This wasn't my favorite Abby Jimenez book, unfortunately. I found the chemistry between Sam and Xavier lacking. I think it was supposed to be an insta-love trope, but it missed the mark in my opinion. And the trigger warning mentions dementia/Alzheimers, which should ABSOLUTELY be heeded. Abby's books in general have more depth than the usual fluff of the romance genre, but the romance in this book was almost a sub-plot to the family dynamics of having to share caregiving responsibilities and all that comes with having a family member in that situation. I wouldn't recommend this for first time Abby Jimenez readers, unless they're looking for more of an emotional book.

This book is a bit hard to define, since it is not just a rom com but fiction dealing with some difficult issues. Samantha and Xavier meet, fall instantly in love, and face a series of obstacles, including living in two distant states, California and Minnesota. The heavy issue of dementia I felt was handled sensitively and realistically, as was the issue use of child abuse. The heavy parts of the book resonated, but the romance was a bit contrived. I would still recommend it as I did feel emotionally involved and moved. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I’m sure it’s no surprise I loved Say You’ll Remember Me. I am a sucker for books with pets and veterinarians as well as long distance relationships so it’s a no brainer. I like to see that pining and worry about how things will work out. Sorry if that makes me mean but it’s like the hate to love trope, there’s the conflict that keeps you interested. Abby Jimenez does a great job at tackling hard topics in her romances while keeping enough light hearted and laugh out loud moments in the book so it’s not just a tear fest. I absolutely loved the journey Xavier and Samantha had to get to their HEA and how Xavier just really stood up for her. I can’t wait for Abby Jimenez next book.

Abby Jimenez has written another beautiful book. This one was very deep, and I had so many feelings. These characters are amazing.

Definitely a lot of tension in this one with the long distance relationship. Author is one of my favorites but this isn’t my fave from her. Too much time spent complaining about how impossible it will be to be together and not enough of them actually having real conflict beyond the distance. Appreciated the family drama aspects of the book though.

I loved every minute of the book, but at the end, my first thought was that I want to read a heterosexual romance novel told from the point of view of the guy. I want to see him totally swept off his feet. Let someone else drop everything in their life and move 2,000 miles away for love.

This novel was fun and quirky with interesting characters told with depth and emotion. A perfect summer read, and what we expect from Jimenez.

Don’t let the light, fluffy, summery vibe cover fool you. This book is EMOTIONAL. I cried so much, I think I cried all my mascara off 😭😭😭 This book is not for the faint of heart and you have to be in a good mindset when approaching it.

The romance is top-notch and Xavier says all the things every girl wants to hear from their man, but it is just as much a book about grieving someone who is not dead yet and the reality of being a caregiver.

5 star heartbreak 💔

With all the controversy around the ratings for this book, it was an easy five-star read for me and I don’t care what anyone says 💁🏻‍♀️. Even if I had been handed this book without the author’s name on it, I would’ve still loved it. Samantha was so freaking funny and Xavier was hot and broody but also the gentlest soul and total boyfriend material. I felt their chemistry within the first couple of chapters. The complex family dynamics felt so real, probably a sad reality for so many people, and yes, I cried. A lot. So honestly, we already knew I was going to love it. If you’re on the fence because of a few bad reviews, hop off and give it a try. Every book has its flaws, but I found this one to be the perfect mix of romance, humor, emotion, and depth. And the cute animals with big personalities? Just an extra touch of perfection.

Say You'll Remember Me is another masterpiece by Abby Jimenez. I had two grandparents with Dementia, and I work with people with Dementia and their families. Abby did an authentic job providing a genuine representation of Dementia and caring for a person with it. I haven't read a book that covers the love, emotions, frustration, anger, and quality of life decisions involved with Dementia. Yes, this book is a romance, and I love Samantha and Xavier too! They both developed through their different family dynamics throughout the novel. Overall, I loved the whole story even more because many families unfortunately know Dementia in some capacity.

Abby Jimenez's latest release, Say You'll Remember me, was full of laughter and tears. The sheer amount of adversity the characters go through to try to stay together was as frustrating and sad as it was heartwarming. Jimenez has an ability like no other author to wrap real life issues in a fictional package and help people feel seen.

I absolutely gobbled this up and romance readers will no doubt do the same.

This was my first Abbey Jimenez title and I was immediately hooked. She weaves the perfect fairytale romance into a real world setting with relatable characters & family dynamics. I was seeing myself in so many of these scenarios. I think that's the perfect blend of realism a romance reader can enjoy.

Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for the advanced copy!!

I enjoyed this new release from Abby! I would say this reads differently than her others that I've read by her in the past. I do miss the magical elements that we saw in Part of Your World and some of her earlier books. More of Abby's new releases deal heavily with real life scenarios and situations that need to be handled with care. I was able to really see the amount of time and research that Abby put into writing an ill parent, what it's like to be a vet, and how to deal with these weighty situations.

Overall, aside from the characters taking forever to realize what they really wanted, I thought this book was good! Like I said, not my favorite from Abby but still a good read!

I love Abby and everything she writes. This book was beyond heartbreaking and I wanted nothing but the best for Sammantha and Xavier the whole time I was reading. I love the way Xavier bonds with Samantha's nephews and he learns about how important he is. I loved the women who work for him in the clinic and I loved the whole story. It was great but because of how sad it was I had to lower it from 5 stars to 4, just too heartbreaking!!!

I really enjoyed this book & I love Abby Jimenez's writing. This book made me have all of the emotions!! I cried and laughed A LOT. The back and forth was driving me crazy but it was sweet the characters were trying to make it work however they could. This hit home for me because my grandma can barely remember my name but my papa has been by her side for 50+ years. I loved it so much. Thank you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of one of my most anticipated reads of 2025!

This one definitely lived up to the hype. I loved so much about it - the characters, setting, themes, and even how tougher subjects were woven throughout.

Such a beautiful story - I sobbed at the end.

Highly recommend

This book was absolutely heartwarming. I do not think I have ever read a romance book with long distance like this before and i did not think I would enjoy it BUT boy was I wrong. I love everything Abby Jimenez writes and this is no exception. The way that the characters are both relatable and hilarious just makes me want to keep reading. She has a way of incorporating humorous banter and funny moments in the middle of turmoil that is incredible. I enjoyed every single moment of this story and already want to reread it.

I liked this! It was very cute and I loved how this book spanned the course of their relationship. I do agree with Jenna that there were some parts that were a tad cringy and was not a fan of ALL the pop culture references but who cares cause I love Abby Jimenez.

Thanks netgalley for the arc!

4.5 STARS | What can I say about Abby Jimenez and her books that hasn’t already been said? She has earned and deserves every bit of the success she has achieved, and I’m thrilled to have been reading her books from the very beginning! SAY YOU’LL REMEMBER ME was just what I’ve come to expect when I pick up one of her books: a memorable furry sidekick, sparkling dialogue, at least one zany situation, and an emotional through-line that grounds the whole thing in reality. Even when the romance has a hint of instalove to it, she surrounds the couple with realistic challenges that help you become immediately invested in how they’ll face them. I think one of Abby’s strengths is how fleshed out and developed every character becomes, even the secondary ones that don’t have a huge role on the page.

This felt like Abby’s most serious book, which is echoed in her Author’s Note at the beginning. The depiction of dementia and the role (and toll) of being a caregiver to someone with it was incredibly emotional. I had some issues with the way certain things were handled but it was more personal frustration/disagreement than actual criticism.

Once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. It’s not my favorite from Jimenez but still stands out as a memorable, moving romance that will linger in my mind long after I closed the book.

Abby Jimenez is one of those authors who can just sweep me away by just her writing style, but 'Say You'll Remember Me' fell short in so many ways. I would be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy it, because there were times and scenes that I enjoyed—but all of them were before the 50% mark, when I was actually invested in the story, rooting for the characters, and enjoying it. But as the story moved forward, the erratic decisions, the constant conflicts thrown, and the decisions made and supported in this book frustrated me to no avail.
