Really beautiful mix of butterflies-inducing romance with Abby's trademark humor grounded by a wonderfully realistic, emotional portrayal of dementia and how it impacts family. It's heavy subject matter, but handled so well And my goodness, could Xavier be more caring and perfect? I think not.

I cried hysterically, and giggled repeatedly. Abby gets me. I am forever obsessed with her books. it is so good. I never skip and Abby book. Thank you Forever pub for the arc of this book. 🤌🏻

Another great Abby Jimenez. Perhaps my least favorite but still really really good! I love Xavier and Samantha and their mutual love of animals. I really enjoyed them together and Samantha's family. The ending just felt easier than Abby's other books, I guess? All in all, A+ And, as usual, Abby is at 100% for making me tear up in a romance!

Abby Jimenez knows how to write a romance with lovable, flawed characters and deep emotional issues told with empathy and compassion. Say You'll Remember Me will stay with me long after I finished it - it is definitely rememberable! I will be recommending it to all by friends and library customers.

I struggled with this one. As a long time Abbey fan, her recent releases feel very forceful and cringey to me. References to try and keep up with the Gen Z popularity isn’t flying with this millennial. This felt poorly written. I hope the “fucked back off to motherland” quote has been removed from the final version. The “he’ll always be a bigger bitch” also felt like a slap in the face and unnecessary to say about the brother. Maybe writing a book on your phone isn’t the best approach.

Like most of Abby Jimenez books, this one deals with some pretty heavy topics. I do very much appreciate her honest content warnings. This book was a punch to the gut, but it was also a pretty great romance! If the content warnings don't bother you, you will definitely love this book! I feel she has set up another series with some of the side characters. I hope there are more books with these characters!
Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

Another Abby Jimenez book to add to the collection! As a girlie who has read all of Abby Jimenez’s full length novels, I was soooo ready for this book. Finding out that it dealt with the topic of a family member who has dementia too…I knew it was going to be an emotional ride for me - and it was! As with most of Abby’s books, this one made me laugh out loud and shed a tear at times too.
I could relate to the part of the story about Sam’s mom, Lisa, which made it tough to read at times, but added so much depth to Sam’s part of the story. I also really liked the beginnings of Sam and Xavier’s story, which is surprising cause I’m not usually a huge fan of insta love. For some reason though, the very beginning of their relationship had me giddy! Their whole first date and the escape room scene (iykyk) were some of my favourite parts in the book, honestly! I almost wish we got more of this vibe throughout the rest of the story too.
The storyline did feel like it got repetitive at times. We got a lot of inner dialogue from both Sam and Xavier and how hard it was on them to be in a long distance relationship. It gave us some good insight at how they both felt at first, but after reading about it again and again, it became very repetitive which took me out of the book a little bit.
All of that said though, this book was very beautifully written. There were so many quotes that felt highly relatable and one liners that made me emotional on their own. The ending really got me in my feels too! 🥺

Samantha was JUST going on a date! Assuming that it’ll be a night of fun and nothing more - one last hoorah before she move out of town to help take care of her mom who has dementia. Enter Xavier, a man who can admit he made a mistake & chooses to make it up to Samantha by taking her out for the night. This date was one that neither of them wanted to end & didn’t see coming - and what follows is a tug at the heart strings!
Filled with classic Abby Jimenez humor, witty one liners, emotional depth and an exploration into some challenging, but all too common realities; Say You’ll Remember Me checks all of the boxes! In true Abby form I found myself giggling one minute & contemplating a quote the next - which is my kind of book, if I’m honest!
What held me back from giving it a full 5⭐️ was a few moments of “rinse & repeat” that I found while reading this book. Not a deal breaker, but something that caused me to adjust my review accordingly.
It appears as though Abby is continuing to grow as an author - exploring more pertinent themes and challenging topics, with grace & due-diligence. The authentic characters find themselves experiencing the curveballs that life can bring, alongside an examination of the push and pull of caring for a family member with a degenerative disease. I truly appreciated the fact that the complexities that came from the care provided to Samantha’s mom, and the implications it had on all family members was not glossed over or looked at as something with an “easy” solution. Rather you get it all in this book, the good, the bad & the ugly.

I'm going to preface this withe I'm an Abby Jimenez fan, however, this book didn't hit like I thought it was going to. Traditionally, Abby writes books that hit me in my chest and make me sit and reflect on my relationships. This book made me want to burn my copies of ACOTAR and reread my copy of Yours Truly to remind myself that I loved Abby's books prior to reading this.
Almost immediately the Rhysand references were too much for me. I know this is a popular series & I love ACOTAR as much as the next person...but my god it was so frequent it was frustrating. We get it, the MMC is hot, there are other ways to describe a tall man with dark hair. Tying this into pop culture, the language used in this book was frustrating. "If you were in a book, you'd be an alpha male" or "my toxic trait is that I can change him" like ...what are we trying to do here? I know a lot of people (including myself) tend to use reading as an escape and this was NAWTTT it. It came across as trying too hard to be relevant and just made me want to stop reading.
The family drama aspect of this novel was very much like a soap opera. In all sense of the phrase. We were introduced to our main characters in chapter one. By chapter 3/4 they were in a relationship. Is this not insta-love like a soap opera? Xavier kept doing things like being the knight in shining armor...but it was tired. Why? Why is he doing all of that for someone he barely knows. Like don't get me wrong I'm as helpful as can be but I'm not going to put myself into debt and work 80 hours a week for someone who isn't going to make a MILD sacrifice for me. Samantha felt like a side character in her own book and when she was present she didn't leave a lasting impression.
I'm not going to swear off Abby Jimenez books because I do think she is an amazing writer- I just think this was a bad book. I didn't enjoy it, it was tough to get through, and it's just a miss. I'm definitely going to be finding comfort in Abby's other titles for the time being.
Thank you Forever for the advanced reading copy! All opinions are my own.

Heavy, heartfelt, trauma informed romance. Abby can do no wrong. I love that she challenges me as a reader. I will read everything she puts out instantly and I will love it.

I’ve been a big fan of Abby Jiminez since book one but this one was a miss for me. After last year’s, I tried to manage my own expectations and come in expecting contemporary fiction with a side of romance instead of romance - but even with those managed expectations, this fell flat. I enjoyed the first date and initial setup but then it fell flat for me and I was bored. Ultimately decided to dnf. Thank you Forever for the free ebook to review.

It’s no secret that Abby Jimenez is a #bookstagram & #booktok fav, and having read most of her books, I can completely agree with the hype!
Content warnings: no animals die! But there is animal abuse, dementia, unexpected death, and child abuse/neglect.
Synopsis:
There might be no such a thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediately yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong…
Unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake. But after one incredible and seemingly endless date—possibly the best in living history—Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that her family is in crisis and any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be.
No amount of distance or time is nearly enough to forget that something between them. And the only thing better than one single perfect memory is to make a life—and even a love—worth remembering.
What I liked:
-I love how Abby writes. Not sure what it is exactly, but I’m always sucked into these characters worlds. Her books never fail to make me laugh, cry, feel love and loss.
-The romance in these books is always top notch in my opinion! The way she writes their banter and chemistry is so good.
What I don’t like:
-I felt like the character introductions were not done well. I felt like there was a lot of emphasis on pop culture and it felt like ‘relatability’ was being shoved down my throat. Comparing Xavier to Rhys from ACOTAR? Not every book character can be from ACOTAR. It’s getting old now, let’s move on.
-I also felt like Xavier is supposed to be this brooding grumpy guy, but he really only has one grumpy scene?

Abby Jimenez is back with another emotional romance, complete with swoony characters, emotional family dynamics, and funny situations. When a grumpy vet and a social marketing influencer meet sparks fly- and not in a good way. But when neither can stop thinking about the other they end up on one perfect date. The only problem? They're soon to be living thousands of miles from each other. Can (and should) they try to make things work?
I'm going to be honest. While I genuinely enjoyed this book, I don't think it's Jimenez' best work. It's VERY insta-love. And while the characters are near 30 years old there is a lot of ACoTaR talk and "STAP" while makes the entire book feel closer to YA. The characters are still great, and the more serious parts of the plot are handled really well... it just felt very young to me.

I love Abby Jimenez and I'm sure I would love this book, but unfortunately I can't finish it. This is not a fault of the author, she clearly states one of the triggers is dementia and caretaking for those who have dementia, but I didn't realize the extent to which is would be represented. I'm currently a caretaker for someone with alzheimer's and unfortunately I just can't read this right not. It's too hard and it's too triggering and I can't do it. Maybe one day I'll learn how this ends, but if you in any way are caretaking for someone with this disease, just know I found this very triggering. Again, in no way is this the author's fault. I love her books. I just can't read this one.

This is hands down, without a doubt, my favorite Abby Jiminez book yet. I've always admired how deftly she blends her signature rom com type of humor with emotional and potentially heavy themes, but this one took that to a new level for me.
This book felt so deeply romantic to me, driven by the external angst keeping them apart, and the emotional and devastating things going on in their own lives. I loved seeing how they continuously fought to be together and never once stopped believing that they would one day get their happily ever after.
For me, I love seeing heavy themes like grief and trauma included IF the author can work it into the romance in a way that doesn't feel forced and which always results in the couple choosing each other, even when life feels like it will break you.
I loved every part of this book, well I could maybe do without the ACOTAR references and chronically online bits but other than that it was perfection to me. 6 stars, and my new favorite from this author.
CW: dementia, grief, animal abuse (not graphi and no animals die in this book)

A beautiful mix of romance and real life issues. Laugh, cried, all the emotions..
TW: dementia, abusive parents, death of a family member, animal abuse

Abby Jimenez is the queen of romance. I know so people call these rom-coms but I truly would just call these emotional romances with some levity and laughing moments. But the hearts and the feels always stand out to me more.
This was another good one but it isn't my favorite. Still VERY good but just something about the story didn't vibe with me. I just couldn't relate and it felt like there was a bit of some repeat . Which did set up the conflict and my heart did hurt for them!
Please don't take my personal preference as a big issue. It was still very good!

Well in true Abby Jimenez fashion, this one pulls at your heartstrings.

Say You’ll Remember Me definitely had heavy themes but Jimenez perfectly balances the romance, the struggles, and the joy in this story.
.
I was not only rooting for Sam and Xavier but for Samantha’s entire family. I enjoyed the family representation in this one just as much as the romance.

Thank you to netgalley and Piatkus for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I just love Abby's stories, I think this is one of her best yet. Emotional but funny, this was such a sweet romance!

In Say You’ll Remember Me, Xavier Rush is a handsome veterinarian who falls hard for the spitfire Samantha Diaz on their epic first date. The problem? Samantha is moving thousands of miles away to live with her family and help care for her mother, who has dementia. She just wants Xavier to forget her, but he can’t.
This is a very heavy, yet very realistic, romance book. At times, the couple’s story feels almost too much to bear, but then you realize, as a reader, that such is the nature of true love. One minute, it’s laughing in an escape room; the next, it’s tragedy, trauma, and struggles like job loss, debt, and family drama. True love like this sees color in the darkness. For this reason, Xavier and Samantha are one of the most memorable couples about who I’ve read.
