It's almost time for Kianthe and Reyna to walk down the aisle. As with any wedding, there is lots to do. But as expected, nothing seems to be going to plan. With baby dragons causing chaos, Kianthe's parents coming to down, and being dragged into a plot to overthow Queen Tilaine, hopefully they can make it to the altar alive.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tor Books for an advanced copy of Tea You at the Altar by Rebecca Thorne to review! Cozy fantasy is definitely where it's at the at the moment, and Rebecca Thorne has nailed it once again. I love reading about Kianthe and Reyna, and I am excited that we get to see them in one more book! Especially with the cliffhanger at the end of this one.

What I love about this series is that it's cozy with some higher stakes. Kianthe and Reyna are actively fighting to make their kingdom better, but we still get to return to the tea/bookshop and the little found family they've created. There's a wonderful, colorful cast of characters here that you'll wish you could be a part of this little community. And who doesn't love a fantasy wedding?

I enjoy the fact that each book in this series expands the world a little more. Rebecca Thorne's writing seems to get better with every book, and the baby dragons were just a bonus for me. I can't wait to see how Kianthe and Reyna's adventures end in the final installment!

A perfect follow up to the first two novels, this addition follows our favourite treasonous couple through their tumultuous wedding week and making it the event of the century. This volume was less focused on their relationship growth and more a culmination of plot points seeded beforehand and a celebration of the side characters we’ve come to know and love. This almost felt like the perfect farewell, but the author has set us up for one last cozy adventure before we leave them for good!

Not as heavy in world building as the others but excellent cozy queernormative fantasy vibes, suggestive dialogue and no follow through (which is perfect!), magical animal companions, and a lovely cast of characters.

This installment of Rebecca Thorne's cozy Tomes and Teas was just as fun and satisfying as its predecessor's. It was a great read to sit down with a cup of tea and read.

Like her other works, the third instalment in the series welcomes us back to Rebecca Thorne’s cozy fantasy dream. Fans of Legends & Lattes and TJ Klune will absolutely eat this series up.

Kianthe and Reyna are back in Tawney again in this newest Tomes and Tea title, planning the wedding of all weddings: their own. Or at least that's how things seem. Why else would the pirate Dreggs come all the way that far north? As usual the representation in this is amazing. And all our favorite supporting cast have their moment to shine. Like the other books in this series, Tea You at the Altar is a cozy fantasy. That means low stakes and fluff, right? Right? Well, I'd say yes until the last few chapters. Up until then it's the fun and relaxing narrative style and domestic plot points we're used to. After? Well, things get interesting. I can honestly say there are some revelations and outcomes I didn't expect at the end. And it was great. Definitely the addition to the series I was hoping for.

Tea You at the Altar is the third book in the Tomes and Tea series and one of my most anticipated books of 2025. I am so thankful for an early review copy of the audiobook, narrated by Jessica Threet. Once again, Rebecca Thorne has told a fantasy story that is somehow both exciting and cozy at the same time. We get to spend more time with our favorite characters from the first two books as well as meet two interesting new characters. We also get fun scenes with some precocious baby dragons. I loved Tea You at the Altar and cannot wait for Alchemy and a Cup of Tea later this year.

A worthwhile addition to the Tea series, I really enjoyed seeing Reyna and Kianthe planning their wedding and being back in their chosen home. As always, some complications add a nice spice to the brew! Kianthe's family invite themselves to visit, which was my favorite part. Reyna and Kianthe's parents have to make peace with each other, leading to some of the most emotional conversations of the book. I also did not know that this is a planned quartet, so now I have to wait for the fourth one to publish?? Oh no! Thank you to Bramble and NetGalley for the review copy.

*Received as a free ARC*
Just as good as the first two! Ends on a cliffhanger (post successful wedding!) which means it's great that I've already received book 4 and was planning to read that next! I continue to recommend and the puns continue to be good.

Shoutout to Libby Collins at Tor for the free ARC of this book.

I love this series. So so so much. It’s like a warm hug with a lot of fun.

Tea You at the Alter follows Reyna and Key as they plan their wedding and overthrowing the government. The town backs them, loves them, and I felt like this book did a great job of bringing all the stories together. I actually was surprised this wasn’t the last one (except that epilogue ugh).

I love the puns, the rep, the characters, the townspeople, the dragons. I just love it all.

I'm not the biggest cozy fantasy enthusiast, but this series has been an absolute delight to read. In Tea You at the Alter, Reyna and Kianthe continue their journey by planning their wedding. But with these two, it's never as simple as that, is it? No, they also have to plan a coup against an evil queen, naturally. Together, these two have to deal with pirates, baby dragons, and most of all - Kianthe's parents coming for the wedding! And they'll have to assemble a team of old and new friends to topple the evil queen's reign.

Reyna, Kianthe, and their colorful sidekicks and friends are such fun characters. I've loved watching their relationship grow over the course of this series, and I find myself invested in each of their wacky, cozy adventures. The third installment in this series does not disappoint in any of these regards. The romance develops even more, and it's very tender and heartwarming. The political intrigue related to Queen Tilaine and their plot to overthrow her is interesting and entertaining, and the plot doesn't unnecessarily stall or spend huge swaths of time on very mundane things (which is my number one issue with many cozy fantasies, hence why I couldn't get into Legends & Lattes despite many attempts). Rebecca Thorne does a great job of balancing the tenderness and humor of mundane plotlines with more swashbuckling ones, and the contrast is very fun.

I highly recommend Tea You at the Altar, and after that cliffhanger ending I will definitely be reading the fourth book!

Thank you to NetGalley, Tor/Bramble, and Rebecca Thorne for providing an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own!

This was the best one out of the three. I really enjoyed the dragons and can't wait for the next book! This will be an easy sell and it looks beautiful.

How much work is it to plan a wedding and depose a sadistic ruler? This 3rd book in the Tomes & Tea series takes the reader along for the ride. The upcoming wedding has our couple and the community in a flurry of preparations. There is a lot of character-building, introspection, as well as plotting. I found this story to be slower-paced and at times dragging although the baby dragons were fun.

As much as I enjoy these characters, the cozy town of Tawney, and especially the baby dragons, this installment in the series fell flat for me. There's chaotic wedding planning that turns into revolution planning, but it took me awhile to get invested and I'm honestly not sure I would've finished if I hadn't gotten the audiobook too. Jessica Threet keeps it light and did accents to highlight the dialogue, so that was a treat and definitely the way I'd recommend reading it.

Tea You at the Altar has everything you need in a read. Dragons, tea, magic, nosy friends, game night shenanigans. This is gold standard cozy fantasy. I'll be shipping Key and Rain until the end of time. Please Rebecca Thorne, continue to give me all the cozy stories about their life until the end of time!

This book is a delightful addition to the Tomes & Tea series, offering a cozy yet adventurous escape that blends heartfelt romance, magical mayhem, and an undercurrent of political intrigue. The author strikes the perfect balance between lighthearted charm—complete with mischievous baby dragons—and emotional depth, exploring themes of love, family, and finding strength in the face of unexpected challenges.

The pacing is well-crafted, alternating between intimate character moments and bursts of excitement that keep the story moving. Longtime fans of the series will enjoy how the relationships evolve, and the expansion of the world feels natural and immersive. The dialogue is particularly sharp and engaging, making the characters feel vibrant and relatable.

This book feels like a warm hug with just enough bite to keep things interesting. Whether you’re here for the tea shop antics, the queer romance, or the whimsical yet thoughtful worldbuilding, it’s a thoroughly satisfying read.

Another great addition to the Tomes & Tea series. This series has been a big hit with fantasy readers in my community and this new addition will be the same.

I will say, for some reason, I was under the impression this was the last book in the series and was confused (and very excited) for the setup for the next and final book.

Best book in the series so far. It was a perfect combo of cozy without loosing out on plot. Three books in the main characters are still changing and developing in such a way that only makes me love them more. AND THE DRAGONS!!! Love love love!

The third book of the Tomes & Tea series, where our favorite lesbian pirates must navigate the ultimate maelstrom—their own wedding!
Kianthe and Reyna are ready to finally walk down the aisle—in just seven days, their wedding of a wifetime will be a reality. There's loads to do—but like all best laid plans, everything seems to be going awry.
Between their baby dragons causing mayhem in Tawney, Kianthe's uptight parents inviting themselves to the wedding, and Reyna becoming embroiled in a secret plot to overthrow Queen Tilaine, the world seems against them—how are they going to live long enough to say "I do"?

In the best book in the series so far, Kianthe and Reyna are surrounded by good people and Tawney is a town worth fighting for. With some returning favorites and some new characters, this novel was delightful. However, as the third book in the series, this really should not be read first. Everything in the first two books leads up to this and the ending hints at troubles to come.
Recommended.
