There has not been a book that has made me sob as hard as this one did. These characters are so lovable and you can't help but feel for them as they endure so much to be together. This book to me was heavier than Abby's previous books, which I didn't mind at all, but I would recommend trigger warnings before diving in. I read this in 2 days because I could not put it down and it honestly helped with my eyeball reading slump. The kitten butthole really gave you a false sense of security at the beginning and does not prepare you for having your heart ripped out at all. This is now my all time favorite Abby book and I say give it a try if you've loved any of Abby's other books. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the gifted eARC. Abby Jimenez does it again. A long-distance whirlwind romance that makes you believe in nearly impossible love. From the first page you’re rooting for the characters. This book dealt with a health condition that impacted a lot of people in the book and Jimenez doesn’t shy away from the whole spectrum of reactions. It makes her characters human and it makes me connect with them, as someone with a similar condition in my family. A handsome and charming and grumpy Veterinarian who saves animals who falls for a stubborn and creative and beautiful woman who runs social media for a mustard brand. I laughed, I cried, I loved this book!

This book was really upsetting to me for a lot of different reasons. And I am an Abby Lover, so it actually makes me so sad this was such a huge miss for me. But it missed. By a lot. So yeah if you’re excited for this/read and loved don’t read this review! I dont wanna harp too much on it but here’s a list of what I liked and didn’t like

- The amount of comments about cat ass. Almost every chapter from start to finish
- This is a book about a vet and somehow animal death in like a sad and honestly kind of slap in the face way (from start to about maybe 50% of the way through???) was such a big theme in this?? Maybe I’m just too sensitive??? But it started off with the talk of putting animals down and then it just got worse. I hated it.
- The lack of character development and also depth? I don’t know anything about these characters except for the fact that their life SUCKS. And they somehow assumed love would cure all (and IM A HOPELESS ROMANTIC ROMANCE ONLY READER. DO YOU KNOW HOW CRAZY IT IS FOR ME OF ALL PEOPLE TO BE LIKE “this doesn’t make sense love isn’t enough what are they doing”)
- Trauma after trauma after trauma. The fmc couldn’t catch a mfing break and you know what? Neither did the mmc. Which brings me to my next point.
- THE FMC WAS SELFISH. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry to say. Someone in her position (actively watching someone suffer from a medical condition they can’t control) should’ve taken the initiative and said to the mmc “hey!!!! I see the physical and emotional impact this relationship has on you and we both know it’s not sustainable so I’m breaking up with you!!”
- The fact that these characters literally knew 3 pages of joy??? They were both literally suffering the entire book.
- Lastly (for now bc I am going to watch Abbott elementary) I feel like this book really pushed the idea that to be in love is to A) believe it conquers all and B) that “love” is about/worth pushing yourself to the point of mental and physical exhaustion. That to me actually really pisses me off because you cannot be the best partner OR best version of yourself if you are consistently sacrificing and HURTING YOURSELF just because you love someone.

Abby really really really disappointed me off with this one I fear. The overall content, how things were handled in this book, the lack of reasoning behind making these two people so. sad.

Abby Jimenez has such a way of writing beautifully heartbreaking love stories. I laughed, I cried, I gasped—and then cried some more. Xavier and Samantha felt so real, their emotions completely became my own. Their heartbreak and challenges they faced together and individually were done extremely well and with such care.

Abby lovers won’t be disappointed! It’s got all of her signatures—big emotions, complicated family dynamics, and laugh-out-loud banter. Xavier is essentially the perfect guy, and his and Samantha’s love ignites fast. Watching them overcome the distance holding them back is sweet and satisfying. Fans of hunky tall vets (heh me) and hurt/comfort will find a ton to swoon over.

No one is more disappointed than me to say that I didn't enjoy this. And strap in, because this is a slight rage review.

WHY in gods name did this book have to be so depressing?? The first third of this book contained all of the romance - the insta-connection, the first date, the starting an exclusive long distance relationship. After that this turned into the most emotionally charged, depressing, snoozefest! Why was it necessary for them to keep having such struggles? It felt like trauma porn. Every terrible thing that happened to one of them made me think "surely this must get better now, its a ROMANTIC COMEDY!" Yet every depressing setback led to another and then another, until I was totally bogged down with how depressing these peoples' lives were. It took me two weeks to read this because I was so uninterested in the trauma. And even at the end when I hoped we would have a cathartic moment of hope that made it all worth it? Nope! I was just angry at how much time I spent with this story and these characters when it felt like their lives kind of sucked still by the end. And I'm sorry...they got MARRIED?? After knowing each other for a year??? Girl stop.

I loved Abby's Part of Your World trilogy but I'm definitely souring on her after this book.

First of all i just want to say im a huge Abby fan-most of her books have been 5 star reads for me. However, this one just suffered from FAR too much difficulty in the characters lives. The romance gets lost in their struggles, imo. There’s a parent with dementia (this would have sufficed for plot friction) but throw in abusive parents for the MMC, long distance, and financial struggles and it was just a pit of despair. Also…insta love. Not for me but maybe for you.

It's 4am and I cannot wait to put my thoughts into this review. I just finished Say You'll Remember Me after reading it one sitting. How do I start? This book is amazing. Abby Jimenez is an awesome storyteller and author. Im in awe the whole time I was reading this book thinking wow, she can write. The amount of highlights I made on this ebook was crazy but understandbly because it is THAT good. I love Abby's books because she writes love stories that dont seem so out of reality. The characters are so realistic and I love reading their struggles and triumphs. This book was not an exception.

Say You'll Remember Me follows Xavier and Samantha. Xavier is a vet and Samantha is a social media manager for a mustard company. Their meet cute is so funny. They had one epic date but then Samantha had to leave MN the next day to move to CA and take care of her mom. What ensues is both of these MCs going through the toughest challenges and tests but both fought for each other. Honestly, Xavier is just top tier book boyfriend. The things he did for Samantha, I was like wow. I cheered and rooted for these two. I was ao invested, I couldnt put the book down. I wanted to know what happens next, will they survive. All the side characters just like any of Abby Jimenez' books are top notch too. Samantha's family, the ladies at the clinic, Hank, the friend group - each side character had a purpose and something to learn from. Their relationships with Samantha and Xavier was dynamic and was instrumental to the story. I love that no character seemed clunky. Everyone is meant to be there.

I love a book that makes you think and ponder about life. People say readers read books to escape reality and for me that is still true but for me, readers also like reading about life and how some of these books can be parallel to real life and how to handle it. I love that this book did both - I was watching a fictional love story unfold but I was also seeing parallels to my own life in some ways.

I cannot express enough how much I love this book. I probably will not stop yapping about it and make it my whole personality.

Another hit from Abby Jimenez that will have you wishing her male main characters were real. The same heartwarming emotional romantic stories that Jimenez is known for will have you tearing through this book just like her others.

I’ve had this book for a while now and I’m so mad at myself for waiting so long to read it. Abby has once again written a masterpiece!

Getting to reread Samantha and Xavier’s introduction (since we got the sneak peak back in The Situationship) was just as good as the first time and it only went up from there. Just when they felt like they finally found their person, distance gets in the way when the day after their first date, Samantha is moving 1,000 miles away to help her family with her mother.

I understood Samantha so much in putting her family needs at the top of her priorities, especially as a Mexican daughter like Samantha. We got some great scenes with her sister and brothers that were super relatable and entertaining to read.

And Xavier was just the perfect guy all around. He was patient, caring, the rock you can lean on when everything feels like it’s falling apart, exactly what Samantha needed. But he had his own problems holding him back from being where he wanted to be.

This book had me laughing, crying, and in a ball of anxiety all at the same time. I could not put it down, I literally finished it in one day. The slow burn was slow-burning and I could feel the character’s desperation, that’s how well the characters were written.

I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes, because I already need more!

At this point, Abby could write anything and I’d read it. She has just mastered her craft.

This book was so good. We have two people who meet for a first date and then one character moves across the country that next day. Miles separating them, but neither could get the other off their mind. While this book was SO cute, it tackled a lot of heavy topics. Health wise and family wise. I loved the balance but there were parts of me that were just sad AND I WANTED TO BE HAPPY. But understandable, Abby writes more realistic love than just our swooning hot love. I still couldn’t put it down! It was a binge for me.

This was my first Abby Jimenez novel, but it won't be my last. The characters deal with real world issues, from a parent with dementia to financial burdens, and the long-distance romance resonated for me, because my husband and I did that for a year before we married. I also liked the message that family includes the people you choose, not just those who are blood-related.

Abby Jimenez is my absolute favorite author and this book just makes me love her even more! If I could rate this book higher than 5 stars I would, I’ve already read it twice.

She’s the meet cute queen and I loved how Samantha and xavier met. Abby also handles difficult topics with such care and I go from crying one minute to laughing the next.

Incredible book and I am already counting down the days until her 2026 release!

Abby Jimenez could fart on a piece of paper and I’d cry reading it before adding it to my favorite book list.

The only time I stopped kicking my feet and giggling was to ugly cry.

Say You'll Remember Me was such a great romance. It felt real and I had all kinds of emotions while reading it. Abby Jimenez has become one of my favorite author. Run and get yourself a copy, you will not be disappointed.

Abby Jimenez fails to let me and down and this book is another fantastic story from her! I really enjoyed that the pacing and development of the relationship between Samantha and Xavier was different from most contemporary romances. They have an exclusive relationship from early on in the book and it develops and changes over time rather than the end game being the couple finally ending up together. I think Abby’s portrayal of dementia and caring for an ailing family member was very accurate. She properly showcases the struggle with resentment, the grief of losing someone while they’re still alive, and the toll it can take on the dynamics between other family members. Overall, I think Say You’ll Remember Me is a more unique, realistic romance that I really enjoyed.

Samantha and Xavier’s story kicks off with love at first sight/insane chemistry that made me SO HAPPY. He’s a grumpy, kind of stoic veterinarian and she’s a hilarious social media marketing manager for a mustard company. I laughed out loud several times while reading. Abby is the queen of layered storytelling. We journey with Sam and Xavier while their relationship grows through distance, really difficult family dynamics, and loss. By the end of this book, I was in tears. Perfect for lovers of emotional character-driven romance.

Their relationship is one they both need and deserve as Samantha helps Xavier find the family relationships he has been cruelly denied all his life, and Xavier helps Samantha and her family in moments of drama and loss.
This was an emotional and realistic read. I will be recommending this book.
