I haven’t laughed out loud so much through a book. Such a great read with everyday struggles, but as a monster. Absolutely enjoyed this book and looking forward to future books

This book is funny, nerdy and incredibly cute. It's filled with silly mischief that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. And the witty banter between characters is absolutely fantastic. I was laughing and kicking my feet the whole time while reading. If you like fantasy books with lots of humor and heart then this is for you. I highly recommend it!

This was is a hard one to review. It’s a love and not love situation. So I am from the 90’s and this has that nostalgic feeling of campy horror that I thrive on.

I think the author is on to something here with this book. But there are parts where my attention span falls off. I just get bored. But then I get over that hump and I am interested again. I feel like if we got more action on what these monsters do with all the Kyle’s I may have gained more of an investment. Or grasped what Darla needed a break from.

I loved the different monsters and the idea of MFU! However I did NOT appreciate ACE of Base being on the Oldies station! GASP ! We are not there yet!!!

So in short it’s a quick read with a lot of fun in it. I’m just needy and wanted a bit more to it to fuel my sci fi theatre heart.

This book was so much fun to read, grown-up monsters: boomer monsters, millennials, and new generation of potentially Gen Z and possibly Alpha? That's the funniest and coolest thing! These monsters live amongst us and they mostly torture and often kill those humans that are either copulating outside marriage or are targeting kids in any way and honestly, I'm more on the millennial monster side, they can have unwed intercourses as long as they are consenting, but like Darla did, nobody touches kids, they get tortured and killed.
Darla's mom is the boomer that has been decapitated and they are in search of her body, in the meantime she just like any other boomer expects Darla to find the suitable monster and get married to have little monsters of their own. Darla seems to have some kind of crisis for a while, she's bored of doing the torturing and then she meets Jarko and it all changes. All the cheesy stuff that I despise in romance books, apparently sounds fun to me if they are monsters, go figure. I could have lived and story wouldn't have suffered if there was less animal mutilation and consumption involved, but I guess no such thing as a perfect book.
It's quick, it's funny, it has a heart and in the end everytime I thought it ended we got some more stories and even a glimpse of big city monsters.

I loved Darla from the very first chapter. For Pete sake her nickname is Duchess of Death!!!! She was absolutely hilarious and yet fierce. Her mom was a hoot too!! I loved getting to see Jarko and Darla's relationship and how they balanced each other out.

✨💜 Just finished Dating and Dismemberment and I can’t stop smiling! This book was an absolute blast—a monstrous romance that’s cute, hilarious, and unexpectedly heartwarming. Darla Drake, Duchess of Death, is having a bit of a life crisis (yup, even monsters do) and is stuck dealing with her overbearing mom’s severed head while a new creature moves into her territory. The mix of spooky and sweet is perfect! 🖤💀✨ Plus, Jarko Murkvale is the kind of monster that turns worlds upside down—in the best way. And remember, if you see a ‘Kyle’ fly by… well, let’s just say, no one is safe! 👀💜✨

I read the blurb of this book and I just KNEW I had to read it. This book is funny, light-hearted, and had me smiling to myself because of some of the humorous moments.

I enjoyed being inside the mind of a monster and see the decisions that made them decide who to kill. It was very well thought out and I think a lot of generational details were throughout the entire book.

This is a monster romance with a few ROM com and heartfelt moments in the book. It was overall not a terrible read and a good palate cleanser.
