Wow! This duo did it and did it well. I loved the tie in. The storylines are captivating and love the level of spice. Thoroughly enjoyed this read!!

The authors were able to capture their audience with creating interesting and sensual characters. The story fit with the level of spice just right. The authors played together so well!

I will be posting about Wicked Pursuit on my book instagram on Feb 25, 2025.

Wicked Pursuit Feedback: Reviewer name Lisa Reid

Rating 4 stars/ spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

❤️touch her and you die
❤️primal play
❤️stalker romance
❤️red riding hood x big bad wolf retelling

Wow! This book was so hot. This is a stalker romance that had a twist I honestly didn’t see coming but LOVED so much!

Katee Robert always writes the best retellings, this is a Red riding hood x big bad wolf and it is so great. I was so happy to revisit Carver City and even though Ruby doesn’t go to the underworld she does go to The Black Rose Auction, which is just as delicious.

Divine Intervention Feedback:

I did not rate this book on Goodreads, but did post a Review

I was unable to finish this book, it was a DNF. I struggled through about 50% and was still confused. The world building happened so quickly that I couldn't completely follow the plot and the reasing for why they were at the auction or why anything was happening how it was happening. I also couldn't get past the use of "Papa Bear" in a sexy, not sarcastic or funny way.

The idea of angels v. demons was appealing to me and the premise that the angels are more manipulative and in someways the "bad guys" was interesting. I do believe that if I had read some of this author's other works in this universe I would have been able to follow even with the lack of world building.

wicked pursuit was absolutely AMAZING! this was the best spice I’ve read in a while & i was FERAL for it!!! divine intervention didn’t get my heart racing as much, & the story wasn’t as engaging for me! 5 stars for Wicked Pursuit, 3 stars for Divine Intervention; averaged out to 4 stars for both!

It's hard to write a review for a duo book!

Wicked Pursuit: 4/5 stars
Katee Robert does not disappoint and brings the heat 🥵🔥🌶️ in this novella. Read the content warnings ... Pearl clutchers need not apply.

I was not sure I would enjoy this as much as I wasn't sure I was into the masked man trope. I wasn't but this is still highly enjoyable.

If you've read her Wicked Villains series, this is a fun tie in as it's the next generation. I haven't read all of those books (yet) so it can also be read stand alone.

Divine Intervention: 3/5 stars
I did enjoy this book and there were some good steamy scenes. As the second book in the Black Rose Auction series, it was a good continuation that brought another story to life from the auction that I think Katee set up well in the first book. I absolutely loved the incorporation of Nahuatl lore. BUT, I couldn't give this one 4 starts for three reasons: 1. the world building was almost too much. Don't get me wrong, I want more but in a series from this author. I think they were trying to accomplish too much with the backstory in this one. 2. And, as a result, while the scenes were steamy I didn't really have any real feelings for the characters. 3. I couldn't get used to the characters use of slang and country-isms. I think that works in some books but when it's a book about angels and demons and witches, I couldn't wrap my head around beings that have been alive for centuries saying "Naw, I'm just tryna ..."

Both of these books though made me want to read the others in the series!

Wicked Pursuit
I have read Katee Robert before, and I really liked this work by her as well. This was very, very loosely based on our childhood story, Little Red Riding Hood. Katee definitely brought a lot of delicious twists to the classic and I had a great time reading them. The steamy scenes were pretty enjoyable, and I especially loved when the wolf was revealed. I actually sat up and had to reread that part again. Wasn't expecting that!! All in all, it was a good time for me.
I'd rate this 3.5 stars
Divine Intervention
There was a lot more storyline and the workings of "heaven and hell" than I had expected so I had difficulty getting into the story. All the angelic and demonic conversations were too complicated for me to get behind. Most of the time reading through the story, I had difficulty remembering that this is a romantic retelling and using "papa bear" and "just right" was the only thing tied to the original story. Without these two terms it really could've been an angel and demon epic fantasy. However, the steamy scenes were pleasurable to read.
I'd rate this 3 stars.

This entire series was just absolutely amazing. Katee Robert offers her signature style to this set, as does R.M. Virtues. Fairy tales made for adults, with a super spicy twist.

Wicked Pursuit 5 STARS! I'm a BIG Katee Robert fan but WOW is this one of her best yet. It's unhinged in the best way. Wow, I didn't see the plot twist coming! I was hooked from page 1, that opening line...ifykyk. The games these two play are wild! Super excited to see how the Wicked Villain gen 2 pans out after this HIT of a start!

Divine Intervention 3 Stars, I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Goldilocks meets angels/demons meets heist!? There is so much plot to be had in such a short time, that constantly pushes these characters together. I just wish the world building was done a little more fluently. Otherwise an easy fun read!

Thank you Netgally and Sourcebooks for the eARC!

Twice the spice!! 🌶️ I loved both of these books- dark romance is a yes from me and these both ticked the boxes. Came for the spicy scenes and stayed for the story! Sexy characters, great plot- these books were perfect!

Wicked Pursuit by Katee Robert
Wicked Pursuit follows Ruby, a mafia daughter, future heir to her family’s entire fortune and territory. Well, she has been a very bad girl. When she gets bored with her run-of-the-mill, vanilla boyfriend, she decides to live on the edge and play with someone else. She gets caught, and acquires a stalker. And the body of the poor soul she decided to spend a night with. The Big Bad Wolf. He has big teeth. And he will stop at nothing to keep his Little Red Riding Hood for himself.
Wicked Pursuit is a Red Riding Hood inspired erotica novel by Katee Robert. It is part of the Black Rose Auction series, which includes the works of a few different authors, and different spicy retelling of familiar stories. It was definitely interesting, and I was shocked when everything was revealed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone wanting a mafia/stalker romance with lots of intense, but oh so beautiful spicy scenes.
I would personally rate this book 4 stars, as I did enjoy this read, I wish it was longer and a little more drawn out, maybe if we were able to hear more about the family members, the aftermath of the ending. Hoping the next books in the series might bring this couple back up for updates! I would advice anyone to read the trope and trigger warnings for sure, but anyone whom has read any of Katee Robert’s work knows, nothing is good without a little trigger warning.. or 12.

Divine Intervention by R.M. Virtues
Divine Intervention follows Tlalli, a part angel/part witch woman on a mission to acquire something very valuable to her employer. A golden chalice. And it will be available at the Black Rose Auction in New York. She has to get to it before the demons do. After an insufferable first day alongside someone she severely despises, she finds a kindred spirit of her past. One whom she severely betrayed, and She has to work for forgiveness.
Divine Intervention is the second book in the Black Rose Auction series. It is a Goldilocks remix erotica supernatural romance novel. Featuring angels, demons, and witches. With an interesting magic dynamic and spice that will have you fanning yourself. I enjoyed this book.
I would personally rate this 4 stars, as I just wish there was more plot and context. I hope the other books in the series that will be one day revealed will follow these couples, and the characters stories. This was my first introduction to RM Virtues and I would totally read more book by them.

I mean!!! I love anything Katee writes, and this was my first exposure to R.M Virtues. I am so excited to read more from them in the future, and also to read the rest of the books in this series.

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, all opinions are my own.

Katee Robert, come for the spice, stay for the story that actually makes me root for the stalker?!? You’ll have to read it to get it but obviously on the page is a different story from real life 😉 But I loved the freedom the characters got to explore their wants and needs and how they were able to do so in a consensual manner. The spicy scenes were 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ as I have come to expect from them and the exploration of a story past the Wicked Villians series was an unexpected delight.

Katee Robert and R.M. Virtues kick off The Black Rose Auction series with a major bang!

Each book takes a fairy tale (Little Red Riding Hood & Goldilocks and The Three Bears) and brings it into the world of The Black Rose Auction. A place where anything, and anyone, can be sold for a price. I loved the world building between the two books and two authors added variety to the series. I will say that this is Gen 2 for Katee Robert and having some prior knowledge of her world building is needed, but trust me, you'll want to read their books anyway.

I can't wait to see where this series goes!

I was so excited for this series and the first two stories did not disappoint.

Katee Robert is a long time favorite of mine and to no ones surprise hit all the marks with this story for me. Returning to the world of wicked villains was a treat, but I'm happy that while we got glimpses of past characters the new characters got to really shine.

R.M. Virtues was a new author to me and did not disappoint. Queer characters at the forefront of a story where they get to embrace sexuality and just be queer is a refreshing take I hope to see more of in the ever changing romance world.

A fun, sexy, and well paced start to a promising series. Can't wait to have it in store.

These were fun. I liked the first book much more than the second. I am not entirely sure why. Dark romance for me is all about the vibe and I just couldn't mesh with the vibes in the second book, so I am giving the set three stars as an average. Alone, the first book probably would have been four stars. I do love a good spicy retelling, so thanks for writing them.

Katee Robert is a total auto-buy author for me. If she’s writing it, I’m reading it because she’s always writing something fresh with unique characters that always brings on the good spice!

I love everything about the Black Rose Auction series, a connected series of six books that interweave danger and spice, that brings together some of the best steamy authors in romance.

The fact that this was a Little Red Riding Hood stalker romance was just icing on the cake.

If you had asked me to read a stalker romance where the possessive hero would kill whoever touched the woman he considered his, I probably would have passed on the book, but knowing Katee Robert wrote it, I knew that I was in good hands.

This was the perfect, steamy romance that I could dive into in one sitting and just sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s a quick read that isn’t high on character development or storyline but gives just enough to hook you into it and have you curious to know who is this stalker, what is Ruby going to do about it and where will it lead them?

If you love good girls gone bad stories, and possessive heroes who have their own voyeurism and jealousy kinks, then this is the book for you. It will have you eager for more Wicked Villains’ offspring stories and wishing you got even more of Ruby and Wolf.

I could sense where the twist was going and loved how it turned out. Now to binge-read the rest of the series!

Thank you for the advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

These are steamy and delicious. I enjoyed both stories and feel like I’m missing something because I want more from these characters and their stories.
A must read for romance steamy lovers

Thank to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for providing me with an ARC of both "Wicked Pursuit" by katee Robert and "Divine Intervention" by RM Virtues.
Wick pursuit: 4.5 stars
I really enjoyed the wicked pursuit book. It was a fun read. Hot stalker romance done right. It was suspenseful and sexy. Only problem with this book was that at the beginning of book, the FMC was cheating which gave me a bit of ick.
Divine Intervention: 2.5 stars
I must admit , I didn't enjoy "divine intervention" as much as I have enjoyed the first book. The writing was a bit confusing to me and the plot was not my cup of tea. Though, there were parts of the book that I really enjoyed.

I have discovered that I am loving when a book has two authors especially when it is dark romance/ romance etc and this one was done really well. I loved the style of writing, I loved the story line and the characters, Loved the spice. I just loved it

I have already loved everything Katee Robert writes and this book is no exception. What I wasn’t expecting was to find a new favorite author with R.M. Virtues. Their book was truly divine. I loved everything about both books and can’t recommend them enough.

*Thank you to the authors, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this! Per usual, my opinions and review are 100% my own*

This is technically two books in one, so each will get their own review! Overall, I LOVE this and will definitely be reading the other books in this series written by some other amazing authors! Overall this gets 4 stars from me and alllll the chili spices. The world was semi-familiar to me as an absolute stan of all of Katee Robert's work.

Wicked Pursuit
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

Katee's books will almost always just HIT for me. I was frothing at the mouth when I learned it was Beast/Gaton/Belle's daughter! I will say that I guessed at least a bit of who the masked stalker was, but the TRUE identity?! I did not see that coming and I legitimately squealed.

If you've not read Katee's original Wicked Villains series (particularly the Beast, which is the origin story of Ruby's parents), I think this story will still make sense, but I don't think it'll have the same impact. Me knowing the background characters, particularly the parents, but also all of the other territory leaders really added to full impact of this storyline. Especially since these are all novellas, there's not a ton of time to go into all of the backstories.

This series is HIGH on the spice. Wicked Pursuit in particular is a stalker romance (but she can't stop talking to him), possession and chasing, primal play, and so much more. Read your content warnings if you're not comfortable with k!nk in general!

Divine Intervention
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I was on a high from Wicked Pursuit and this one sadly fell a bit short for me. I love me an angels vs. devils vibe, and this is a loose dark retelling of Goldilocks, but somewhere just fell a bit short. I do definitely think that you need to have read at minimum Wicked Pursuit to not feel lost in this one. Still VERY high on the spice: ex's dad, age gap, CNC, fallen (and falling) angels and witches.

I personally was a bit thrown off having read the complex web that is all of Katee's books (won't go into which ones all link here since that will spoil some things if you haven't read those books), but all of them are strictly magic-free. So reading about witches and angels and demons from the get-go threw me off my game. Just for me personally I would have preferred this to have been a plain old heist with potentially some mafia or assassin groups instead of angels vs. demons. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters and perhaps due to the short nature of this story, didn't even feel the level of hatred for the villain of this story. The result was that I liked the book, but didn't ultimately love it.
