This one wasn’t my cup of tea, so I’m marking it as a DNF. I think other readers may connect with it more than I did. Thanks for the ARC!

When Pomona Afton’s glamourous, heiress life (a la Paris Hilton) is turned upside down by the shocking murder of her grandmother, she’s forced to start over with no access to her fortune (The Simple Life), share a Brooklyn apartment with a roommate and get a job for the first time. Consistently underestimated by her family she resolves to solve the mystery and return access to the family fortune. Part murder mystery and part “socialite in exile” character arc, this was an enjoyable albeit predictable read. The premise was fun and the contrast between Pomona’s past and present was interesting, especially as she began to grow as a person. I really like watching her evolve, but Gabe the MMC, really felt underdeveloped. He had a lot of potential but really just ended up being Pomona’s side kick. The mystery played out well enough to keep me interested but it didn’t have many surprises.
Thanks to Netgalley and Atria Books for this e-ARC that I chose to read and review

Suspenseful, romantic, and outrageously funny, I couldn’t stop laughing!
While I was on edge for a portion of this book, it was super cozy. It did revolve around a murder mystery, but it was a light kind that wasn’t overly exaggerated.
It focused more on self-discovery and complicated family dynamics, which I enjoyed a LOT. Too much mystery would’ve turned me off, but this was the perfect mix of comedy, romance, and suspense!
Pomona was your typical spoiled rich girl at first glance, but her character development was vast, and under all of her layers, I ended up adoring her. She was never treated how she should’ve been by her family, and it’s evident that our MMC, Nicholas, showed her what she did and didn’t deserve—which both made me love him and led to her increasing development. These two were such a joyful and fun couple—their blooming love story made everything so exciting!
I recommend this read to all people who love romantic mystery with lots of heart and humor.

Think London Tipton or Paris Hilton tries to solve a murder!
This novel is a cute whodunnit and ironically, although there is a murder, it is still lighthearted and witty. There is great character development for Pomona, the protagonist. She goes from being doubted and doubting herself to learning new skills and realizing that she can amount to so much more. She is a little irritating initially, but I have to say her little quips are hilarious. I do wish there was a little more development on Gabe's character, but I know it was really Pomona's time to shine. Also, the secondary characters (and suspects) brought fun little twists to the plot!

An interesting mystery read, with an intriguing plotline. Unfortunately, I had trouble connecting to the main character from the beginning, which is why my rating couldn't be higher. Ultimately, this didn't feel like the best read for me personally but I'm sure I could see others picking this up and loving it.

This was not a fun read, and even though it was a short book, it felt long. A cozy mystery/romance in the vein of Schitts Creek sounded fun, but I did not find Pomona very endearing.

thank you to netgalley for the e-arc. i liked this more than i would have expected. i know that we are supposed to know that Pomona is a spoiled brat who is only doing this to receive inheritance but she never had any redemption. she stayed awful. oh well, it was fun.

In this book we follow Pomona a spoiled heiress who is left homeless and penniless after her grandmothers will stated that all of her accounts will be frozen if she dies of unnatural causes. And Gabe who is her now roommate and investigator in her grandmother’s murder.

It was an interesting book to read. It had a good balance of romance and mystery. My only issue was the fmc at the beginning and I couldn’t fully dive into the book at first. By the end I was very much into the plot.

I’m giving this a 3. I like the premise of the book but it was very hard to get into, and just not for me.

A highly entertaining whodunit murder mystery + romance subplot. Pomona is a likable rich girl whose family owns hotels. When her grandmother is murdered, Pomona decides to try and figure out who the killer is. I absolutely loved the storyline and couldn't put this book down! Pomona's growth throughout the story was well done, too. A perfect read for a quick escape!

This book follows Pomona Afton after her life is flipped on its head with the death of her grandmother. Pomona Afton is an Upper East Side heiress whose family owns a whole chain of hotels and has lived without a care. All of this changes when her grandmother is murdered, and all of her family's assets have been frozen until the murder is solved. Pomona is thrust into the real world, where she must learn how to hold a real job, reconsider the people she called friends, and maybe begin to fall in love with her unlikely hero.
Pomona's character growth resembles Alexis Rose's in Schitt's Creek. I loved seeing how Pomona's compassion grew and how she became much kinder throughout the novel.
I think the mystery had good pacing and was easy to read quickly. It also kept me guessing throughout. The romance was lovely, and the characters complemented each other well.
I loved this book! I think fans of cozy mysteries, character growth, and family secrets will enjoy this.

A delightfully sharp mystery with a unique twist. Engaging and unpredictable. I loved Pomona!
Many thanks to Atria and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Paloma Afton is basically what would happen if Alexis Rose from Schitt’s Creek decided to become a detective—charming, a little chaotic, and way sharper than people give her credit for. She’s got great one-liners, and absolutely zero chill when it comes to solving a murder.
This book is such a fun ride—equal parts twisty mystery and laugh-out-loud humor, with a heroine who refuses to be underestimated. If you love Only Murders in the Building-style amateur sleuthing with a side of sass, Paloma Afton Can So Solve a Murder is definitely worth picking up.
My only slight criticism, and maybe this was my own fault, was that I anticipated this book being much more of a “romance” story than a “women’s fiction” story. I tend to prefer romance, but I still really enjoyed this one!
**Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the eARC! All opinions are my own.**

I knew I needed to read this book as soon as the main character Pomona Afton was compared to Blair Waldorf solving a murder mystery! Mysteries are not my typical genre but I thought this was a fun book. I also enjoyed the romance that was intertwined. This was a fun and fast paced read!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a review!

I was caught the second I read that the pitch was "Dan Humphrey x Blair Waldorf." Like hello? Are you kidding me? Say less. The book is being consumed. I had so much fun reading this one! The characters were hilarious, the relationship was adorable, and the murder mystery was entertaining to follow. I love a cozy mystery and I will absolutely be coming back to Bellamy Rose!! She kept me engaged and had my jaw DROPPING at the plot twists.

This was very cute, such an entertaining and fun read! This book follows Pomona Aston who is a hotel heiress. Pomona has to figure out who killed her grandmother in order to receive her inheritance.
Enjoyable but felt a little flat for me at times. The writing is really fast paced.

Pomona Afton Can So Solve a Murder is an amazing time. Pomona is an interesting character who diverges from the usual one note female main character in Romance books. Starting as a rich socialite who knows how to do nothing do herself you see her completely change as a person when she loses everything and becomes “normal” after her Grandma dies. Pom ends up being a kind hearted and passionate individual who you are constantly rooting for!
The romance between Gabe and Pomona was adorable and I really did like their characters together. He seemed to ground her and really helped her adjust to her new normal after she lost everything. Don’t expect this Romance to be the main focus as it is actually more focused on Pomona’s development and actually solving her Grandma’s murder but you get a good amount of Romance to scratch the itch.
I had really no issues with this book. It was a light and easy read that helped me out of a slump and effortlessly made me smile with its great humor and cute moments so I absolutely recommend it!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed Pomona Afton Can So Solve a Murder, but I wouldn’t say it blew me away. The premise of the story, a quirky amateur sleuth trying to solve a murder, definitely caught my attention, and I loved the vibe of the mystery. Pomona herself is a likable character, full of charm and wit, which kept me interested in the plot.
The mystery was engaging, but at times, I found the pacing a little slow. There were moments when the story dragged, and it took me a while to truly get hooked. I appreciated the humor and the lighthearted moments throughout, but I did feel like I wanted a bit more depth or intensity in the crime-solving aspect.
Overall, it was a fun read with some great moments, but I just didn’t feel that strong connection to the story or characters that would make me rave about it. If you're a fan of cozy mysteries with quirky characters, this might be for you, but for me, it was more of a solid read than a standout one.

This one started out a little slow, but picked up for me. I loved Pomona's character growth and was really happy how everything worked out for her in the end. However, I do think the mystery could have been a little bit more developed. I predicted the ending (there was something I thought was a major clue even if it was not meant to be). It was good, but could have been better.

This was one of my most anticipated, but fell short for me. I struggle with books like this that try really hard to have a specific quirky voice. I can never connect with those types of characters and I should have known going in with the style of the title, but it really wasn't my cup of tea and I had absolutely no connection to the story.
