The book will keep you guessing till the end. It was terrifying, suspenseful and deeply saddening. About two years ago, Harper lost her husband and her friend too in a car accident. That was devastating but after two years, she is trying to start fresh. Soon secrets starts unveiling one after the other. The book is filled with secrets, truth, shocking revelations and twists. The pace was a bit slow in the beginning but then the book picked up. I love author’s books. And loved the setting.
Thanks to the Publisher

After reading this I think Keri Beevis is the queen of a dark, claustrophobic thriller that will genuinely take your breath away. I loved this book it felt fast paced and deeply immersive I just needed to keep reading, the twists and turns send you on a crazy roller-coaster ride.
The best bit of this wonderful book is that I would have never guessed that ending and I won't forget it in a hurry #thriller2024 #keribeevis #boldwood #netgalley

This book didn’t just slow down my reading—it brought it to a screeching halt. The plot was sluggish, the characters uninspiring, and each chapter felt like a chore to get through. By the end, I was left wondering why I had pushed myself to finish at all.
Not my cup of tea!

This book was amazing, like all of her books! Each one I swear is my new favorite, and then she releases another!

Good read. Woman married serial killer and was not aware. After his death she is stalked by his partner unknowingly. She goes on many dates but finds happiness in the end.

I think this book is a little gem. It was way better than I thought it would be. I knew I could expect twist and turns but it unravelled so beautifully I had to recommend to all my friends. Would make a fab beach read.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
This book was better than I thought it was going to be! I expect a strong storyline and lots of twists, but I’ve got way more than I bargained for, in a good way. Harper having lost her husband Charlie in a tragic car accident two years prior. It’s finally ready to move on with her life, even though she cannot get past his betrayal.
Harper decides to try online dating, she thinks, what's the worst that can happen, she has a free drink and meets new people. Little does Harper know but the worst is going to happen. Harper discovers that her late husband had more secrets than she could imagine and now Harper thinks someone is out to get her and it could be anyone. Lots of twists and I was surprised by the ending.

My first Keri Beevis book - The Cottage by the Sea is a thriller mystery that is a perfect choice for fans of a dark and twisty page turner. I found the first half of the book to be a bit slower for me and did not have that instant pull. I struggled to connect with the characters at first, but the second half the tension amped up and got interesting.
Thank you to NetGalley, Keri Beevis, and Boldwood Books for the ARC.

Another slam-dunk by Keri Beevis that just proves why she is on my always-read list! How well did she know her hubs? Turns out, not at all! This was a fun and tense read!

Keri hits it out of the park with this one! I love her work and this may be the best one that I’ve read so far! I like not being able to figure things out and man does she keep you guessing straight through to the end. It’s wrapped up nicely and answers all your questions. It gives great closure the perfect ending to a crazy good story!

I completely loved this very dark thriller! Online dating, and especially Catfishing, are one of my favorite plots to read and were paired expertly with this fantastic thriller. There are tons of twists and a very shocking reveal. It was crazy good. Highly recommend!!!!!

The cottage by the sea, written by Carrie Beavis
Harper is a young, widowed woman, living with her dog in a remote area in England. She’s now decided that it’s time to get back into the swing of life after her husband‘s death, and she goes on dating apps to find perspective men. Each time she finds a profile she is interested in m, she plans a meeting in the local pub . So far, none of the men actually meet her fancy. Accidentally, on a walk with her dog, she runs into Luke a handsome doctor at the local hospital. They begin dating and enjoying each other’s company. When a series of unusual events start to happen, such as a break-in in her home or the feeling of being followed, she decides to rummage through her late husband’s papers and discovers that he owns a cottage by the sea, that she never knew about. Suspecting that he was having affairs with other women, she goes to the cottage and searches from top to bottom, only to find some very strange tools in the basement. She begins to wonder who her husband really was? What. she doesn’t know is that she’s being stalked by a very bad man.
This was an interesting book full of mystery and intrigue and very fast reading. Thank you to Netta and Bowood books for the opportunity to read and review this novel. Four stars.

A solid psychological thriller that takes place in England, which already has spooky vibes so this was a blast! The pacing was a little slow, but I LOVE finding out secrets after a spouse dies. This was awesome

I thought that this book was ok but it wasn’t great. Maybe I’m just really picky. I’ve heard such great things about this author. I’ll continue reading books by her.

The Cottage by the Sea was an exceptional read. It kept me engrossed from beginning to end, with its continuous tension and suspense.

I really loves the way Keri weaves a story, and there is more twists and turns in her books that you can imagine. This was really another brilliant offering by a very talented author. Can't wait to read more thrilling reads from her pen!

So this is quite a dark book about how little we really know about the people in our life and the very dark side of sex and torture that can exist in the world. Be careful if this may be triggering to you. I did however love the main character and really wanted her to find love and not just meet all these men who just added to her bad luck in life. A great read.

I devoured this book in one sitting, eager to unravel the mysteries surrounding the protagonist's past. The author's writing style is engaging, and the pacing is well-balanced, keeping me on the edge of my seat.
However, I found the plot twists to be somewhat predictable, and the characters lacked a bit of depth. Still I enjoyed it.

Thank you Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Keri Beevis for the e Arc of The Cottage by the Sea.
The cottage by the Sea is a slow to medium burn book following our MC, Harper getting back into the dating game after losing her Husband in a RTA. Anyone who has done the dating game from online apps knows that safety is paramount and Harper as her friend who she checks in with. So after conveniently bumping into a date who is married, sets off a series of advents in which Harper uncovers the deepest, darkest secret of them all.
This is the second of Keri Beevis' books and Im getting to really like her writing style. The slow build is great as this is where the character development happens so it gives you a good sense of who they are. For me, it makes them feel more human and flawed which I tend to bond better and care about them. The pacing of the book flows well and with the duel POV, Harper herself and a mystery man, it becomes evident that these 2 narratives are going to collide. But at what cost to Harper?
The last 1/3 of the book becomes very tense, keeps you engaged to the very end.

There is content that might be triggering for some, so please read the trigger warnings!
While the beginning was slow, the book picked up and I was fully invested. Harper is the main character as she ventures into the crazy world of online dating after losing her husband in a car accident. Harper discovers secrets her husband was keeping as she clears his things out of their house.
There are also chapters throughout narrated by Harper's stalker. There are so many twists, turns and secrets in this book. The pages had me enthralled as the plot developed. I just had to know what was going to happen at the end and who the culprit was. I enjoyed this gripping thriller from Beevis!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
