The artwork does a great job showing the difference between their worlds—her once-glamorous life now in ruins, and his dark, dangerous reality. Both characters are flawed, but that’s what makes their bond feel real. You can feel the tension between them, shaped by their shared brokenness and the harsh judgments they face. What starts off as a desperate situation turns into a love story that grows in the most unexpected way.

I’ve really enjoyed reading Snow & Ink so far. The chemistry between the leads and the unfolding mystery keep me hooked, and I’m excited to see where their journey takes them. I can’t wait for the next chapters!

Give me beautiful arts and an intriguing dynamic between the leads and I'm sold. This was a promising first volume to a series and I can't wait to see the kind of mystery and twists that these two will dig themselves into next.

What a refreshing story and by that I mean something I haven't read a million times. It had romance, mystery, and comedy. The pacing was a bit... fast. I won't lie. It did catch me off guard but it wasn't anything to bring down the story.

And for the people rating it low are the same people who either don't really read manga or like to read the same basic crap that is regurgitated. I don't usually make comments on the people who rate low, but this? This just boils my blood a bit.

I was so excited to read this manga but could barely complete it. The title and description was interesting and that's it. The first chapter developed my internet in the story. An abandoned elite who bought a murder to protect herself. But all that was forgotten in the very next chapter. He was nowhere near a murder his character was not even broody or rude. They both fell for eachother in the second chapter. And just became love birds? Story took a total twist and was nothing like it was mentioned in the description.

Freya is a very lame gurl who lets other bully and insult her. I don't know why I picked it

3.5 overall, the only issue I had was we were introduced to the characters but then the relationship status so quickly to devoted and love. But the premise is so interesting. Our MFC is ostracized by her family and people and pays for the freedom of our MMC so he will protector her as he is a famous murderer of 50 people. This begins their journey of accepting one another and showing each our compassion. I will totally look for the next volume to come out.

Very quick read for me, I am loving Manga & Graphic Novels at the moment and I enjoyed seeing how this one has been playing out and am hoping to see the story develop further.

The withdrawn (and banished) Freya buys the convicted murderer Neneo and the two of them head elsewhere to make a new life for themselves. But their pasts seem to follow them around, even as they grow very close in the present.

Bit of a mixed bag this one, succumbing to some wobbly storytelling while also being as manga as all get out at places, which is a feature for some and a bug for others. It ends stronger than it starts, but it’s reasonably good.

Our characters are both broken souls who end up together and I’m glad they don’t drag that out too long, nor do they gloss over the desperation of two people who both genuinely enjoy one another’s company, but are also partly together from sheer desperation.

Freya’s interesting for her failures; she is from an affluent family, but her kind nature lead to her being taken advantage of and that slowly caused her to harden as her bad decisions had wide consequences for more than just herself.

Neneo has reasons for his murders, no big shock there, but he’s also living with the knowledge that he left home with a dream and never really looked back until it was far, far too late. They make a good pairing, especially when Freya comes into her own towards the end.

The storyline feels entirely too choppy for my liking, however, especially at the start. When they are collapsed outside of a cottage and then shortly teleport inside and are warming up, it might have been nice to have at least something transitional there.

And whatever this is leading to won’t be nearly as interesting as our leads themselves, I fear. They fall in with Freya’s fiancé, Halverd, who is more grating than he is gentlemanly. His motivations and such don’t work for me either.

It’s a great romantic coupling, basically, let down by a subpar story that doesn’t appreciate the fine details. As much as I liked the way the relationship hit the ground running, it wouldn’t have hurt to let it breathe a bit more. It feels like a response to all those multi-volume arcs that take forever, just too much the opposite way.

3.5 stars - that extra half is entirely because of how interesting Freya gets by the end and some residual appreciation for her and Neneo. I might give it a second volume, but it didn’t wow me quite as much as I’d hoped.

Snow & Ink was an interesting read, as I was going through it, I dnfed it for a bit but was too nosy to stop myself from picking it back up. The plot was already dark but when I realized it was going towards the way of potentially traumatizing more characters and a potential scientific discovery of the mistreatment for a whole town, it was enough for me to finish the story instead of complaining about character interactions.

I really loved the art in this book and was intrigued by the concept, but I couldn’t find my footing here. The flow is really disjointed and confusing. I liked the idea and the two MCs though and would probably give the second volume a try.

The artwork was beautiful I really enjoyed it! I’m trying to get into mangas so I don’t really know how they typically go but I was confused with this one. The premise of it sounded really good but it felt rushed and underdeveloped. The romance came out of nowhere and I’m still confused on what the storyline is. Maybe it’s just me since I’m just starting out with the genre.

And interesting concept taken in a decidedly uninteresting direction, I felt like the pacing was off and much too fast, with the characters not given enough time to develop the relations they end up having by the end of the volume. The art was good and it had its moments, but overall this was not a series I feel the need to continue.

This has potential to be good! I was drawn in to the story quickly! Romance was very quick but you know trama and all that sometimes bonds are fromed quicly. I was expecting more action but it turned out to be mostly was very insta love, not a bad thing but not often for me!i

I was so excited to read this but ended up dnf'ing it. I loved the concept of this, with two social outcasts finding love and solace in each other, and the art work was really lovely, but unfortunately the story was very jumpy and hard to follow and was so rushed when it really did not need to be. The things that happened in the first chapter alone should have taken place over 1 if not 2 full volumes to really build those relationships and show us what is going on. There was so much telling and not showing and I just couldn't finish it as I was so annoyed with the amount of development it missed out. Such a promising manga, but so disappointingly executed.

This was very fast paced and felt kind of insta-lovey but I really enjoyed it. The art style was really good and wasn't too over done. It told the story beautifully. The story overall was well thought out and I understood everything that was happening. The characters are really cute and although I wish we got more of the build up to them liking and being nice to each other, I still enjoyed them together. I am looking forward to the next volume! It does say that it is sci-fi/fantasy on the netgalley app but I didn't get any of that in the story so I wouldn't classify it as that.

What an intriguing story! While the art style and fast-paced plot took some time to adjust to, the overall experience was enjoyable. Though the characters felt somewhat stereotypical and lacked distinct qualities, the story's execution more than made up for it.

When I first picked up Snow & Ink 1, I was immediately intrigued by the premise. NeNeo, a man condemned for killing 50 villagers, is paraded through the streets for his execution, only to be spared by the noble Freya, who claims him as her servant. It's a captivating setup that promises a mix of redemption, intrigue, and a clash of personalities.

That said, I found myself a bit confused in the beginning. The story throws you right into the action without much explanation, and I struggled to get my bearings. The world-building is interesting, but I wanted more familiarity or grounding early on. It took me a while to feel fully immersed in the characters’ backstories and their motivations.

However, as the narrative unfolded, the dynamic between NeNeo and Freya became more compelling. They are two very different people, shaped by society's disdain and pity, yet they gradually open up to each other. Their evolving relationship and shared sense of isolation are the story’s strongest points.

Overall, the book has potential. I can see where the series might go from here, and I think it could really hit its stride as it develops further. If you're into stories of unlikely bonds and personal redemption, *Snow & Ink 1* might be worth your time—just be prepared to push through some initial confusion.

I loved this book. It deserves so much more than five stars.
From the story to the characters, it's simply fantastic.
I love how the characters, through different ways, find themselves in similar situations, and how it affects them and how they decide to deal with it.
The two characters are very resilient, and so interesting!! We slowly discover more about them throughout the pages. And the best of all, is the sweet romance that the two characters share with each other. It's so loving!! It's simply just love, in which they let each other get better and heal their past pains.
And now a little mystery and quest has begun, and I'm loving it, since it allows us to get to know more about the characters.
There is another character who stands out in the story besides the protagonists, he's a bit strange and eccentric, but so interesting. I love him!!
I loved the illustrations, with the strong lines that let the emotions of the characters and the story pass through to the reader.
I can't wait to read the next volume in the series.

𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘸 & 𝘐𝘯𝘬 has an intriguing premise: a romance between a convicted murderer and a disgraced heiress, both scarred by their past and uncertain about what the future holds. A manga with historical intrigue, forbidden love, and stunning art? I’M SOLD!! 😍 I knew I had to read this book immediately!!
The art style of this manga is so captivating, reminiscent of 𝘝𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 and 𝘔𝘺 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘦. The designs are also spot-on! The mangaka did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of each character while also showing that they come from different social classes. I really liked the main characters, Neneo and Freya. Despite their differences, it makes sense that they had a instant connection since they are both shunned by society. These two characters work so well together and I think their relationship is really sweet. 💗 Plus, this manga also has solid side characters like Halvard.
While the characters were likable enough, their development was rushed. The pacing of the story was too fast for my liking which made it difficult to stay engaged. Everything is happening too fast, leaving hardly any room for the story to breathe. The manga also keeps missing the emotional beats and rushing through important details. This is such a poor and haphazard setup to a promising story that I can’t help but feel really disappointed. 😕
𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘸 & 𝘐𝘯𝘬 has so much potential, but ultimately, I think this volume failed to deliver a strong introduction to this series. The quick pace and lousy setup hindered the manga's ability to fully explore its unique concept. I hope the author will take their time with the story to improve plot progression and character introductions. Although it's not there yet, I still think this manga could evolve into a good and long-running series.

The description in itself just hooked me and the art style is just chef's kiss. The relationship between Neneo the murderer and Freya the Heiress that bought him is so cuteeee! I was giggling the whole time I read it.

I always had my doubts about Neneo murdering the entire village and I was right. He still is scarred by his past and even when him and Freya live alone in a cabin, quite a peaceful and cute getaway, it's not enough to make him forget. Freya has her own scars and is still so protective of Neneo it makes my heart go thump thump. Especially when Neneo becomes protective haha.

I also love the small mini comics at the end of each chapter and love how Freya travels to the village which Neneo burned...to make him face his fears. As long as they stay true to each other, I believe they will be happy!

Even Freya's friend is an interesting one haha. Can't wait to read volume 2!

Hands-down one of the best, unputdownable manga series I’ve read in a while. There’s not even a moment to pause and breathe air—you’ll devour this in one whole. That’s how readable the series is with its interesting dynamics, hooking, <i>fitting</i> misfit of a couple. This is sweet, melancholic at times, cute, and just flavorful. Just perfectly told in a beautiful art style.
