This is the first time I have read this author and I so enjoyed this book. Jovi, a traveling nurse gets stranded at the airport in Alaska and befriend as a single dad Solomon Burke and his daughter Darcy Jane. He has reserved a rental car to get him to Evergreen which is where Jovi is going. She is going to try to help save the Evergreen Candy Company ran by her family. There is a feud that has been going on between her family and his. Her parents want to sell but she and her sister don't. See how Burke , Isabel and Mason get together to solve the mystery of the feud. This book is A GREAT READ., Follow them to see what happens.

"A Winter of Sweet Secrets' indeed! Heidi McCahan has written a totally romantic novel. What would a great romance novel be without secrets being revealed that could threaten a budding relationship. A handsome widowed male novelist with an adorable little girl and a model-worthy female main character with a Romeo & Juliet feud between their families. Can forgiveness find its way into their challenges to offer a chance for a future?
Releases Spt. 30th. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This author is new to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for anything else they publish. I loved the story and the characters. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were relatable.

A moving and slightly suspenseful clean romance. Author Heidi McCahan drew me in on the first page with a delicious description of chocolate and weaved it throughout the entire story. A charming story set in an Alaskan chocolate shop you won't want to put down.

Clean, cute, cozy romance. It’s definitely a book to recommend for hallmark fans. The plot wasn’t very original, I could guess the ending, but overall it was a fun read.

thought this was a great Hallmark esk book, enjoyed the simplicity of it! was so happy that it was a clean romance too!
I thought the characters were very relatable and it was sweet seeing the romance blossom.
my biggest issue was the fact that the pov's changed and there wasn't like a break telling you. like in the beginning, Jovi is talking with her sister on the phone and mid conversation the pov changes to the sister. I'm not sure if it's just how the book was formatted for the ARC or what. but I didn't like how it flowed.
overall it was a good book! thank you NetGalley and the author for this ARC!

A chance meeting, of a grumpy single dad with a precious little girl and a recently jilted woman with a sunshine personality, leads to an engaging story as they discover a rift between their families.
This is a charming tale that pulls various emotions throughout the book. Topics included are dementia, miscarriage, loss of loved ones, secrets, betrayal, forgiveness, and more. The little girl is delightful, adding another layer to the interaction between the main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who like romance in the midst of drama.

Sweet, cozy winter romance. Jovi Wright's family has run the Evergreen Candy Company ever since her grandmother started the company. But now it's in trouble. Jovi's parents want to sell the company. Jovi and her sister want to keep it. Jovi believes if she can just find her Grandmother's secret recipe for her caramel chews, it'll be exactly what the company needs to stay in business.
Burke Solomon is still blaming himself for the accident that killed his wife and infant son when he decides to take his daughter Darby Jane to live in Evergreen. When he meets Jovi, sparks fly. Except that his late aunt and Jovi's grandmother have fueded for as long as everyone can remember. But perhaps Burke can help Jovi find the recipe she's seeking and they can create the family they both need.
Some religious undertones included that do not aid the storyline - I didn't realize the imprint when I requested the novel.

I always love anything by Harlequin LoveInspired authors with Heidi’s newest book being no exception. I loved this sweet winter time Alaskan clean sweet romance.
Jovi after a devastating breakup before her wedding, she doesn’t know where to go but when her sister ask her to come back home to Alaska to try and save the family’s candy shop. She mets Burke, single widowed father and his sweet bubbly daughter, Darby Jane.
This book has some mystery to it with the family’s secret which kept me intrigued even more. I read it in basically in one day (started late last night but knew if I didn’t stop I’d stay awake all night 🫣.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This was a sweet and charming romance, perfect for putting you in the mood for wintertime. I really enjoyed the budding relationship between Jovi and Burke—the push and pull between them felt believable and well-paced. The multiple POVs added a nice depth to the story, especially getting glimpses from Jovi’s sister’s perspective.
The underlying mystery surrounding the long-lost recipe and the family rift added just enough intrigue to keep things moving. I’ll admit, there were moments I wanted to shake a few characters—they could be a bit dense—but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment overall. A lovely winter read!

If you love Hallmark type stories, this one is for you.
A Winter of Sweet Secrets is a lovely clean romance novel by Heidi McCahan.
Years of feuding has left two candy companies leaving emotions running high. With Jovi on a quest to find the elusive Salted Caramel Chews recipe to save her families company from being bought out by a conglomerate. Her grandmother is in an Alzheimer unit and doesn't remember any of the family. Which puts Jovi on the hunt in every cubby and corner of Grammys house.
Burke has relocated to Alaska after a tragic loss of his wife and baby son. He brings his five year old daughter, who is a delightful addition to the story. He meets Jovi at the airport where they are stranded and offers her a ride. The romance blooms even though both families have been feuding for years. The mystery of the rift between the families is engaging as they try to figure it out along with who owns the recipes.
Good dialogue, interesting plot and entertaining reading.
I received a complimentary ebook from the publisher through Net Galley. All opinions are my own.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book through Net Galley and the author.
If you love movies on the Hallmark Channel then you're definitely gonna love this book. After all , a feuding family and a secret recipe are the perfect combination for a love story.
I also loved how the book was written from multiple points of view. Mostly are two main characters but a family member as well so it gave a great perspective. I also loved that it was set in an Alaskan town because Alaska's one of my favorite places. Jovi and Burkes story had just the right amount of banter. All in all this story was charming and appealing. Its the perfect book to cozy up with on the couch on a cold winter day.

This book gave charming, sweet, small town, Hallmark movie vibes. It was a nice, clean and cozy read. I do like that there was a bit of mystery involved about feuding families and secret recipes. I also enjoyed the triple point of view piece - I’m used to dual point of view stories but this was the first triple point of view. It was written well because I did find myself invested in all the characters stories!
However, at the end of the day it was just a charming and cozy story, but not memorable, hence the 3 stars.

This was a sweet and charming romance, perfect for putting one in the mood for wintertime. I enjoyed the romance between Jovi and Burke, the push and pull between the two was well done. I also enjoyed the multiple points of view in the book as we get to see things from not only Burk and Jovi's perspectives, but also from Jovi's sister as well.
The underlying mystery of finding the missing recipe and figuring out what caused the rift between Jovi's family and Burke's family added an extra layer to the story.
I admit at times I got quite irritated with the characters, a few times they were too dense for their own good, but overall I did really enjoy this book.

With this being my first book by this author, I was more than pleasantly surprised! Emotions ran high, family feuds seemed interminable, disappointments clung mercilessly, yet hope was the single thread woven throughout bringing closure to years of bitterness and regret. And could the possibility of that one single, magical recipe being found and recreated save the failing family business? How about hints of romance sprinkled throughout? A delightful, entertaining read!

Jovi's parents are thinking of selling the candy company they have run for decades in alaska. Jovi heads home to try to help. good story

A sweet romance the follows the mystery behind an old feud as well as two people who return to a small Alaska town. The mystery and characters are all great and it made for a nice read. A few parts dragged some for me, but overall enjoyed.
