I loved this book, enjoyed both main characters, and appreciated how fast-paced it was.

As a mental health advocate, I love how it highlighted how caregivers often have to flip their lives for the ones they love. Such an easy yet heartwarming read. I think this is my favorite of the series.

10/10 would recommend.

Life Lessons from Samantha and Xavier:

Life isn’t always fair. Sometimes it’s really unfair.
Timing is everything.
It’s much hotter in the car—too hot—even with the windows cracked.
You’ll never get today back.
Social media can sell anything if you’re creative enough.
Some people shouldn’t be parents—human or otherwise.
Veterinarians hide their wings under their scrubs.
Don’t bother arguing with a narcissist.
Avoid escape rooms that also have mini golf, arcade prizes, and a bar.

Samantha and Xavier‘s love story is not the most tragic thing in this book, but sometimes it feels that way. Just when you think you know who will be able to bend in order to bring them together, you see further inside the others’ life and change your mind.

Modern “romance novels”are made by the banter between the two characters and this is another example. Unfortunately, Xavier and Sam are trying not to talk to each other for part of the book and and much of the rest of it, they are too busy to manage more than text messages. But when they do banter…

Those same romances also seem to be really sad, even when they have cute illustrations on the front…often with a dog. This one certainly produced some tears, which is not just because of the long-distance romance, but because of the dementia, a history of abuse, and other real-world struggles that are present in their lives. If those are sensitive areas for you, you may want to skip this one.

There are many great books coming out in April. While this may not be the my top pick, it’s a sweet story that should almost be labeled a mystery because you’ll be racking your brain to figure out how they are going to end up in the same place for more than 48 hours.

Thank you to Abby Jimenez, NetGalley, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with a free advanced copy of this ebook for my unbiased review.

my abby lovers pls read at your own discretion!! because this is my first book by this author, idk if it's the book that just didn't sit right with me or maybe just her writing style isn't a match for what i look for in a romance novel. that being said i know so many people love her and have loved this book!! reading is subjective so i hope if you do read this book that you love it!!

that being said!! this is one of my least favorite romances and quite honestly a reminder of everything i don't love about the genre. if you've read my reviews you know that in order for me to love a romance, it has to be down to earth, and for me this was too over the top (either sooo cheesy OR depressing as shit). the love story and the trauma story both felt so surface level like she was just trying to complete a checklist that turned into a book. there was no character development and honestly it was hard to differentiate between POVs. i felt both main characters very hard to connect to and i dont really think any sort of chemistry was shown to make the insta-love believable to me. also those poor people knew almost no joy this entire book! the absolute trauma spectacle of this book is on another level. she was trying to throw SO MUCH IN that literally none of it worked.

here's what i DID LIKE:
hank
samantha's dad

ty to netgalley and forever for the arcyyyy i wish i had better things to say ILY <3

Hot and broody veterinarian Xavier Rush meets fun and lively Samantha Diaz. After getting off on the wrong foot, they happen to reconnect. One thing leads to another and before we know it, Xavier and Samantha are having the best date of their lives. It's the stuff movies are made about. It just feels right. But they each face their own demons in their personal life. Can they forget the perfect match they make and move on, or are some things worth remembering?

I gave 3 stars to Abby Jimenez's new release "Say You'll Remember Me". My favorite thing about this book was how realistic it felt: Meeting someone who feels like your soulmate when you least except it. And then only to be moving across the country the next day. Two working adults at big points in their careers. Money being tight. And most of all, the way that dementia and memory care can permanently alter your family and every person in your life. The way that Abby wrote this storyline into this book was done in a way that made you really envision yourself in Samantha's shoes and ask yourself what you would do in this situation. It's the hard realities of caring for a loved one who no longer remembers you and the physical and mental toll caring for them takes.

I could relate to the long distance struggle of dating and I felt so seen in Samantha's longing for Xavier to be present for all the little moments in your everyday routine. I loved the appreciation this book gave to all the little moments that we so easily take for granted. The sibling dialogue, especially with Tristian, made me laugh out loud at times.

Although the romance was sweet, I felt that a lot of the dialogue felt very internet brain rot heavy.... many of the phrases felt like they were just popular phrases taken from the comment section of a viral Tiktok. It took away from the heavy themes of the book and made it feel silly to me. I also am not the biggest fan of "insta-love" tropes and although this worked for the storyline, it's personally not my favorite.

I recommend this book for readers looking for a good balance between romance and other themes of a book, fans of "insta-love" and those who can relate to long distance relationships.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever Publishing for an early copy of this book!

"Say You'll Remember Me" is a tough book to review. I knew going in it was going to be a very emotional read, Abby Jimenez isn't afraid to add tragic backstories to her characters, give them debilitating illnesses, insecurities, or commitment phobia, but this one hit harder than others. I took a long time to figure out my feelings on this novel, and I have to say it is the saddest, most tragic novel Jimenez has published to date. Don't be fooled by the illustrated cover and bright colors, this book is focused on personal sacrifice, the terror of caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease, and deeply scarring child abuse and neglect. This novel is by no means a romcom. It has romantic moments, and the characters feel very real, but at the same time, I wanted to shake them, mainly Samantha in particular.

Samantha sacrifices her future relationship with Xavier to aid in taking care of her mom who lives across the country and has early onset Alzheimer's disease and it is clear that Jimenez really engaged with experts on the illness because it feels so very real. What I couldn't get behind is that at no point is it mentioned if Samantha's mother would want her to make this deeply personal sacrifice. I can't delve too much further into this plot point too much but the way this family cares physically for her mother is borderline asinine and painful. I may be putting my own parental trauma too much into the forefront here, but I could not see myself making the sacrifices Samantha made for her mother. I am definitely more in line with how Xavier feels about his parents, which are on the opposite side of the spectrum. His parents were abusive and neglectful in every aspect and he doesn't have a relationship with them since.

This was not a fun read, and it took me a month to get through until I realized the release date was coming up fast and I powered through the pain. I can't recommend this per se because I personally had such a hard time getting through it, but it does have a lot of things book clubs could discuss, especially when contrasting Xavier's relationship with his parents to Samatha's.

3 stars for this book truly hurts my heart. But I have to be honest and this book just didn’t do it for me. I was stressed 80% of the book. Here the thing, I can totally get behind the insta love/meet cute and long distance relationships. But I think the execution was a big flop. I didn’t feel the feelings I was craving, especially when it comes to romance.

What I loved: Xavier and Samantha were top tier characters and I loved the dual POV. Samantha with a great sense of humor and Xavier with the sweetest heart. Both amazing people trying to navigate hard situations. The writing was smooth, with some rememberable banter that Abby Jimenez is known for!

Even though this book wasn’t for me, I do recommend it! Abby Jimenez is such a talented author and is one of my favorite authors of all time!

To say that this book is my favorite of the year so far would be an understatement! I would give this 6 stars if I could, and I have been thinking about the characters nonstop since finishing a few days ago.

Say You'll Remember Me follows Samantha and Xavier, who meet one day when Samantha brings a cat she's rescued to the vet and (you guessed it), he's her vet. Once he starts speaking he says the absolute * wrong * things which makes Samantha believe he's a complete asshole, and one she wants to prove wrong. After coming back together a while later, they go on a date that is seemingly never-ending (find out when you read) but then have to part ways as Samantha is moving home to support her family.

This book felt extremely realistic and relatable which is one of the things I loved the most. It was so much more than just a story about a long-distance relationship, but also involved deep family ties. By the end of the book I felt so connected to every character, including the ones in Samantha's family that you meet. It was fast paced and engaging, and I loved every moment of it.

A couple trigger warnings I'll flag is that it does involve a character with advanced dementia & mention of past emotional and physical child abuse.

Overall this book was one of my favorite Abby Jimenez books to date - I flew through it and would highly recommend! Thank you to the author and Forever Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly was not expecting to get this emotional with this book. It absolutely tore my heart out! Some subjects hit too close to home and I had to stop reading a couple times and then go back to it. I guess if you want your heart tore out then this book is what you want. The writing was beautiful as always with this author. Another complete hit from them!

This was such a great read! It felt different from Abby Jimenez’s other books, but in a good way. It was really emotional and heartfelt. Definitely worth the read! I found the long distance relationship aspect of the story to be really compelling. Jimenez pulled this off really well. I thought the chemistry between Xavier and Samantha was really well done! I thought that Xavier and Samantha had really great chemistry. It was so easy to love both of them.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

A beautiful, BEAUTIFUL story. But so sad. I had to pause about 60% through and set it aside for a week or so because the story made me too sad. It also probably hit a little too close to home for me to be able to enjoy it fully.
Just know going into it that it is very sad and will make you cry. It's a "will get worse before it gets better" kind of sad, it's a while until you see the sun peeking through.

⚠️ Sensitive subjects:: Dementia, very complex family drama, emotional and physical abuse, animal cruelty,.

Emotional long distance romance novel.

This is a heartfelt letter to all lovers of romance novels. This book goes beyond mere fluff; it is infused with genuine emotion and depth. This is a strong reminder of why I love romance novels. It spoke to my soul..

Sam and Xavier embody the purest form of selfless love and authenticity.

4.5 stars rounded up

Synopsis: After Samantha and Xavier have the perfect first date, she moves across the country to California to care for her ailing mother. As the owner of his own veterinary clinic, Xavier can’t leave Minnesota. Unable to forget their feelings for one another, they try to make a long distance relationship work.

Thoughts: Starting off with a super fun meet-cute, Say You’ll Remember Me pulled me in immediately. And if that hadn’t been enough, I would’ve been a goner at hot and grumpy veteriarian mmc with a heart of gold. Samantha and Xavier are both really great main characters with compelling backstories. Together, their chemistry and banter are top notch. There was a bit in the middle that dragged some for me as we dealt with the back and forth logistics of a long-distance relationship, but it was all worth it in the end. This one deals with some heavier subject matter than most of Abby’s previous works - there are still a lot of funny rom com moments, but it has a serious side. I loved the overarching theme that what makes life worth living is making memories with those you love.

Samantha meets Xavier, a gorgeous veterinarian, when she rescues a kitten. Though their first encounter wasn’t exactly a meet-cute, they see each other again and they end up on a beautiful – seemingly – endless date. But even as she wishes it could last forever; she must come back to reality and move thousands of miles away to help her family. Yet, they can’t seem to forget each other, and the distance between them is not enough to keep them away from each other’s life.

I admit that when I requested this ARC, I didn’t expect it to be this sad. This book broke me, but it was so beautiful. I felt so deeply the struggles of a long-distance relationship, and how huge of an impact it makes when both are there for each other even if it’s not physically possible at all moments.  The weight of words and acts of kindness, and the emotional support in general. I felt seen on Samantha, her thoughts and inner battles while giving her best to everyone around her. And Xavier was the greenest flag that has ever existed, and on top of that, he loves puppies!

⭐️: 4/5
🌶️: 1/5
I love Abby Jimenez’s books and I’ve been waiting for this one since it was announced!!

Likes:
1. I loved Xavier and Samantha and how emotionally mature they were for being in their late 20’s.
2. For the most part, they share with each other what they are thinking and feeling so there isn’t much angst, which makes it an insta-love relationship.
3. Abby handles the several difficult issues throughout the book very well, especially living with a family member with dementia and the decisions family members may need to make (definitely read the trigger warnings).
4. Dr. Hank and how that story came full circle. (You’ll have to read it!)

Dislikes:
1. There were times where more information could have been shared with the reader instead of us finding out with the other characters.
2. The book felt a little rushed and I think it was mostly because of the insta-love trope.

This is my first ever written book review. I didn’t realize how difficult it would be to give a review and try not to reveal any spoilers.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for allowing me to read the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am so grateful to have been able to receive an arc for one of my favorite authors! This book honestly isn’t my favorite of hers but I will still read anything Abby Jimenez puts out LOL! This story had the emotional levels that I liked but personally I felt the pace was a little too fast. The romance definitely felt like insta-love which isn’t my favorite. However I did like the characters a lot and the storyline was really good. Most of the situations felt authentic and really heightened that emotional factor. This one did have some heavier topics than her usual ones which I personally liked. Overall it wasn’t my favorite but I still enjoyed the read.

Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez 🫶🏼

Thank you to @readforeverpub for an eARC and to @magersandquinn for sending my copy earlier than the April 1st release date ♥️

Read this if you enjoy:
- long distance relationship
- “grumpy” MMC
- the GREENEST flag MMC
- insta-love

I apologize in advance for all the million times ya’ll will probably hear Wildest Dreams this week 😂 This book had so much more than a romance to it, it had difficult family dynamics and the wonderful dad jokes, typical of Abby’s humor. I adored Xavier, because who doesn’t love a man who loves animals?

This book was just so bingeable and addicting that it'll be difficult for you to put this one down. I am not the biggest fan of Insta-Love but I LOVED how down bad Xavier was. Truly he is everything all of us want in a man. This book does have minimal spice compared to her other books (which is by the way not a bad thing) I just wanted to mention it for those who love spice.

I want to say more but I won’t spoil it so I suggest you run to your nearest bookstore to grab your copies on April 1st ♥️

(I will post the link to my IG post tomorrow morning once it is posted then.)

Abby hits again. This was such a beautiful book. I read it in a day. It was hard to put it down!!

I really connected with Xavier and his family dynamic. I was able to understand him and loved the story more. I think Abby does a great job of displaying family dynamics and how impactful it can be.

Great book!!

*I beta read an early edition of this book and later voluntarily read and listened to an advance review copy.*

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Abby Jimenez. I love how she balances humor and more emotional topics in her books. Say You'll Remember Me is no different. The journey our characters take is a tough one and Samantha's relationship with her family is a huge part of the story. For this reason, I would classify this book more as women's fiction than romance (though the romance plays a large role too).

Things to expect:
- right person, wrong time
- meet disaster
- grumpy + sunshine
- found family
- an all in cinnamon roll hero
- an epic first date
- long distance love
- playlists
- caretaking/taking care of a loved one
- no third act break up
- Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners
- pop culture references

I really appreciated the honest and raw depiction of caring for a loved one with advanced dementia, but I recognize that may be very difficult for some readers, so please read with care. The tone of the book is fairly somber, but it only makes those tender and heartfelt moments shine even more. The ending comes together beautifully (and yes, conveniently), but I think it's what readers needed after that emotional journey. Fans of Abby Jimenez are sure to love this one.

I both read and listened to this one, and the audio is phenomenal! I definitely recommend experiencing the story this way if at all possible. Christine Lakin and Matt Lanter sounded amazing together! They both used a variety of voices to bring the story to life and conveyed so much emotion in their performances. The best part is that the audiobook is narrated in duet style and so Lakin always voices Samantha and Lanter always voices Xavier. Truly don't miss this audiobook!

CW from the author (possible spoilers):

This book contains detailed descriptions of someone with advanced dementia. There's mention of a cheating spouse of a side character, mention of past child abuse both physical and emotional. Mention of animal abuse, cruelty, neglect, and death. There's a scene where a dog is in peril (the dog doesn't die). Sudden off-page death of a side character with a heart condition.
