~2 books in 1~
~This review is for both books~

I did not enjoy these books at all. There were also different plots happening within the main plot of the story. This combined with the narrators frequently changing disturbed the flow of the book. Jewell’s depiction of the female main characters in these stories is cause for concern. They are written as weak women that are unable to “save themselves” and need the help of the male main characters (whom often leave a lot to be desired, bordering on abusive). They give in easily to their physical desires without holding their male counterparts accountable for their behavior or speaking their truth. I don’t think this is the message we should be sending to women let alone young female readers. There were also enough spelling and grammatical errors within the stories that it was distracting while reading. Unfortunately, these are not the type of stories I would recommend given the depiction of women and men. In the past, I have enjoyed Jewell’s books but this is not one of them.

Known for her mystery and thriller novels, I wasn't expecting a romance novel from the author. In You'll Find Out, the book is a compilation of two different romance novels. And I didn't see the point of combining the two into a single book.

The narratives follow the second chance romance trope, and they didn't give any warm and fuzzy feelings. It just felt too sterile for me. And the characters were not at all likable. They were all so wishy-washy which was a little frustrating for me.

Maybe this was a one off for me so I'll still continue to seek out other novels from this author. Two okay stars for this particular novel.

I received a DRC from Kensington Publishing through NetGalley. This review is my own and reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.

I couldn’t even make it through the first story in this set. The characters didn’t feel like they had that much chemistry and frankly this story did not age well. MMC felt like an aggressive asshole and the MFC was acting like she was in the 50s not the 80s. This does make the style of the romances written in the 80s but at this point we should leave them there.

Thank you NetGally for an early copy.

I didn't realize this was a two story collection of previously published works. The stories involve second chances. There were a good many highly detailed sexual scenes that I started to skip through because the didn't add to the story at all. I honestly felt a dislike for a few of the characters. The main character females are completely caught up in the past, lamenting losing the one that got away.

This might be more for people who really enjoy romance. While I felt they were as good as any other romance book, they really weren't for me.

You’ll Find Out is really two older books brought back in one volume, The Shadow of Time and Gypsy Wind. Both are good reads about second chances and the complexity of family.

This is a combo book of two previously published short stories! Being short stories, there isn't a lot of story to either one, but you get enough to enjoy and try out this author's excellent writing style. Definitely a recommended duo!

This is a republish of two short stories previously published. Not too much to write about, was ok. I generally like this author and I should have looked into it more before requesting.

Lisa Jackson is a one click author for me. You’ll Find Out was a great duo of stories by her. Previously released as two short stories now combined into one I would definitely recommend it!

This is the story of Mara and Shane. Mara was pregnant with Shane’s child but she believed he was dead and ended up married to a man who said he would take care of her and the child. Now she is widowed and is shocked to learn Shane is alive. I liked the story but thought Shane was a jerk at times and completely unreasonable. The ending was predictable but I still enjoyed the book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This one is two stories in one.
The first The Shadow of Time is a story about Shane and Mara. I liked the plot line but I thought Shane was a jerk. But overall the story was a good read.
The second, Gypsy Wind was a very good read. I loved the plot line and the characters. Brig and Becca were such a good couple. If only their past and attitudes would let them be.
Many thanks to Kensington and Netgalley for the chance to read and review this one. I love Lisa Jackson’s books.

“You’ll Find Out” by Lisa Jackson is a literary work that originally consisted of two distinct novels. However, these two narratives have been seamlessly integrated into a single book.

Story one is called “The Shadow of Time.”

The inconsistent narrative shifts in the initial chapter presented a slight challenge in comprehending the story. The abrupt transitions between Mara’s and Shane’s perspectives were jarring and made it difficult to discern the flow of the narrative. Overall, the story was pretty good. I found myself agreeing with Mara and others with Shane at times. The ending was a bit rushed, but it was still a good one.

Story two was called, “Gypsy Wind.”

This one wasn’t my favorite of the two because I could guess what happened pretty quickly. But I still enjoyed the characters’ love story!

Over all this book is a 3/5 for me.

Two short stories, both previously published. Not enough in either story to keep me interested. Romantic mysteries both fairly stereotypical.

This book combines two engaging stories, 'The Shadow of Time' and 'Gypsy Wind' and I thoroughly enjoyed them both! Each story has its own charm, with central themes of love, loss, and second chances that kept me hooked from start to finish.

In 'The Shadow of Time' Mara and Shane’s reunion after years apart is full of tension, secrets, and emotional twists. I couldn’t help but feel for Mara as she faced Shane’s anger and the complex web of deceit surrounding them. The side characters weren’t exactly likable—most were snobbish and self-absorbed—but they added to the drama. It’s a quick read with plenty of emotional weight.

'Gypsy Wind' was just as compelling but had a completely different vibe. Becca and Brig’s story is set against the backdrop of the high-stakes horse racing world, and the chemistry between them practically sizzles off the page. The unresolved tension from their past added a lot of depth, and I loved how Becca’s strength came through despite the challenges she faced.

Both stories were easy to read and perfectly paced, making it hard to put the book down. If you enjoy romance with a touch of drama and fiery emotions, this collection is a great pick.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I enjoy reading Lisa Jackson' s books. This one was even better because I got two books for the price of one. Both stories were well written. I was glad to see that both of the stories had a happy ending. This was a little different from my usual reading. I usually read mysteries and true crime.

Lisa Jackson brings us two stories. In our first story, we find Mara who has just buried her husband only to find out that the man she thought was lost to her forever has returned. And he wants both her and his daughter. Shane is tired of waiting and Mara is needing more time to prepare both her daughter and the family she married into and has headed their toy company. Will Shane and Mara be able to compromise to forge a new future together, or will their stubbornness be a detriment to them? In our second story, we find Becca needing to talk to Brig about her current situation but fearing their past would cloud his judgement. Will Becca and Brig be able to get past what broke them or will the mystery that still exists divide them?

Lisa Jackson brings us two stories in one. While they are short, they still have everything you want in a Lisa Jackson novel. Read to follow these four characters as they figure out what is important and what they feel they are obligated to do for their family and themselves. See how they wrestle with what they want and what they should do and how love and trust plays into what they ultimately do.

I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Publishing | Zebra for this privilege.

Ninguna de las historias me gustó. Las protagonistas son personas débiles y manipulables que perdonan a los protagonistas sin importar lo que les hagan.

Que alguien aleje a Becca de esos pobres caballos.

Two great reads. Mara can’t believe that Shane is alive. She thought that he had died all those years ago. She had no choice but to marry another man. He is also gone now all that is left is her daughter. But she fears that Shane will take her away now that he knows about her. Shane can’t believe that she moved on so quickly & he can’t Mara let another bring up their daughter. Can they put the past behind them and move forward?

Rebecca lost everything the man that she loved, her reputation and a prized thoroughbred horse. She has taken a long time to find a way through all that pain and now everything has come full circle. She never thought that she would need to see Brig again. But he needs her but can he let her walk away again? They have a painful past that was filled with so many dreams but that was all taken away. But can they find their way back together again? Will they be stronger together than apart?

Good reads. Stronger characters.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for the copy. This is my voluntary review.
