Rebecca Harris addressed a timely problem at the writing of her book. Princess culture and gender stereotyping have been a bane on little girls in the US and other parts of the world. However, she followed along in the footsteps of several authors who had already written books on the subject and did so better. I don't think The Princess Problem added to the genre.

As the mother of a (formerly princess obsessed!) daughter, this book was an amazing read to show moms like me...we're not alone! The good news: It gets better! Princesses are forever. Thank GOD.

My library has Cinderella ate my daughter : dispatches from the front lines of the new girlie-girl culture / Peggy Orenstein and this book won't add more to our collection than that.
