Loved this winter romance. I was never bored when reading this book. The chemistry between Tyler and Alix was to die for! As soon as I finished the book I missed the Lodge and winter wonderland that I found myself imagining.

The Lodge by Kayla Olson is a pure romance novel in the sweetest sense of the definition. Light on the spicy scale; this book will make the reader smile and swoon. A cozy romance which brings two strangers together at hidden Vermont ski lodge, Olson writes for her audience with such charm and humor. I found this book to be enjoyable from cover to cover and look forward to any new works by this author in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Publishing for the chance to read this novel.

I really enjoyed this!! I loved the character relationship and all the fun things they did around the Lodge. I’m not a skier but it sounded like the perfect resort!

I liked how it all came together at the end!

This is my first read by the author and I am quite impressed!

Growing up, I was (still am) a HUGE boy band fan so I was quickly drawn to this book about the mystery surrounding a missing boy bander who disappeared all Eddie and The Cruisers-style. Where did he go? Is he still alive? Could he be hiding in plain sight? Fans have been speculating for YEARS! I had to find out what happened!

The Lodge quickly swept me away into a scenic Vermont landscape where Alix finds inspiration for her breakthrough gig as a ghostwriter. And where she befriends a kind, funny, and handsome local ski instructor who also just so happens to be her neighbor, which makes for a delightful distraction.

The storyline is engaging and absolutely lovely. The romance is beautifully done. Alix and Tyler have great chemistry. Theirs is a sweet (and clean) romance.

This is also a story with real, raw emotions. The struggles each character faces carry consequential burdens that are painstakingly difficult to navigate. There’s not always a correct answer, life decisions are never just black and white. The story also touches on the darker side of fame, the good, the bad, and the life shattering.

The Lodge is a wonderful read with a little bit of mystery and lots of heart. I whole-heartedly recommend it to every reader!

A huge thank you to the lovely Kayla Olson for sending me an
ARC of this book, and thank you to o@simon.audio for the gifted audiobook! Thank you to Atria for the eARC as well!
I have been (not so patiently) waiting for Kayla Olson's next book since I read and loved The Reunion. Somehow The Lodge is even better than I expected. This was insanely good.
Iloved the story - the mystery element was great - and the inserts of headlined and excerpts worked SO well here.
Celebrity romances haven't generally been my favorite trope, but Kayla has changed that! I absolutely adore the trope - as long as she writes it!
This book was tender, sweet, had an atmospheric and gorgeous setting, and great characters. I could barely stop reading. This is easily one of my favorite romances of the year. Andie Arndt did a fantastic job with the narration, she's become one of my favorites and I consistently enjoy her performances. I cannot wait for Kayla's next book!

I really appreciated the realistic articles and other media content (although the text messages have a less smoother flow due to the super similar formatting between text messages and Alix's thoughts) - it did make for some fun breaks in between chapters which work both for fun and function (worked for the author's previous work, The Reunion, as well).

I'm a little bit disappointed that the mystery wasn't really a mystery to me from page 1 so that reveal was a bit underwhelming, but at the same time, I appreciated how the third act conflict was handled.

Super steady pacing all throughout, peppered with smart banter and chemistry between Alix and Tyler. Overall, a solid winter romance read!

Alix just received her dream job - to be a ghostwriter of a memoir by the member of a famous boy band. She travels to a ski lodge in Vermont to write and soon falls for the handsome ski instructor.

I adored this cute and cozy romcom! It had the perfect snowy setting, the luxury lodge, the sweet romance, skiing and ice skating, and Oh! the boyband drama. In other words, everything one could wish for in a winter romance. I really loved how the author alternated the steady romantic vibe with Alix's family drama and the chaos of her star client's life. The latter was hilarious! I felt so bad for poor Alix, but the account of the craziness around her made me laugh outloud. The romance was perfection in every aspect: dreamy book boyfriend ski instructor + just the right amount of 🌶️ without taking away from the story. In my opinion, what happens in this book probably wouldn't have worked in real life, but hey, it's fiction and it's great!

I loved every minute of this lovely romcom! If you're still looking for a cute winter read, I hope you pick up this novel!

Thank you to NeyGalley for the ARC! This was the perfect cozy winter read. The book follows Alix Morgan, a writer who landed her dream job ghost writing a memoir for Sebastian Green (boy band member). We are taken to a snowy resort where Aliox is to complete her assignment. Little does she know who is living next door! This is a snowy rom-com that is perfect to cuddle up with this winter. I loved the characters, plot, and most of the exciting twist!

I adored this book! It's the perfect escape read! The whole story was filled with nostalgia and honestly launched me back to the days when I had posters of my favorite boy bands on my bedroom wall.

Overall I enjoyed this one! It was a tad predictable, but it was interested to watch how the interactions with the main characters changed throughout the book as secrets got revealed. A few of the side characters were on the annoying side, but I did like the main ones. Feel like it would be a good movie, which is usually a sign of a well done rom com.

I picked this up in the middle of a snowstorm and it was the perfect read for a winter day. I haven't skied in years, but this book left me wanting to book a trip to lodge and spent a weekend on the slopes. The characters are lovable, the setting is immaculate and the story is engaging. This is the second Kayla Olson book I've read, and I will definitely continue reading their novels in the future. Having just been to Vermont for the first time this Fall, I loved picturing all of the charming settings in Kayla Olson’s latest novel, The Lodge. If you know me, my love for boy bands is strong, so this book was right up my alley.

The story centers around Alix, who just landed her dream job as a ghostwriter for a former boy band member. She spends her time researching and writing in a luxurious Vermont resort, where she also squeezes in some time for ski lessons. There she meets a handsome ski instructor, who is harbouring his own secrets.

This is a great book to cozy up to this winter season!

Alix needs a break from NYC to focus on her big ghostwriting project, the memoir of a boyband phenom, Sebastian Green. Sebastian gives her access to a penthouse at a ski resort in Stowe, VT to write, and she moves in and gets to work. Her friend encourages her to experience the resort and on a whim she takes a ski lesson with Tyler, falling head over heels in more than one way. Tyler’s past soon starts to haunt him, and Alix finds herself torn between her feelings for him and her career.

Sweet and touching, and I loved the snowy ski resort vibes!

When a journalist is sent to an upscale ski resort in Vermont to work on a memoir she’s ghost writing, she gets more than she bargained for with her dreamy next door neighbor.

Fun character dynamics with side characters that keeps the story grounded. The FMC isn’t particularly remarkable but feels like she could be a real person. Good series of reveals to keep the reader interested.

This one wasn’t for me. I enjoyed the writing but the story was just not captivating for me. The premise was interesting for sure, but it just felt poorly executed.

I’m not athletic, but after reading this book, I suddenly want to visit a ski lodge in Vermont! This was the perfect cozy winter romance, predictable yet thoroughly enjoyable, making for a quick and delightful escape. I was pleasantly surprised by the touch of mystery woven into the story. Grab a cup of hot cocoa, curl up on the couch, and enjoy this charming, feel-good read. The writing is engaging, the characters are lovable, and the romance delivers everything you’d hope for in a Hallmark movie. A must-read for any contemporary romance fan. And that cover is absolutely gorgeous!
