This book read more like a bad version of the Grey books, and I really did not like the 50 Shades of Grey books to begin with. Not because of the hot scenes, no, I know what I was getting into, when I requested this book, but there is no chemistry between the main characters, and it is simply about the horizontal action. Give me a little bit more.

Sophie Palazzo never imagined that falling in love with a mafia don would get her a spanking – and that she would love it!

Sophie Palazzo steered clear of the mafia after her father's involvement ended with his murder. Fifteen years later, Joey La Torre, the Don's brother himself, shows up unannounced at her massage studio and wheedles his way into a date. She has no interest in aggressive, macho men like Joey, or so she tries to tell herself, but her body just doesn't get the message. When Joey takes her in hand with a firm bare-bottomed spanking, she ought to be furious, instead, she's aroused. As she explores her physical desires to be dominated, she tries to keep Joey at arm's length emotionally.

Joey knows he wants Sophie for keeps from the moment he walks into her life. She is hot, classy and full of fire, even though submission turns her on. But his involvement in the mafia is a hard limit for her, bringing to conflict his own dedication to the Family, the code of silence and his relationship with his older brother. Can he reconcile his duty to the organization and his growing need for Sophie to remain in his life permanently?

While this wasn't my type of book because of the instalove and I'm not really a fan of that...it will be someone else's cup of tea. It was a short read for me and didn't take a lot of my time. I'm short on time so for me, a quick read is just what was needed. The plot wasn't heavy. If you're looking for something that is long and involved - this isn't it. I found this book to be just...meh. I didn't hate it and I didn't love it. I wouldn't rave about it to my friends but I wouldn't blacklist the author from my list...so I would definitely read from Renee again. It you like these types of books, then this is definitely right down your alley.

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on NetGalley for an honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

The Bossman by Renee Rose is an enticing, addictive Mafia romance novel. I enjoyed the banter between Bossman (aka Spankman) Joey La Torre and massage therapist, Sophie Palazzo. Sophie is determined to not follow in her mother's footsteps and fall in love with a man 'in the family Mafia business''. But Joey will do what he can to changer her mind?!?!

Did not enjoy this book at all. Silly story, minimal character development.

I read this book as I love anything Mafia related. However, whilst I do enjoy a bit of erotica-I found the spankings a bit of a rip off from 50 shades. I think the contents and plot could have been stronger. Rather predictable at times. Bad Guy meets good girl and all that. Overall a good read-just not my cup of tea.

Not a fan of this one at all. The worst part is….this book had so much potential. It felt rushed and not well thought out. I HATE insta love and that is exactly what happened with these two. I felt like they looked at each other once then were playing a life. Very strange. The only consistent piece of this book was the use of the word capisce and spanking. Both things felt strange and really forced. The sex scenes were lame and there was no connection with the characters. I have read many short stories like this before so I know it possible that it could have been better. Overall, very disappointing.

This was a short easy read.
The summary is that Joey is a bad-boy mafia guy and Sophie is a good girl that doesn't want anything to do with The Family. Her father was part of The Family and he was murdered.

This book has a bit of kink with spanking. So if you aren't into reading those types of books this isn't for you. If you are then read on. Sophie really likes Joey's dominant side. And falls for him fairly quickly. She wants him to dominate her with some spanking.

I only gave this 3 stars due to how choppy the book is. There isn't clear format when the thoughts change from one person to another. You will be reading about Joey's thoughts and the next sentence is from Sophie's point of view. So that tends to be a little frustrating.

Otherwise a cute fun smut read. Enjoy!

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a copy for an honest review.

Cute quick read. I would have liked more of a story line but I overall did enjoy reading this book.

I was very interested in reading an organized crime/mafia novel that had a good balance of sizzle and story. Bossman was just the thing I needed!

The story opens up to where Sophie, a down on her luck massage therapist, is taken aback as Joey La Torre, brother of the mafia Don, pays off her car loan and asks her out "just" for a dinner date. She assumes there are more stipulations as Joey is very macho and obviously interested. What happens when two fiery personalities with chemistry in spades mix? FIRE, folks!

I loved that their interactions were HOT and kinky, but not over the top! I absolutely loved it. Sophie had her own reservations about the mob, due to her father's involvement but Joey was sweet and thoughtful and the perfect match for her. 4 stars!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Riverdale Avenue Books for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This review will also be posted on Amazon and Goodreads (links provided.)

Joey and Sophie's story was perfect. They knew each other before and hadn't seen each other in quite some time. Joey and Sophie begin spending time together despite Sophie's doubts and she sees a whole different side of Joey. You really need to read this book Ms. Rose really out does herself on the intimate scenes. HOT!!!! I would definitely recommend this book. I was given an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Enjoyable easy read, the sexual content seemed to fit the book, bit just there for the sake of it. Definitely will read more by Renee Rose

I was given a free copy of this book from Netgalley.com for my honest opinion. I really liked the plot of this book. I did not like how it went from one paragraph of telling a story and then the next a whole new part was started. I think the author should have used a row of ************ to show that she was moving on. Otherwise it was good.

The Bossman is mob erotica story. I must say I was disappointed with the story. I decided that I want to read it based on the reviews that I read but I just didn’t see the greatness like the others did. For me the story was poor the character not very likable especially Sophie. Her way of thinking, acting was annoying, like she herself didn’t know what to do. Joey was more like a grown up man who knew what he want an act toward his goal. The BDSM element in the story was for my taste unnecessary because none of them knew what they doing and that was not part of their intimate lifestyle. Average story, waste of my time.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
