Blake Chastain's book “Exvangelical and Beyond” is an excellent entry point in understanding White evangelicalism and the inevitability of the Exvangelically phenomenom. Chastain begins with a insightful overview of the history of the White Evangelical movement in the United States, and although not comphrehensive, it surfaced details I had not know before that were infuriating, but painted a clearer picture of how we arrived at our current political state. Interspered in this historical review, Chastain recounts some of his own experiences growing up in the movement that I found relateable and that echoed my own experiences coming of age in the under the shadow of the "Moral Majority" I highly recommed Blake Chastain's "Exvangelical and Beyond".
