okay so this book took me on a ride. i had no clue what was going on up until the last 100 pages or so and we finally got the big plot twist/reveal. usually with freidas books i have my own theories about what’s is going on but this one i was completely in the dark. it made the twist at the end all the more impactful.

the mfc is a med student that is doing her overnight rotation in the hospitals psych ward. she is very anxious about having to stay there, especially when there is no cell service in case she were to need help. we get flashbacks of her younger self that show a relationship she had with one her best friends that went wrong. through those flashbacks we start to understand why she has that anxiety.

i do want to preface that this does take place is a psych ward, so be mindful that’s there are depictions of mental illness in this book.

this was easily 5 stars for me! i devoured this book and it has quickly rose to the top of my ranks for favorite thrillers! if you love some unexpected plot twists or are just a fan of freida definitely pick this up for your next read!
