Protective Instincts is the first book in the Mission: Rescue series. I've previous read books 3, 4, and 7; I loved those stories, but this one wasn't as good in my opinion.

I liked the characters, but the suspense felt a little predictable and certain characters seemed to do things without thinking of the danger. I guessed the villain the moment he/she entered the story, so it was just a matter of finishing the story to see why.

All in all, I liked the book. It is not my favorite of the series, but I'm glad I read it.
