3.75⭐ This was an entertaining listen! I think this is a right book wrong time situation - but I couldn't connect with the characters. It does end on a cliffhanger thought & I will be reading book 2. Posted on GR and storygraph

Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC!

This was my first book by Bromberg but I’ve heard great things about her other books so I was looking forward to this one. There was a lot of potential and the premise of the story grabbed my attention. Unfortunately that’s all the worked for me. The characters weren’t very likable and I didn’t love the narration either. I’m bummed this was a miss for me.

Loved the narrators!
Great start to new series. I was sucked in from the first chapter. I was so not prepared for that ending! I need the next book asap!

Loved Rowan and Holden’s characters. Rowan is trying to take her role at the company the way she fits, not the way her parents want her to. They want her to dress and act a certain way. Holden is looking for revenge and will do what he needs to do to get it. These two have great banter and the romance and chemistry between them is amazing. They are so good together.

Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for the next book.

Happy Release to Twisted Knight!

I've loved all of the racing romances K has written, so when I saw she was writing a non-sportsy book I was excited to see what it would be like! An enemies to lovers workplace revenge romance?! GIMME!

The backstory for Holden had me gripped (and very sad at times) and was so interesting to see how it tied into the current story. I loved learning why he was seeking revenge (and on who) and it was a wild ride! I wanted so much strength for Rowan and hate how horribly her family (other than her nan) treat her - yes I want to face kick her brother. How kind of a person she is is really highlighted by all the trash ways she is treated.

The cliffy for this book has me super curious about how this trilogy will continue! I'm sure were gonna get sooo much more conflict and dram in book two, whereas this book was a lot of information and set up

I wasn't the biggest fan of the audiobook narrators at times, and probably would have liked this book more if I eyeball read it. Holden's narrator (Patrick Zeller), was nice, but once he started adding emotion and other character voices to the narration I got a bit turned off. I enjoyed Rowan's narrator (Victoria Connolly)

Final Rating: 3.75 ⭐, 3🌶️

Thank you Valentine PR, NetGalley and K. Bromberg for granting me an ALC & eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

What a fun and intriguing new world from K. Bromberg. It’s got revenge and bit of mystery, so much tension, an epic enemies to lovers chemistry, and plenty of spice!

The deliciously mercurial Holden Knight has returned with revenge in mind. This former outsider is now rich and powerful, and his nefarious plan includes buying a struggling business of his rivals to help take down the family that wronged him. What he doesn't foresee is Rowan Rothschild- member of said family he wants to take down. But Rowan is not quite what he expects- and she herself is a bit of an outsider in her own family. But she wants her family business- and is not ready to let it be destroyed by the machinations of men, first her brother’s idiocy and now Holden. Upon first meeting, the chemistry is instant- until Rowan finds out just who Holden is…and what he wants to do. And she’s going to make it VERY difficult for him.

Both of our characters Holden and Rowan are strong and stubborn and resourceful and they go head to head in the most delicious way. I love some good powerplays, and lordy do these two love to get under each other’s skin. The tension between them is a beautiful crescendo- and being forced together so often means there are lots of sparks flying. Holden is a classic hate-to-love-him alpha hole- he’s arrogant and deceptive, but also super sexy, even if he’s blinded by his revenge haze. He’s super intriguing, and as we slowly unpack his past and present, he’s increasingly likable and relatable. Rowan seems like an elite princess- and she’s certainly had a lot of privilege. But she’s unsatisfied with her life- and unsatisfied by the patriarchal trappings that are holding her back. I love how smart and sharp she is- she can play the power games as well as the men, and I’m loving her finding more and more power.

The chemistry in this one is tense and spicy, and I’m fascinated about where this story is going to go after our finale. This book did feel a bit long in places, but the pages kept turning and the story was super engaging. I didn’t even know it was going to be the first of a series- so take note!

The audio book of this was so good- and I loved how immersively they pulled us into the story. Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly narrate, and I’ve not listened to a ton of audiobooks by them but am excited to see them in more! Patrick wasn't quite how I imagined Holden (perhaps not quiet as edgey as I expected), but the more I listened, the more I appreciated the performance.

Just beware- this one ends in a cliffhanger, and now I’m desperate for more!

This is the first book in the Tangled Hearts series. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger.

I honestly wasn’t prepared for how much I would enjoy this book. Honestly might be my favorite K Bromberg book to date. The banter between Rowan and Holden was so good. I loved the secret relationship aspect, the sneaking around (I am such a sucker for anything forbidden).

I listen to this audiobook thanks to Macmillan Audio and I thought the narrators (Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly) did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Narrated by: Patrick Zeller; Victoria Connolly

Both narrators did very well. They kept the pace if the story even. Extra points for emotion bought forth. The pain and hurt from the character of Holden came through to the words spoken by the narrator. The frustration and hurt felt by Rowan was also well done.

This is the first book in the series and does end with a big cliffhanger.

Holden is out for justice and will crush anyone in his way. His plan did not include falling for Rowan. As he got to know her and spent time with her, he realized there was more to her than most people saw. She is very smart, independent and of course beautiful. H
However, he must not lose focus on his plans.

Rowan is not what the family would consider a perfect daughter. She wants to run the family company not marry well and sit back and look pretty. The only family member to really see her was her grandmother. When Holden shows up, she is not ready to trust him. Holden is very charming. He woos her without even realizing what he is doing.

These two fight their feelings throughout the book. That does not stop them from their steamy encounters. The teasing, the banter the sexy times are everything. This was well worth the time. Book 2 can’t come soon enough. The ending left all of us full of angst as secrets were revealed.?

Twisted Knight is the first book in Tangled Heart Series and it won’t be a standalone. What a way to start this series. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Kristy!!!! What did I just read and listen to. If you have read her before, y’all better buckle up. Twisted Knight is not like her recent books. This book is edgy, gritty, complex, full of intricacies, mysterious, with a slightly morally gray alpha. The plot twist that are thrown at you aren’t expected at all. I was definitely on a roller coaster ride with Holden and Rowan. The banter, verbal sparring, push, pull, tension, angst, sexual chemistry is just oozing off the pages. The innuendos, games, the way they got under each other’s skin, they are falling for each other but fighting it for different reasons. While these two had a past that connected them, only Holden knew that secret. He was back in the town that shunned him, and he was back for revenge. This aloof, broody, enigmatic, and intriguing soul was back to the place that brought him so much pain. My heart really broke for the young Holden. Chapter 31 OMG. 😭😭The story had flash backs from his past.
The air of aristocracy, entitlement from this town ran deep. Where only the men had a voice. Secrets, lies, deceptions, hidden truths, back handed deals, blackmail, greed, money and power ruled over everything and everyone.
Little did he know that one of the people and pawn on that list Rowan Rothschild was not who he thought she was. His previous misconceptions leave him in a bind when he has an instant attraction to this beautiful, sassy, and smart woman. She was his match. She read him so well, didn’t put up with his nonsense and called things like they were. A true enemies to lovers in the workplace vibe. She’s trying to save her legacy, family name, while her family is trying to bury it all. All while Holden is trying to bury the people who hurt him. And, just when you think these two have figured it out, BAM we get an emotional doozie of an ending with a cliff hanger. Wowzers, so good. I can’t wait to read and listen to the next book in the series.

The book was narrated by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connelly and all I can say is wow. They brought it. The characterization changes and emotions emanating from them was just sheer perfection. Especially from Patrick, man chapter 31 gutted me and I cried. I never cry. Highly recommend a listen.

Holy cliffhanger! I was unprepared and this book had me so hooked! I can't wait to read what happens next....

Twisted Knight is a story of revenge. Holden is determined to take down Rowan's family and this makes them the fabulous enemies (turned lovers) we all love. Rowan, however, does not align with her bothers antics and puts her and Holden in interesting positions. Everyone wants power and I'm interested to see how the game plays out! We do get pieces of back story so we know why everything is taking place and again I just can't wait for more!

I was provided an audio copy for review and narrators Victoria Connelly & Patrick Zeller did an excellent job as Holden & Rowan. Their voices held me captive throughout the story!

Ohmyfreakinglanta. I have been BAMBOOZLED! Tell me why I had no idea this book wasn’t a standalone until the last 10 mins of the audiobook. 😂😭

I loved this story start to finish. Rowan is tired of being the face of her family’s business. She wants to have a more hands on position but her family would rather her marry well and leave the business to her brother. The company is hemorrhaging money and no one can pinpoint why. When Rowan meets a handsome stranger she feels a connection with him, unfortunately the next time they meet he throws her world upside down.

Holden has one goal. Revenge. He has been planning this for years and he’s so close to finally making those who destroyed his family pay. Everything was accounted for. Everything accept his attraction to Rowan. She’s nothing like he remembers her being and now he has to figure out what to do about her.

There are flashback chapters told from Holden’s POV and they help you to understand how he became the ruthless man he is now. My heart shattered for him, and I couldn’t hold back the tears.

I loved Rowan and Holden’s relationship. He sees her value and helps to get her out of her brother’s/family’s control. I loved their banter and the spice was great!

That dang cliffhanger at the end broke me! I need to know what the heck happened. 🥹

The audiobook was fantastic! The narrators, 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐙𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 & 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲, truly brought this story to life. I hope they narrate the next book too! “It’s time to change the dress Holden.” 😭 What an ending!! Ms. Bromberg weaved a story full of heartbreak, revenge and betrayal. I liked that while we get plenty of interactions between Rowan and Holden, they both have their own stories being told as well. I cannot wait for the next book. I am dying to see how this will play out. I listened to the audiobook and let me tell you…..I have never heard a male narrator enjoy certain scenes as much as Patrick Zeller.

Holden has returned to the town that destroyed his life when his brother was killed in a hit and run accident. Now he is going to get his revenge by buying the company that the Rothchilds own and leave them with noting. Until Holden meets Rowan, the youngest Rothchild that lives in a world where her only job is to marry the right man and have children. Rowan wants more than that and with the help of Holden he has promised to give her shares of the company and make her a board member. Holden and Rowan relationship is love and hate, with each wanting more than they can give. I loved this book however, I was disappointed with the cliff hanger and have to wait for book 2 to come out. I would like to thank both NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for letting me listen to this audio book.

Thank you @macmillan.audio for the free ALC 🎧 #MacAudio2024

Why did I think that this would be a romantasy? It was most definitely not any kind of fantasy. Not that kind of knight 🤣🤺

So, I have now read my first billionaire romance 🔥🥵

The first thing to note: this has an entertaining, revenge-based plot. Second: get ready for heavy steam, perfect for my smut loving friends. The romance doesn’t get super hot and heavy until about half-way in but then it... does not... let up... Honestly I devoured this in just a couple days. I enjoyed the interactions and chemistry between smart and sassy Rowan Rothschild and Holden Knight, broody, secretive, self-made tech billionaire from the other side of the tracks.

🎧 The audiobook narrators kept me invested, although Victoria Connolly (voice actor for Rowan) was top-notch and I looked forward to the chapters with her POV most. Flashbacks allow us to unpeel Rowan’s history and need for revenge.

My biggest gripe is the non-ending of an ending. Everything is left hanging for the next in the series, to be continued...

Add this to your list if you love a hot and heavy billionaire romance, enemies to lovers, alpha MMC, and good girl FMC who also holds her own.

I'm upset. Why you ask? Because book two isn't out and I need to know what happens next.

This started out a little slow for me but after a while I was caught up in the story. The title Twisted Knight is perfect because this story is definitely twisted. I loved every minute of it. I can't wait until everything is revealed. Please oh please don't make us wait too long for book two,

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook.

Wooow this one is spicyyyy. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t see the warnings anywhere.

Holden

They thought they’d managed to get rid of me once and for all. They thought I’d just forget what they did to my brother.

But I’m going to make sure that they never forget.

If only I can stop thinking about her.

Rowan

No one sees me. Behind my brother, I’m a ghost, managing the family business that he claims to run. But I’m tired of second fiddle. I’m tired of pretending. I’m going to take what’s mine.

The only problem? Well, he just came back to town.

Oh my goodness! This book is so good. Everything I was hoping it would be.

Rowan is part of the wealthy Rothschild family and the face of the company, TinSpirits. She is not deemed worthy by her family to be a part of the company and was given the title of Vice President of Marketing to placate her.

Holden Knight has a plan to buyout TinSpirits and in turn, get his revenge for something that happened to him in his past. He was not expecting Rowan and the attraction he feels toward her, though. She’s not part of his plan. They do get close as Rowan is his match in every way—including the bedroom and the office. She is one strong woman. There are just enough spicy scenes between them that it doesn’t overtake the plot. I was all in for the plot!

I just can’t believe it’s a cliffhanger ending!

I listened to the advanced listener copy as well as read an advanced reader copy. The narrators, Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly, were both new to me and were both wonderful. I thought the male narrator scenes from fifteen years ago were especially moving.

Thank you to Bramble Romance for the advanced readers copy. Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the advanced listener copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Not for me.

Wasn't awful but it just fell flat for me and the cliff hanger just pissed me off. BECAUSE WHY AFTER IR BEING SO SLOW WOULD YOU DO THAT.

I did not connect with any of the characters.

Meh.

I really enjoyed this story! It has a good enemies to lovers vibe and even though I know there’s going to be conflicts between the characters I genuinely like them and kept rooting for them throughout the story. I was so caught up in the story and what was happening I wasn’t prepared for the cliffhanger ending.
The only issue I had was with the male narrator, he had a weird way of taking a deep breath and then sounding slightly strained while talking, it was distracting sometimes. The female narrator was great!

Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg is an enthralling billionaire workplace romance between a boss & the woman he had a chance meeting with before. K. Bromberg wonderfully combines entertainment with heat, romance & intrigue.

I’ve been a fan of K. Bromberg’s work for over a decade. I was so excited to dive into a new series & even more excited to find out this one was a billionaire romance fronted by an intriguing hero with a surprising backstory & unexpected present.

Twisted Knight is great for fans of…
💙 Workplace Romance
💙 Boss x Employee
💙 Enemies to Lovers
💙 Billionaire Alpha Hero
💙 Revenge
💙 Dual POV

I also listened to the audiobook & I thought the narrators did a fantastic job! I had heard of Patrick Seller before & just like his previous work, I enjoyed it immensely! Victoria Connolly was a fresh voice for me, but they did a great job & perfect for this character.

Now I need to have a word with the author because how could you end on that cliffhanger?! I need more!! I am so curious to learn how everything will workout. I cannot wait to keep reading this story.

If you haven’t read a K. Bromberg book before, I highly recommend giving their work a read & Twisted Knight is a great place to start!

Massive thanks to NetGalley, Tor & Macmillan Audio for the gifted copies, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ALC of Twisted Knight, in exchange for an honest review.

K. Bromberg's 'Twisted Knight' is an amazing romantic suspense book that immediately grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The story is a tale of forbidden love, vengeance, and a compelling past that impacts the present.

Holden's and Rowan's push-and-pull dynamic, will keep you engaged and eager to see how their relationship unfolds. Rowan, a strong and passionate businesswoman, and Holden, a driven billionaire with a dark past, are both incredibly well-developed and relatable characters. Their connection is palpable, even as their conflicting loyalties and secrets threaten to tear them apart.

The dual timeline is seamlessly integrated, providing valuable context and enriching the overall narrative. This approach allows readers/listeners to fully understand the motivations of the characters and the complexities of the plot, enhancing the suspense and the story.

The narration by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly is truly exceptional. Their performances are captivating, bringing Holden and Rowan to life with incredible depth and emotion. Zeller and Connolly's ability to portray the characters' vulnerabilities and complexities adds a powerful layer to the story, making the audiobook an immersive experience.

However, be warned: the story ends on a cliffhanger. A big one!!! The abrupt ending, while certainly effective in leaving the listener wanting more, may frustrate some. My personal reaction was a scream of frustration and a desperate need for the next installment.

'Twisted Knight' is a must-listen for fans of romantic suspense. It's a gripping story with compelling characters, a well-crafted plot, and an exceptional audiobook. If you're looking for an entertaining listen that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then look no further. Just be prepared for a cliffhanger that will leave you desperate for the next chapter in Holden and Rowan's story.

Highly recommended!
