Train to Oblivion is a compelling read that offers a raw, honest look into its themes. Millan’s storytelling is both vivid and thought provoking, pulling you into a world that’s gritty yet emotionally resonant. The pacing keeps you hooked, and the characters feel genuine, even if some arcs could have been further developed. It’s a solid journey through complex emotions and societal issues, making it well worth the read. I’d definitely recommend it to those interested in stories that challenge and inspire, even if it doesn’t quite reach perfection.

Moira Millan tells a dramatic story of love and loss across three generations as the railroad transforms Patagonia. I loved how the setting transported me to a place I’ve never had the chance to explore before. My favorite part of reading is discovering worlds so different from my own. While the pacing felt slower than I usually prefer, the story was fascinating. If the setting intrigues you, it’s absolutely worth the read.

'A dramatic story of love and loss across three generations as the railroad came to Patagonia, forever changing the landscape and its peoples.'
Such a beautifully evocative story about 3 generations of strong Patagonia women. Loved it.
It did however take me a while to get into due to the writing style - but that might be due to the translation.
✨ I listened to the audiobook - Nadia Verde's? So soothing.
