I was quite pleased with this novel after the disappointment of the previous book in the series. The storyline was tighter and more original, keeping me reading straight through to the end. It is a given that Larissa and Jack would be paired up in a book considering the relationship had been a growing topic of interest over at least the last two novels. While Jack portrays the usual male stupidity when it comes to love, Larissa definitely approached their issues in a unique way that was not the smartest either. Her plan certainly added a unique twist to the whole boss/secretary unrequited love thing. I did expect her to make Jack work a little harder, but that’s not in Larissa’s character so consistency is maintained. I am once again looking forward to the next novel in the series, as I just don’t want to let this town go when there are so many more lives to learn about.

I adored Jack and Larissa. I've seen Jack in other Fool's Gold books, and I was always curious of his story. It's fun to see how Mallery set up the series, and her plan to introduce characters.

I loved these two, and I'm here for more.

Jack and Larissa have such a great chemistry on paper. Although he can be a bit thick headed, what man isn't, Jack is such a sweetheart. You can't help rooting for them.
