth that she is never alone and God sees her. I love that she is a determined young lady who never gives up on Simon.

Simon Fancourt felt he was backed into a corner when it came to his life. His father arranged his marriage, decided his profession, and wouldn’t listen to what he wanted to do with his life. When Simon runs to America he never plans on returning. But, when circumstances change, he must return to England. he now has two adorable children who stole a piece of my heart.

Things you will love:
Gothic atmosphere
unrequited love
mystery and suspense
twists and turns
railroad
suspicious characters
faith thread
grace and forgiveness

Never Forgotten has all the Hannah Linder feels--a twisting plot, a driving hero, a loveable heroine, betrayals, danger, and love. Beyond that, Hannah has a poetic, lyrical way of shaping sentences that makes the words a joy to read.

Simon and Georgina are fantastic character. Simon's misperceptions of Georgina were written with such skill that I could feel his thoughts alongside Georgina's hurt and sympathize with both characters. A host of side characters add to the story's intrigue--and the stakes, in the case of Simon's children. Mystery and danger go hand in hand, and everyone is a suspect.

The plot, of course, was intense and enough to keep a person on the edge of their seat. The faith content was light, but present. I didn't love the intensity of the romance so much toward the end, so that is something potential readers will want to keep in mind.

Overall, Never Forgotten is a story for those who love Gothic-style Regency novels featuring heroism and love. Just be sure to have a stretch of uninterrupted time to read it. The book is hard to put down.

"Never Forgotten" is another beautiful book from author Hannah Linder! The Gothic Regency setting is described with details that help the reader to clearly picture the locations, characters, clothing, and what is happening in the story. This author always does amazing work creating wonderful and original stories with a vividness that really makes the story and it's characters feel three-dimensional and real. The characters are lovable, the speed of the plot is perfect, the romance is sweet, swoony, and emotionally deep, and the suspense is perfect. This is another 5 star read from author Hannah Linder! I love this book and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Hannah Linder's books are ones that you will love reading and will find yourself re-reading again soon! Beautiful, mysterious, and absolute perfection.

Thank you very much to the author, Barbour Publishing, and NetGalley for the wonderful opportunity of being a part of this author's team again and for providing me with a digital copy to read and review honestly.

Simon Fancourt leaves London in 1801 and disappears to America rather than marry the girl his father has chosen for him! Simon loves the new world, marries and has two children but when his wife is brutally murdered, he returns to England. Life in England is not what Simon expected! He attempts to find how the murderer was released from prison and work for justice. You will love how Georgina is still intrigued by Simon after all these years. People are not always as they appear! I enjoyed this gothic romance with lots of danger by Hannah Linder. I received a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour publishing. This is my honest opinion.

A cute read, which could have gone one of two ways - and I would have been happy with either outcome!

As a sheep farmer, I am always excited when sheep are mentioned - maybe I missed something but were they living in the backyard of a London townhouse?

Couldn't put it down! "All He Wanted was Justice. All She Wanted was His Heart." I was glued to the pages and surprised at the end. Author Hannah Linder keeps the reader guessing in this historical Regency suspense story that takes place mostly in England.

Simon Fancourt left England 12 years ago for America, rejecting his father's plans for him, including marriage to Georgina Whitmore. After his wife is attacked and murdered in America by an Englishman, he returns home with his two children John & Mercy, to seek justice. Simon finds by seeking justice, he has put his own life and those he loves in danger. He finds his life still entangled with Georgina. She is so used to those she loves leaving her, that she has vowed to remain single. Simon’s children are adorable & I loved Georgina’s relationship with them.

I enjoyed all the mystery, and suspense, and not knowing who was good and who wasn't.

I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read an ecopy of this story. All opinions are my own.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steam Level: 🔥 (kissing only)
Trigger Warning: suicide recounted, murder, assault

Simon Fancourt ran off to America in search of something more. Now, 12 years later, he's lost his wife and must return to London in order to seek justice. That's where he is reconnected with Georgina Whitmore, his former betrothed. Georgina never stopped loving Simon, and now their lives are intertwined once again. But danger is lurking in the shadows, and both their lives are in jeopardy. Can these two bring secrets to light and find happiness after all they've lost?

This was another compelling suspense novel from Hannah Linder. I'm always sucked in by her stories. This book had so much tragedy, suspense, and angsty romance. As Simon searched for answers related to his wife's killer, I was constantly making guesses and wondering who the villain was in the story. I never figured it out, and I loved that it was a total surprise. There was also an additional mystery that Georgina was trying to solve, and I found that to be just as interesting and unexpected. Both Simon and Georgina were strong characters who had to overcome hurt and fight for the ones they loved. I adored Simon's children, and my heart was breaking for them as they had to face so much trauma. It was just so much for one family to face, and I was glad they got a happy ending. I was a little nervous about how things would turn out in the end, but l was satisfied with how it all wrapped up. I'd definitely recommend this to fans of historical romance and suspense. You'll be on the edge of your seat!

Thank you Netgalley and Barbour Books for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

~All He Wanted was Justice. All She Wanted was His Heart...

“We are all vulnerable, more often than not. Love does not prey on vulnerability, but emboldens it.”

-Never Forgotten, is a story of Simon Fancourt, who wishes desperately to follow his dreams but this means greatly disappointing his family and leaving behind his dear fiancée. Years later, he humbly returns home with two children and a murdered wife. Seeking justice, he embroils himself in a mystery that puts himself, his family and his former fiancée in perilous danger. To make matters even more complicated, his own father leaves a will that clearly states he can only inherit if he marries Georgina Whitmore, the fiancée he left behind. This historical romance is filled with great suspense, a web secrets, much intrigue, piercing betrayals, deep regret, great love, beautiful redemption, and much more.
The journey to unveiling the abounding secrets that haunt dear character’s lives, and the love they have for each other in their hearts, is not for the faint of heart with the moving twists and turns of the plot. This story will greatly pull you in and change your own heart along the way. Seeing everything is as it seems, but everything happens for a reason in this story is captivating. I loved seeing how love opens the door to second chances, and with divine guidance from above in guiding the footsteps to press forward with faith. I feel that in particular, this story has a great amount of angst, regret, sorrow, drama, pain, anger and violence lurked in its pages. But, the slow burn love story is satisfying and tender! Most of all, I love that this story shows the importance of discovering that the people around you are more beloved, dear, and wonderful than you ever imagined!

“We are all more than we seem.”

“No one is ever happy until they make their own decisions.”

This book! All I can say is wow. I know I need to say more than that, but this is Linder’s best book yet. I absolutely love the style in the way she writes her books. The page breaks are brilliantly done, as the POVs switch and it always left me wanting more. The way the chapters end, I couldn’t turn pages fast enough to see what would happen.

NEVER FORGOTTEN has everything I love in a book. Intriguing characters, fast paced plot, secrets, darling children, a puzzling mystery that left me guessing, and so much more. Linder throws red herrings out there, and just when I think I am safe to breathe, nothing is safe.

Simon left home when he was young, running from an arranged marriage to Georgina. He’s back searching for vengeance and answers. Georgina had a hard past, with more questions than answers. I enjoyed how the story plays out, guessing (sometimes badly) at how it would turn out.

This book is another win for Linder. I can’t wait to see what she will come up with next.

I received a paperback from the publisher and a NetGalley approval. Huge thank you to the publisher.

Hannah Linder writes in such a way that I can't figure out all the pieces until the reveals start. With twists, heart breaks and moments of beauty the story comes together and afterwards I'm left feeling like I lived it all.
This story resonated strongly with me. Like Georgina, I am plagued by people who I care about leaving me. And feeling like I wouldn't find my place to belong. I longed for her to find her place. I longed for someone to just love her, just as she was.
This story has many twists, turns, and dives into darkness, but I loved the roller coaster ride of emotions it took me on!

Never Forgotten by Hannah Linder is a powerful tale of unrequited love, justice, and a moving demonstration of what friendship and belonging can bring.
The need to be seen, loved, accepted, and even appreciated for our true selves is a core theme in this book. There are gothic undertones and heavy topics of heartache and pain. Woven throughout it all is a theme of grace and hope. Georgina and Simon have never quite truly understood one another and the circumstances they find themselves in require trust and vulnerability, allowing them to finally see what they have never been able to see. Both characters exhibit strength and moral character, refusing to bow to anything other than truth. The push and pull between them was heavy at times but made room for many of the supporting characters and depth of the storyline. This is not a light read and demands your full attention of mind and heart; however, both will be rewarded by this beautiful story.

Hannah Linder is a masterful storyteller, weaving an entrancing tale that sweeps the reader off to Regency London with balls, carriage rides, and unexpected danger around every corner. This book is a thrilling ride that leaves the reader sighing, gasping, and wanting to reach out and shake the real-to-life characters wonderfully brought to life. With amazing detail, London of old springs up around the reader and the characters, both main and secondary, fill in the setting to bring the story to life. I loved the interactions of Georgina and Simon, always dancing around the truth they each hold so close. Flawed but looking to better themselves and the people around them.
The suspense flowed between all the dangers presented by shadow men who strive to reek havoc on all that might try to stop them and their money making ways. Dirty is the only way they fight and so Simon too must best them at their own game. And he must do so before more innocent people are hurt and dragged down by these dark people. From beginning to end I loved how the mystery and danger flowed through the story. A few unexpected twists and the pages kept flying by. I was surprised by all that was exposed by the end of the book!
I have loved each Hannah Linder book I have read and this one has topped them all. Every book I read draws me in deeper and I can't wait for each new book from this amazing author. Start with any book and be ready to settle in, you will want to read them all! I am already looking forward to her next story! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What a great gothic romance. I loved it! I will warn you that there were quite a few intense moments and maybe some moments that may be too gruesome for some. However, if you are a fan of gothic romance then I think you will love it! I really loved the main characters Simon and Georgina. I felt so bad for them with their different hurts they suffered. But I loved their endurance and strong will they had to press on when there was danger all around. I loved how Simon made sure his children were safe. I found the mysteries in the story really interesting and didn’t guess the outcome. Overall, a great story and I recommend gothic romance lovers.

Great story full of mystery, intrigue and romance. I would have to admit being blindsided by discovering who the real villain was. Simon and Georgina have known each other since childhood but Simon leaves home unable to bear an arranged marriage with her. He loves his parents but his fathers need to control him pushes him away. When Simon returns many years later, it is only to learn that his father is still controlling him from the grave by stipulations in his will.
Determined to find out who killed his wife and disrupted his life in America, Simon works to uncover the lies, secrets and dishonest dealings of those he once trusted. Georgina seems to be the only one who offers him true caring and friendship but marrying her would be yielding to his father and giving up the life he has forged in America, a place his son and daughter would wish to return to.
This kept me guessing until the end. I was also cheering for a real romance between Georgina and Simon, not just an arranged union. It will be well worth your time to lose yourself in this fascinating tale set in Regency England

🖤 About This Book:
- Gothic Regency Romance
- Stand Alone Novel
- POV: Georgina and Simon
- Mystery and Suspense
- Published in 2024
- Parents Guide: mild violence, stabbing, shooting, insinuated sexual assault and suicide, murder, kissing, descriptions of burns and medical treatment

🫧 My Thoughts:
Another Hannah Linder book, another five star read! Wow… just wow! I’m adding Hannah to my favorite authors list. She makes me feel everything the characters feel, plus the mystery and suspense woven throughout. I loved Georgina’s gentleness and her love and care for the people in her life. Simon was a complicated character for me sort out, but I grew to like him and root for him. Both characters were flawed and had a lot to learn about themselves. Their journey of self-discovery and growth was beautiful. All of this, coupled with a few twists and turns made this book perfection! And I absolutely adored the epilogue! 🐶
