Abby Jimenez has once again blown me away with this one! I started reading Abby this year when I was shut in at home after a minor surgery. I loved her writing so much that I instantly knew I needed to read everything she had written! So when I saw this book on NetGalley, I requested an arc expeditiously 😂.
I think this might be my favorite book by Abby so far! I loved the two main characters and their hilarious banter. The balance between heartbreaking and humorous moments in this book is perfect, and this book deals with some major themes. I sometimes notice serious illnesses like dementia in rom-coms get glazed over or sugar-coated, Abby didn’t do that. While there are lots of funny and cute rom-com moments, there are also some real tear-jerking and raw moments. And that’s what I love about this book the most. I also really liked how Abby wrote about the hardships of long-distance relationships.
Also, the title references a Taylor Swift song?! I wouldn’t be a true Swiftie if I didn’t mention that. 😂
5 out of 5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
*I received this book as an arc in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.
I love Abby Jimenez and her lighthearted romantic comedy novels. This book takes on a more emotional story, with (trigger warning) the main character's mother suffering from dementia. Samantha and Xavier, a handsome veterinarian, meet-cute and have a great first date, but then Samantha needs to take time to care for her mother. They are separated and each dealing with their own issues (more trigger warnings for abuse and death).
I love the humor and banter that Jimenez writes, and I loved the characters as they went through these journeys together. The only thing I'll knock a star off for is, that the pacing felt slow in the middle. We get it, they are separated and can't be together...it just dragged on a bit with no catalyst to bring them together, which then it really quick does at the very end.

*Say You’ll Remember Me* by Abby Jimenez is a heartfelt romance that blends humor, emotion, and the complexities of personal growth. The story follows two characters, a troubled young man with a past and a determined young woman with her own set of challenges, as they navigate their connection amid family, expectations, and their own insecurities. Jimenez's writing captures both the lighthearted and poignant moments of their journey, making for an engaging and satisfying read. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and while the plot touches on familiar tropes, Jimenez adds enough emotional depth and warmth to make it a memorable, feel-good story.

This was pretty good. I thought the story was cute and really liked the romance. The pacing felt off a little bit so that is why I gave it 4 stars.

abby jimenez does it again! 5 beautiful stars for this tearjerker 🥹 what a beautiful story about love ♥️
this book broke me and out me back together. such an honor to get to know sam & xavier 😌 but it was sooo much more than their love story, it was about family coming together and understanding each other too. it was a story that came full circle in the best way. and don’t worry, it was also soooo funny and had that abby banter that we all love ☺️
📖 meet cute, sweet animals, grumpy cinnamon roll x sunshine, complicated family, ufo escape room, mustard & jake from state farm 😂
thank you to forever & netgalley for this arc of say you’ll remember me! 🩵🩵🩵

Gulp, my heart. Another powerful, witty beautiful novel from Abby! This was emotional and has some trigger warnings of abuse. This was definitely roller coaster of emotions but also an easy read because of how well it flowed together.

Samantha is juggling a lot—caring for her mom, who has dementia, and losing a remote advertising job while really needing the money. You can really feel the weight of her responsibilities, but also the love that keeps her going. Then there’s Xavier, who’s dealing with a traumatic past and a lot of financial stress (he seems to have an independent vet practice). He had an abusive childhood, which makes it hard for him to trust others and feel like he’s enough. Watching him work through those struggles and open up made him feel so much more real and relatable than your usual romance hero.
What I appreciated most was how the romance between these two characters felt grounded in reality (as much as. a fiction/insta-love book can be). Their individual struggles didn’t just serve as backdrops; they actively influenced their relationship, forcing them to communicate, compromise, and support one another in meaningful ways. The giving was sometimes uneven, but it made some sense.
The author’s writing is both heartfelt and relatable, drawing readers into the highs and lows of the characters’ lives. The moments of joy, laughter, and love are made all the sweeter because they are set against such real challenges. If you’re looking for a romance novel that will make you cray at least three times, this is it. Highly recommend!

Abby Jimenez can do no wrong. We all know that she will write for us a heartwrenchingly, earnest romance that will sit with us for the rest of the year. We also know that she puts in the work. She researches with such care and I think that is why she is such an unmatched talent in the world of romance! This might be her best work yet.
5 stars

thank you to netgalley & forever publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this arc!
4.5/5 🌟
abby jimenez you’ve done it again <3
this book just felt like a warm hug. being from california and growing up in a hispanic household, reading this gave me such a nostalgic feel and it truly felt like i was watching a movie in my head (which is rare coming from someone who has a hard time imagining things while reading)! i flew through this one and when the ending came, i felt like i wanted 100 pages more of the story. while the ending did feel rushed, everything made sense and wrapped up in a beautiful way.
i cannot wait for everyone to be able to read this one!!

Abby can do no wrong. Loved the book. Great representation in this book. I love the character development.

I wasn’t ready for the emotional rollercoaster Abby delivered in this book, but wow, am I grateful for it. This is, hands down, her most raw and heart-wrenching story yet. It beautifully tackles complex family dynamics, the devastating reality of caring for a parent with dementia, and the overwhelming effort it takes to fight for love when everything seems determined to pull it apart. I felt every word in my soul—grief, love, and hope all wrapped together in Abby’s stunning writing.
Xavier and Samantha absolutely broke me. Their love was so fiercely perfect, yet life kept throwing obstacle after obstacle in their way. I ached for them, rooting for them so hard it hurt. And Samantha’s struggle with losing her mom piece by piece to dementia was written with such heartbreaking honesty that I couldn’t stop crying.
Abby has this rare gift of crafting flawed, real, and utterly unforgettable characters. I laughed, cried, screamed, and smiled through my tears. Xavier and Samantha's relationship stole my heart, but Hank? Every single scene he was in left me emotional—he’s easily one of my all-time favorite characters now.
This book left such a deep impression on me, and I know I’ll be thinking about it for a long time. If you haven’t read it yet, prepare to be swept up in a wave of emotions and let’s gush about it together afterward. Abby has truly outdone herself!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Abby Jimenez never misses! This one was packed full of heart, angst and humour. And her signature inclusion of quirky animals of course. Loved!

There are other Abby Jimenez books that I loved more as a whole but there aren’t any other two romantic leads that I love more or are more connected and meant to be than Samantha & Xavier. These two, I mean, my heart was aching for them the entire way through. The impossibility of their situations and the knowing of just how perfect it could be… it’s painfully good.
Of course, it’s also a little, understandably, frustrating. That’s the story. It’s meant to be hard. But it does start to mess with the flow and the pace because you just want to speed up and skip to the resolution. I found myself dragging my feet, putting off reading it, because I just wanted to be past it, despite loving it. Every time they come together it’s sweet, sometimes funny, and hopeful to balance the harsh realities they’re facing. There are so many emotions running through the story and it’s beautiful.
Overall, it’s exactly what I expected from an Abby Jimenez book but also new and entirely different. The arc is incredibly unique, bittersweet, and ultimately satisfying. Highly recommend.

Say You'll Remember Me is absolutely fantastic! Abby does it again with a profound love story! A love story not only between Samantha and Xavier, but also a family love story. The love that is shown when life is really, really hard. There are some sensitive topics and triggers in the book, but they were handled with great care. In true Abby fashion, I also burst out laughing at the whip smart humor and pet antics. Preorder this beauty now! You're going to love it!

The queen has did it again! Every time I read a book by her I think it can't get better than this and she proves us wrong. This is a new favorite by her. I smiled, I laughed, I sobbed, The characters are relatable and the setting was realistic. Highly recommend!

Samantha and Xavier had such a natural ease with one another. I was scared of the insta-love at first, but their banter and dynamic made it work. The comfort and safety they felt in each other's presence was jumping off the page. It physically hurt to read about them not being able to get to each other and trying to make long distance work.
I liked the side characters, including Xavier's friends, and the complicated family dynamics for both characters. Sam's family in particular resonated with me, and I liked seeing her relationship with her brother have its ups and downs. It was very interesting to learn more about Sam's mom's dementia and how it affected everyone around her. I will say, I felt that the plot line with Xavier's parents was a bit rushed and then quickly "resolved". I would've like to see mention of therapy, and Xavier actually working through that trauma instead of having one brief conversation about it and being over years of abuse.
Additionally, what I love most in Abby's books is how relatable and real the FMCs feel. While Samantha was great, the conflict didn't really have anything to do with *her* personally, It wasn't her own personal problems she was trying to work through. The conflict was external, outside of the two main characters, so it felt a bit empty compared to Abby's other books for me. The secondary plot of the dementia took up a lot of page time and again, it wasn't exactly a problem with Sam and Xavier so it was a bit much sometimes for a romance book. Lastly, some of the word choices and modern references felt out of place and a bit cringey at times. For example, the multiple instances of comparing Xavier to Rhysand from ACOTAR, Sam wanting to do a couples challenge from TikTok, the saying "It's giving", etc.
Overall, I really enjoyed it, just felt it was lacking in character depth and growth, and some of the writing was a bit off for me.

There is no author that can pen the magic to paper like Abby Jimenez. Her way of making you laugh out loud and cry is heartbreakingly beautiful. I can see pieces of myself in each character. This book gives you hope of real unrequited love.

Anyone who likes animals more than people, anyone who likes romance, anyone who likes the song "Come on Eileen," and of course anyone who likes Abby this is the book for you. As always Abby makes characters feel so relatable as they work through issues of their past and present. You root for the characters and laugh when they win, and cry when they take a loss. "Say You'll Remember Me" is more than just a romance, it is also a story of family and of individuals. We see how these characters use memories of loved ones and community in their current relationships and growing understanding of themselves.

Abby gets me sobbing, laughing and happy crying all in one book far too many damn times. Absolutely crushed it with this one! By far my favorite

Abby Jimenez has really blown me out of the water with her novels recently, and this one was no exception. I think this might be my favorite of hers. I wept, I laughed, and I swooned. Never have I loved a cast of characters in one of her books more. Samantha is hilarious and though the internet commentary definitely dates this title, I couldn't help but feel that Jimenez demonstrated a knowledge of online discourse and humor that didn't feel out of touch at all.
I might've cringed at the ACOTAR references and felt that the character descriptions were a little hazy at times, but the intense heart of this title really won me over as it progressed. The stakes felt so high for this couple and the central conflict was very authentically unavoidable. I was exhausted with them and so relieved at the resolution.
I truly can't wait for the other books in this series.
