This story explores life’s ups and downs, showing that life is what you make it.
It includes a severe case of dementia, estrangement between parents and son, and the dynamics that accompany the families dealing with these issues.
I like that these situations seem real. Nothing is buttered up, and the characters deal with what life throws their way the best they can.
It shows life can and does hurt sometimes, but it can also bring genuine happiness. It gives, and it takes.
This shows the raw emotion and grit that serious situations bring to life while also showing the love between characters.
Well-written, heartfelt, and life-like, Say You’ll Remember Me is a book I will remember.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing this ebook for me to read and review.

Abby Jimenez is always a must read for me. I recommend her to anyone looking for a contemporary romance with a little meat on the bones. Her books will make you laugh, cry and yearn for that special someone you've been seeking to find. Xavier and Samantha will make you feel those things over and over until you reach the ending.of this special book.

Thank you NetGalley Forever Grad Central Publishing for a early copy of my appreciation read of 2025 and it didn’t disappoint I enjoy the romance between Xavier and Samantha so much better then Just For The Summer Xavier and Samantha are two characters who had the perfect date of there life to realize they relationship had to be long distance. It so cute easy to read if you love Abby Jimenez books this is no different. But nothing tops Part Of Your World

Oh Abby, you’ve done it again!!! Admittedly this had a slow start for me. I don’t normally vibe with insta-love but I realized this was more “when you know you know” and I was hooked. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much from Abby’s writing (which is saying a lot because she always makes me cry) but this book felt so relatable and honestly hopeless at points. My heart ached with every page but this may be one of her best. Also Xavier is now one of my top-tier book boyfriends.
I am so unbelievably grateful to Netgalley and Forever for the arc. I can’t wait for this to come out so I can read it all over again!

Say You’ll Remember Me has adorable rescue pets, a sunset cruise, an escape room... and that was all on the first date! It's an emotional, long-distance love story with sweet leads, humor and family drama that felt very real and a little exhausting at times. I laughed, I cried and am very glad I got the chance to experience it all.
Samantha meets Dr. Xavier Rush, a veterinarian, when she takes her kitten in for a check-up only to find out the kitten is missing a butthole. (I am not making this up. It's called atresia and it can happen to cats and dogs.) Xavier tells her the surgery would cost $10,000 and he recommends putting her kitten down so she wouldn’t be in pain. Instead, Samantha starts a GoFundMe and quickly raises the money for the surgery. She was surprised and happy when she notices that Xavier also donated - he is the best!
Samantha’s family needs her help to care for her mother who has dementia. Samantha works remotely doing social media for a mustard company and can live anywhere so she makes plans to move back home to California to help her family, who she’s very close to. She needs a health certificate for her kitten so she goes to see Xavier. She’s admiring his hotness when he surprises her and asks her out. But they only have one night because she is leaving the next morning for California - they end up having an epic, perfect date together! They go on a sunset animal adoption cruise (with cute pets) on Lake Minnetonka and then go on to an escape room – it's an incredible night.
When Samantha gets to California, she finds out her mother’s dementia has progressed farther along than Samantha had realized. Her family lives with her grandmother who helps care for her mom along with her dad, her hilarious and Yoda-like brother, and her sister who lives there with her two boys. Her mother has been wandering off and they have to watch her constantly. (They decide they aren’t ready to put her in memory care yet and I appreciated the way Jimenez handled this difficult topic.)
Xavier works long hours at his veterinarian practice and is serious and a little grumpy. He’s hardworking and he always does the right thing - when he’s not at his practice, he’s doing volunteer work for animal adoptions. His parents were harsh and abusive and said they didn’t think he would amount to anything and he tries not to have contact with them – they are really nasty. He keeps thinking about Samantha and how much fun they had and wants to see her again.
They start a long-distance relationship, texting, talking and visiting each other when they can. They wonder how they can have anything permanent if her family needs her in California and he needs to be at his vet practice in Minnesota (that he borrowed heavily for). The couple has to deal with some hard things but it's so well done here--I love Jimenez’s humor and her gentle way of handling tough topics.
The hardest parts were all of the obstacles they had to overcome in the story - the issues they faced felt very real. I was emotionally wrung out by the time I got to the end and I wished some of the resolution had come a little sooner. The bright spot was the humor and the love Samantha and Xavier had for each other. I especially loved when Samantha started writing the bios for the pets up for adoption – they were hilarious.
Abby Jimenez has done it again and given us a beautiful and meaningful story with loving leads and their rescue pets. While it covers some difficult topics, they are handled with care and kindness and I’ll be thinking about this story long after finishing it.

Did I swoon? Yes. Did I love the characters? Yes. Was this a lovely lovely lovely read? Yes absolutely! I highly encourage romance readers to pick this book up asap and give this story all of your attention.
Buttttttttt this didn’t quite reach 5 stars for me. I felt such sadness for our MCs being separated and it truly felt as through they were living two different lives. This also translated to me feeling like I was reading two stories. Connected stories, yes, but two stories nonetheless. When it came to the ending, I felt like I really only got a joyful epilogue for one of the said stories. I was left wanting for the other. We spend so much of the book with our characters apart that I felt I was missing their ending. This was truly a long distance tale and it felt it.
But of course, the book was still very enjoyable and I highly recommend it, I just wish we could’ve gotten a little more at the end.
Thank you to the publisher for the gifted ARC

Ohhhh I am such a sucker for romance books that keep me laughing and falling in love with the characters simultaneously. This book was everything!! I loved Samantha and Xavier. Their story was one of true love. They were each other's light in the darkest times and the ending to this was PERFECT!! I almost cried at the end (happy tears). Beautifully done and phenomenal writing from start to end.
Abby is possibly one of my new favorite authors! I will definitely be reading all of her other books that I haven't yet in the near future. The writing style and emotion she portrayed behind this story were incredible. The story flowed flawlessly, and I devoured it in two days! It would have been much sooner if life hadn't gotten in the way. Thank you, Net Galley, for the gifted ARC! Pick this up! You won't regret it.

I’m an auto-reader of all things Abby Jimenez. She is one of the writers who brought me back to the romance genre.
Ironically, my enjoyment of this one wasn’t entirely due to the love story.
I particularly appreciate how she writes familial characters. There’s such warmth and realness to the dialogue and personality descriptions. It makes you understand their actions, good or bad.
While I do appreciate the romance of it all - in this case, an instant love - it was the relationship with her family, especially her mom, that got me.
To me, loyalty is super romantic, and this book oozes that in multiple ways.
As for the lovey-dovey romance, I like that even though most of the male leads she writes seem like grumps, ultimately, they are good guys. After decades of consuming bad-boy love stories, it’s refreshing to root for a relationship that appears emotionally healthy.

Abby pulls at my heartstrings with every single book she writes. This was no exception. It was emotional at times but also made me laugh endlessly. Truly Abby is the queen of blending serious moments with the lighthearted ones. This book I felt had more heaviness in it than lightheartedness. But wasn’t written in a way that it destroyed you. It just made you feel what those characters were feeling to where you could get a sense of their reality. And this book teaches you to appreciate the people around you and is a good reminder to hold onto love and create as many memories as possible with your loved ones. I really enjoyed this book.

Thank you so much to Forever for an advanced copy of Say You'll Remember Me. I LOVED this book.
I usually go into the new Abby Jimenez book blind because she is an auto-read author for me...boy was I pleasantly surprised by the characters in this one. Her books just get better with each one (and they are all pretty amazing to begin with!). This one is particularly special to me, and I just could not put it down once I started reading it. This one has some really emotional elements to it, and I do not recommend starting this one on a plane (like I did) unless you want the other passengers to see you shed a few tears!
I do not have the words to describe how good this book was. I can only say you will want to buy it, read it, and love it forever.

4.5/5
I would like to thank NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I want to start off with the fact that I absolutely LOVE Abby Jimenez and her work. She does an amazing job at incorporating real life issues into her books and represents these issues accurately. I loved the romance between Samantha and Xavier and how they navigated the difficulties in their LDR. This book made me cry at the end and it was written amazingly. When I first received the ARC I think I read 35% in the first day, after that I slowed down and kinda just took my time. Every part of it was intriguing and written beautifully down to the playlist that’s included in the end. The dual pov is my favorite and honestly this book was nearly perfect. My only critique is that they got married literally after a year of dating. It felt a little unrealistic and cheap but it was cute either way!

I really enjoyed Say You’ll Remember Me! Jimenez’s portrayal of early onset dementia was both painful and authentic. I found myself really attached to the main female character by the end of the book. You can really feel her frustration and sense of grief throughout the book, however it remains at its core an uplifting love story. I liked that the ending, while happy, is not without its issues. It felt very real and refreshing. Bonus points for the bitchy brother- he was a lot of fun. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc.

Another absolutely perfect romcom from Abby Jimenez. I laughed; I sobbed (more than once); and I loved every.single.second. of this book.

5/5 stars
Trigger Warnings: Graphic: Dementia, Animal cruelty, Grief
Moderate: Death, Child abuse, Emotional abuse
This book is an emotional rollercoaster! I laughed out loud, cried and it left me wanting to hug this book. Say You'll Remember Me is definitely heavier than her other books but I thinks she writes it with such grace, humor and with authentic characters. Xavier and Samantha are such a sweet couple and I would love a scene from 5 years down the road to see what they are up to.
I underlined so many sections in this book! So many quotes that make me excited to reread this book and annotate it. To say this book will leave me with a book hangover is an understatement. I don't know what I can possibly read next that will compare.
I loved Xavier's friend group, Samantha's family and Xavier's co-workers. The side characters, setting and all the animals made this book even better.
Even though I rated this book 5 stars, there are a few things that were hard for me to get over. The part where they don't communicate who is traveling and miss each other and sometimes they were 'woe is me' too much and it was hard to read. BUT...I still loved this book as a whole and will definitely be rereading it!!

It pains me to rate this book three stars. Abby Jimenez is one of my all-time favorite authors, but this book did not hit the mark for me.
Don't get me wrong, there were many things that I liked about this book - I loved the relatability of our main characters Xavier and Samantha. Certain scenes were so relatable and reminded me of my relationship with my boyfriend, specifically the arcade and escape room scenes. Abby has such a talent of writing realistic characters, and this was no exception. I also love how bingeable her books are. Even though this book wasn't my favorite of hers, it was so easy to digest that I read it within 24 hours.
However, there were many things that did not work for me. The main aspect that turned me off from this book was the fact that Xavier and Samantha pitied themselves and their situation SO much. Our two main characters are in a long distance relationship due to Xavier's job and Samantha's home/family life. Their inner dialogue about their situation was hard to read at times because it felt so "woe is me".
The pacing felt off because the long distance relationship. It seemed like I was in a repetitive loop of reading one chapter when they travel to see the other, another chapter when they are apart and missing each other, and then the next chapter would begin with "three months later..." when they traveled to see each other again. There were several times in which the chapters started with "(Long duration) later" that the timeline felt very jumpy and fast-forwarded.
The last thing that didn't sit right with me was certain terminology that was used. There were two separate occasions in which Samantha screamed, "STAP!" instead of "stop". This may seem nitpicky, but it just seemed too immature for an adult-aged character. There were also several mentions of Tiktok that it almost felt forced. I usually love the comedic scenes that Abby creates, but in this case they made me cringe. Like when Samantha went to take a pill and fully swallowed and digested her Airpod by accident instead? And didn't realize it until the next morning? So out of left field.
Maybe I am being a harsh critic because I have adored all of Abby's other books (Just for the Summer was my top read of 2024!), but I was left wanting more with this one.
(SPOILER): I was not satisfied by the ending ... Xavier and Samantha went through all of that misery, turmoil, and back and forth only for Xavier to change his mind about wanting to keep his job? I was hoping for a cleaner resolution than that.

I love that I can continue to count on Abby Jimenez for a great story. She has this ability to write books that suck you in immediately and don’t let you go until the last page. Her books are instant slump-busters for me! This most recent novel is no different. Abby writes such sweet and beautiful relationships, but also weaves in the heartbreak of reality. Xavier and Samantha’s story had me kicking my feet and grinning from the adorable chemistry the two had. Both characters have such complex family dynamics and their ability to navigate them together was so heartwarming. My husband is an “airport dad”, and I can attest to how nice it is to have someone you can shut your brain off around! The heartwarming moments in this book made me tear up more than once, proving that I can still feel things! Yay!
With Samantha’s job being internet based, there are a lot of social media references. These instances, and the references to TikTok trends or phrases, did take me out of the story a little. I can’t speculate if these references will become outdated quickly, or if the cringe factor will increase as the years go by. So just read it now and enjoy!

I’ll read anything Abby’s name is on. And this one did not disappoint. In fact, it may be my favourite yet (except I LOVE Yours Truly too much soooo it’s a toss up). I laughed, I cried, I will shout about this one to whoever will listen for the rest of forever. Perfect for my New Romantics Book Club!

In true Abby Jimenez fashion, her upcoming release is a sweet romance filled with humor and heart and plenty of cute dogs. This book centers around our two MCs, Samantha and Xavier, who have a not so meet-cute when Samantha takes her cat into Xavier’s vet clinic. Eventually they reconnect, sparks fly after a magical first date, but then due to family circumstances, Samantha has to move back to California while Xavier is stuck in Minnesota running his clinic.
Now, there were things I really enjoyed about this and things that also didn’t quite work for me. For starters, I usually adore Abby’s books because of the romance, but for some reason the romance wasn’t my favorite part. I liked our characters enough individually, however I think I struggled to really see and understand their connection. It all transpired so quickly and then suddenly they’re flying half way across the country for visits and establish a long distance relationship. Perhaps I’m just a grouch, but I think I just didn’t buy into their love enough to justify the actions.
The part that stood out to me though was the plot surrounding home caregiving of a loved one and the ripple affects it can have. Samantha’s mother is suffering from late stage dementia I appreciated the author’s depiction of the cruel disease even though it’s super heartbreaking. I liked seeing how each family member grappled with the situation in their own way, but also seeing how much of a burden and exhausting it can be. It showed how no family may be perfect, but the importance of being a strong unit. I personally felt like the most emotional and poignant moments were when it came to Samantha’s mother and family.
I also appreciated Xavier’s character journey and discussing how and why he got into being a vet and the reasons he has and continues to fight so hard to prove himself. There were also some lovely supporting characters too!
While this may not have been my favorite Abby Jimenez, I still enjoyed it and definitely think that fans of her work will also still like it when it releases!

Leave it to Abby Jimenez to have me laughing so hard at one moment, only to be crying a few pages later. I think this is my favorite of Abby’s books yet.
“Say You’ll Remember Me” was truly so beautiful, and heartbreaking, and hilariously filled with banter that brought these characters to life. The way the story explored the different forms of love we experience in our lives, from pets to family and found family, to soulmate romance set this apart from anything else I’ve read in a while. There was so much depth in creating the moments we want to remember while we still can, and finding what is truly important. This story broke my heart, and then stitched it back together again. I think at the end my main takeaway was that sometimes humans are horrible creatures to each other - but that we can’t forget all of the beautiful humans that refuse to allow that to stop them from loving each other imperfectly, but loudly in spite of it all.
Thank you so much to the publisher for kindly sharing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
