This book started off strong and I was really into it. However it seemed to lose steam and I really didn't care about what was happening once I got about halfway through. Would have loved it to be more twisty to hold my attention better.

this domestic thriller genre used to be my bread-and-butter until i read wayyyy too many of them and now i just use them as a fun palate cleanser between other reads. however this one from Thompson really pleasantly surprised me! of course there’s the drama with the rich suburban group of wives, and the murder mystery was kept interesting with reveals throughout the story.

Well, these mom’s certainly aren’t girl’s girls. Wow.

I flew through this read and had a great time. It was so messy but in the best way. I don’t want to go into specifics about characters because I don’t want to potentially spoil anything, but this was fun, messy and entertaining. I’ll definitely check out more of Aggie’s other books.

Omg! Talk about twisty and binge worthy. I couldn’t put this one down. If you like multiple POVs, and neighborhood drama, this one is for you!

Living on an idyllic cul-de-sac with your close friends is the dream scenario for some; for Gwen, Aimee, and Lisa, it becomes a nightmare when Gwen’s husband is found murdered. There is no hiding the secrets they have been keeping from one another anymore.

Told from all three points of view, this domestic thriller is messy (the good kind), and it reads like watching a guilty pleasure Bravo show. From affairs to blackmail and everything in between, it is hard to root for the characters, but it is fun to watch them self-destruct.

Although the ending becomes clear before the climax, this will be a fun vacation read this summer. Fans of the domestic thriller genre will be pleased.

Fun, fast read - definitely recommend!

After a kind of confusing start finding the voice of each of the women’s POV, a twisty triangle of relationships emerges where everyone’s business is intertwined in a constantly evolving way. The story definitely keeps you on your toes, even when you think you’ve got it all down in the end. I was compelled to see where it was going, even if the tension didn’t ramp up high enough to feel completely dangerous even at the climax. So a slow burn with a satisfying resolution.

In Nassau Court, outside of Washington D.C., three families shared their lives. They lived next door to each other. Their children went to school together. Sometimes they went on vacation together. They got together most weeks for to throw some meat on the grill or share some takeout. Their lives are intertwined, but their secrets are their own. Or, they were.

Aimee and Scott have 3 kids, twin boys and a first-grade girl who is neurodivergent. Aimee works as a landscape designer, and Scott is working to develop software to help regulate insulin dosing in diabetics. Lisa and Marcus have a son in middle school. Marcus is a successful lobbyist, so Lisa chooses not to work outside the home. But her frequent Pilates classes keep her in great shape.

Gwen and Anton also have twin boys. Gwen works part-time in a PR firm in Georgetown and works hard to curate her look and her home. Anton wrote a bestselling novel and is working on another while also teaching at a local university. They moved to the neighborhood a year ago, but they fit in and Gwen made friends with Aimee almost immediately.

When the police show up at Gwen’s house early one morning, everyone is curious as to what’s going on. Anton was killed the night before, a hit-and-run in an alley outside of a dive bar they had all been to. Aimee and Lisa step in at once to help Gwen with her kids. But as more information comes out about what happened, the women realize that the police are not looking it like it’s an accident. They are investigating it as a homicide.

Gwen didn’t realize that Anton had left overnight, and they have no camera at their front door. But Aimee does have a camera out front, and when the detective asks to look at it, Aimee sees that Anton had been at their place overnight, and Scott had met him out front. In the weeks that follow, the women discover all sorts of secrets, from money missing from their bank accounts to secret affairs. And then another husband goes missing.

You Deserve to Know is a stunning domestic thriller about the secrets that live if our pasts and the damage they do when they finally surface. I was so impressed with this novel, because every time I thought I was getting to the real truth of what was going on with these families, there was another level of deceit. Over and over, this thriller took a left turn or took me up a steep hill or spun me upside down, making it a wild ride of secrets and revelations. There was not a dull moment in this entire novel. I loved it!

This book kept me guessing all the way into the final scene of the epilogue. Omg such a well written high stakes backstabbing thriller. Just the way I like them.

YES ! This was great, Though the epilogue left me a bit confused and wished I didn’t read it. But the whole ride up to that point was great!

The murder mystery had me guessing until the end, and just when I thought I had it figured out- bam! The final twist was wild and left me (delightfully) shocked!

@aggie.blum.thompson is the queen of DC suburban/domestic thrillers. You Deserve to Know might be her best book yet!

I just finished reading this book. The plot was absolutely fantastic! It was quite the page turner, and I could nor put the book down once I began reading it.

This book started out a little slow for me, but I’m so glad I kept reading because it did not disappoint. The story is packed with twists and turns that had me reeling and second-guessing every character’s motives. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the plot shifted again. If you’re a fan of whodunits that keep you on your toes, this is the perfect book for you!

This book has all the neighborhood drama, juicy gossip, secrets and lies and all the scandal. I didn’t particularly connect with the characters, but I did enjoy the read. It was fast-paced, and I got through it pretty quickly. Entertaining!

Gwen, Aimee and Lisa share more than the usual neighbourly conversation, and divulge their deepest secrets and details to one another. But, when one of their husbands is found murdered, the usual peaceful world is turned upside down turning into a sense of deception and betrayal under the surface of their once peaceful world. This was a well written domestic thriller, though some of the twists were understood quite quickly. Additionally, the use of some real life aspects in Thompson's life made this book even more intriguing. 4/5

I’ve never had so much fun reading about the dysfunctional residents of a suburban neighborhood. Nothing is exactly as it seems and what a ride it is discovering who these people really are.

Highly recommend this fast paced psychological thriller and look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

Who needs enemies with friends like these? 3 perfect families with secrets they'd kill for. I got whiplash reading this book because it's a novel written within the book by one of the main characters so when you get to the end of the actual book you don't know who to believe and who the true villian is. The main character Aimee has poor judgement that it's hard to root for her. Lisa and Gwen both have issues so they're hard to root for. But the constant lies and secrets made this a page turner. This book got me out of a reading slump.

I’m a big fan of juicy domestic thrillers, and even more so when they take place in polished, upper-class neighborhoods. There’s something so satisfying about peeling back the layers of seemingly perfect lives—and this book delivered plenty of that.

Set on a cul-de-sac where everyone knows each other a little too well, the story follows three couples: Aimee and Scott, Gwen and Anton, and Lisa and Marcus. Their lives are deeply intertwined, and as the secrets start to unravel, things get deliciously messy.

Despite the number of characters and subplots, everything was easy to follow, with each person standing out thanks to strong, distinct characterizations. Some of them were downright awful (in an entertaining way), but a few were still likable enough to root for.

I really enjoyed watching all the drama unfold among these well-manicured lives spiraling out of control. The twists kept coming, but it was the ending that really got me—shocking, intense, and completely satisfying.

Highly recommend if you enjoy domestic thrillers filled with secrets, scandals, and sharp turns all the way to the final page.
