Zoe and Cassie are sisters but different in almost every way. Zoe is pretty and outgoing and social and Cassie is overweight and timid, almost a recluse. Interestingly, they end up in a band together, where Cassie shines because of her superb and innate musical talent. We know that the bank breaks up, and the dual timeline moves from the 2000s to the current day, and the sisters are estranged. Why? The story unfolds as Zoe's daughter Cherry, who seems to have inherited Cassie's musical gift, explores a career in music herself. This is a story about sisterhood, jealousy, fame, and forgiveness. It is another well-told story by Jennifer Weiner and I highly recommend it!

I new to reviewing and still finding my way,, but I always enjoy Jennifer Weiner's books and this was no exception!!

I enjoyed this book. Overall a great concept and very interesting. I struggled to really get into this book until the second half, it really dragged on in some parts. This book gave strong Daisy Jones and the Six vibes. I am a big Jennifer Weiner fan but this wasn’t my favorite book of hers. I found Zoe to be infuriating, she did have some character development but I really struggled to read her POVs.

I’m a big fan of Jennifer Weiner and her latest might be my favorite! The Griffin Sisters is fun and completely engaging.! Loved the characters and how the story developed through the chapters. High recommend for some nostalgia and present day music.
Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange of an honest review.

I was disappointed when there was no Jennifer Weiner book on the shelves for the summer of 2024. However, this book is worth waiting for. it is another five star Jennifer Weiner book! Jennifer is the master of the "fat girl story." The fat girl, Cassie, is cursed with a beautiful, popular sister. However, Cassie is a breath-taking singer and pianist. But, is talent enough? Can a fat girl capture the attention of an audience? Can fans look beyond her appearance and get lost in the magic of her music? Can the fat girl really capture the heart of a handsome guy?Readers walk away with reassurance that it's what's inside that counts. A very satisfying ending.

Jennifer Weiner has done it again! Love this book. love the characters and love the setting. A touch of nostalgia and a touch of present day. Great book to start and finish in a weekend!

This is another winner from Jennifer Weiner. "The Griffin Sister's Greatest Hits" is a family story told from three points of view. The sisters, pretty, popular, and ambitious Zoe, and musically gifted Cassie who is also neurodivergent and shamed into believeing herself unlovely and unloveable, discover the price of fame. The family disfunction and lies carry on to Cherry, Zoe's daughter, who wants to make her way in the music industry also. The storyline and characters are engaging and will appeal to many readers.

I couldn’t get into this book. I’m not sure big into music and bands but thought I would give it a shot. Way too much focus on Cassie and her being fat. Disturbing that the mother never cared for Cassie as well. Just didn’t connect with it is any of the characters.

The Griffin Sister's Greatest Hits is a story of 2 sisters, their rise to fame and what happens after that. The story is told by 3 different characters; the 2 sisters and one of their daughters. It also goes back and forth in time. Interesting story of what can happen when fame goes to one's head. I really enjoyed this story and wanted to keep reading to see how it all plays out. It's a fast read and easy to keep all the characters straight.

Loved this. Solid plot. Strong character development. Wonderfully atmospheric. Pretty compulsive read. She’s a favorite author of mine and adored this new book from her.

Jennifer Weiner never disappoints. This is a great book especially for someone in her mid-forties who grew up in the pop princess era. This book highlight the high cost of fame along with the importance of family. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I absolutely adored the last book by Jennifer Weiner so I was thrilled to read this book. The subject matter was right up my alley. I found the constant fat shaming of the autistic character to be way over the top. It was simply too much. The focus wasn’t only on her weight but also on how ugly she was. Over and over and over again. I understand this takes place in a period of American history where fat shaming was the norm, but it could have been conveyed in other ways. That said, I did enjoy the story and learning about what happened to The Griffin Sisters.

I loved loved loved this book! It is Daisy Jones, but better. I almost read the whole thing in one sitting as I got so drawn into the story of sisterhood, fame, and a love triangle. The characters are amazing, and I loved the dynamic between Cassie and her sister. This would make an amazing movie or television series!

This is super readable and kept me invested but something is missing. At times it reminded me of Daisy Jones, but being set in the 2000s was cringy at times. I just couldn't see this band fitting in during this time period. I enjoyed but not up to the level of previous books by this author. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you for this ARC! I read every one of Weiner's books. Over the years the plots have gotten more ambitious, and, as a result, sillier. There were several unbelievable aspects of this book, but it did not take away from my overall enjoyment. It was a quick read and a nice distraction during a stressful time.

WOW I loved this. As a 90s baby, this was so nostalgic for me! A great sister story/family drama full of all the 90s/2000s pop vibes (TRL, MTV etc) - elevated brain candy. I flew through this one and thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved this book! It gave some Daisy Jones vibes, but with some mystery built in too! The dual timelines kept me guessing, and I loved the character development! It is interesting how my feelings toward several of the characters changed throughout the book, especially Zoe. I wanted this book to last because I enjoyed it so much, and ended up reading it in one day! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I've been in a book drought for over a month and this story was everything I needed. This is a story about the rise and fall of two musical sisters at the height of the TRL phenomena and the sequence of events that that follows, impacting the rest of their lives.
This story hits on so many themes, friendship, sisterhood, young love and mostly how someone can want something so much, how they can chase something so false and hollow that it will cause them to destroy everything around them. It touches on the deep insecurities that we all feel at times and the extreme lengths we will go to, to protect ourselves and insulate ourselves from feeling.
Ultimately, it's about hope and maybe healing, showing that there can be a path forward and how we can atone for, rather than repeat the sins of the past.
While this story is nostalgic and richly detailed, there's so much more. Pick it up, you'll be immediately invested in these sisters and will burn through it to see how it ends for them.

Sisterhood can be messy. Cassie and Zoe are like night and day. Cassie is a gifted musician who'd rather be behind the scenes. and Zoe is a natural born entertainer who wants fame, badly. They become a duo and strike it big for a short period of time and then their group dissolves and no one knows why. Flash forward to the present day Zoe's daughter wants fame too, and she wants to know why her mom and aunt no longer speak. Chapter by chapter we get to see the unraveling of the sister's relationship and their career.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel but I wish I had looked at the trigger warning beforehand. There is a lot of discussion around body dysphoria.
