In the beginning, nothing is what it seems. Where is Zoe’s husband and why is she on the ferry to a nearby holiday island with a baby that is not hers, in tow?

Seventeen years later, a teenage girl is found on the same island, out cold and completely alone. It is when Louise returns home that long unanswered questions must finally be addressed. Louise over hears a conversation between her parents that was never meant for her ears.

Revealing the secrets of how a family came to be, LET HER GO poses many questions to the reader. I appreciated the local flavour in this book, being a born and bred Western Australian. Such an embarrassment of riches here as far as the coastal lifestyle goes and LET HER GO has a keen sense of place, set as it is in the most isolated capital city in the world.

Emotional and close, LET HER GO delves deeply into the complex intricacies of family loyalties and queries whether our values will always dictate the choices we make. What is going to be more important when the hard decisions have to be made – our own welfare, or that of those close to us?

An immersive novel about the gentle ties that bind, LET HER GO is an emotional and engaging read that will stay with you long afterwards. Difficult paths often lead us to having to make heart wrenching and life affecting decisions.
