What a hilarious story this was! Fed up with their families constantly bickering, Amanda Anderson and Dane Silvers decide to fake their engagement to put an end to the feud once and for all. Little did they know that this ruse would spiral into chaos as their families now compete to plan their wedding. In the midst of the madness, Amanda and Dane find themselves falling for each other as they spend more time together.

Dane harbored a secret crush on Amanda since their high school days, but their families' rivalry kept them apart. Their chemistry was undeniable, and there was a magnetic attraction between them. I adored Dane's cool and collected demeanor, which contrasted perfectly with Amanda's outgoing personality.

The dual narration by CJ Bloom and Connor Crais was simply fantastic. I was utterly impressed by their storytelling. And the epilogue narrated by Connor had me in stitches!

Overall, if you're a fan of a modern twist on the Romeo and Juliet concept, complete with humor and heartwarming moments, then this charming story is a must-listen.

First of all, Chili the dog's epilogue was perfect finishing touch! Calling them his pets had me cracking up!

This story takes place in a Christmas town but during summertime. It still gave me that fun, hallmark Christmas vibe and I really enjoyed that aspect. Dane and Amanda have known each other since high school but could never have anything to do with each other because their family has been feuding for decades. No one knows why, but now that they are both in town they team up in a fake engagement to bring the families together.

Pippa Grant always brings so much fun to her stories and this one was no different. I definitely got a Hallmark Christmas in July vibe. The instant chemistry between Dane and Amanda was so heartwarming. They start out just wanting to help each other and realize just how meant for each other they are. Both of the families had me giggling with their quips at each other. Chili the laziest dog was the perfect addition and I love how he accepted Amanda as his new pet. This story was full of heartfelt moments, family drama, and lots of laughs!

C.J Bloom is one of my top favorite narrators and she did so good on bringing Amanda's character to life. I could truly feel her emotions as I listened. Connor Crais was a great edition to this story as well and he did great at portraying Adam's character. They both blended so well together on this audio!

Thank you HambrightPR and Netgalley for the ALC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

This fake engagement, forced proximity, feuding families story is so dang sweet. It’s the kind of story you need when you need a break from heaviness or darker themed stories - it’s all just sweet and fun.

Amanda and Dane pretend to be madly in love in order to break the family feud and uncover the mystery as to why they are fueding in the first place. The small town collective support the two in their engagement as they want the fueding to be over too.

Narrated by Connor Crais and CJ Bloom, the Mattie’s bring the story to life with the fun and lightness needed for the characters.

It was truly an engaging and entertaining listen.

✨ALC Review✨

I absolutely loved this book. And as much as I loved it, that bonus epilogue alone made the entire book for me!

From start to finish, I couldn't stop giggling. I absolutely loved the humor in this.

I've read many holiday/Christmas themed books but this might just be my new favorite one. Because not only was it not overly cheesy but it was well written and was really so cute.

This is marketed as Romeo & Juliet meets Hallmark Christmas movie and it honestly couldn't be more accurate. Truly, I ate this up. And shoutout to the narrators for doing such an amazing job. Especially Connor Crais playing Dane. I could listen to that man's voice for a hot minute. Anyways...

Two families are in a centuries long feud. Why? No one knows but they make sure to stay in their lanes. Amanda and Dane are frankly quite sick of this feud; especially since Amanda and Lorelai, Dane's sister, have been secret best friends for years. When Amanda comes home to visit and hears she will be inheriting the family shop she doesn't want, she lies and tells everyone she's engaged to enemy number one - Dane Silver.

Is this a predictable plot? Yes. But was it still absolutely entertaining and so much fun to see unfold? Absolutely!

Amanda is honestly such a cute and relatable character. She had dreams of being an actor but instead is a New York dog walker. She want to make her family happy but she's tired of the drama. She's tired of hiding her friendship and she wants everyone to move on. I just really loved her personality. Seeing her start to open up to possibilities with Dane was fun and I loved seeing her character development.

Dane is a dream. He's had a crush on Amanda since high school and didn't hesitate to jump on board when she announces they're engaged. It was cute honestly. I really loved getting to see his dreams come true here. He's hilarious too and I was kind of swooning for him.

Watching these two...or really listening to these two form a friendship and start to develop feelings was amazing. I was really rooting for them. They had such cute moments and some awkward, funny moments. I loved them pretending but I loved it even more when they weren't. I really loved their chemistry and thought they made such a perfect pairing. These two just made sense in being together. And we even get some great spice!!

The real star of the show is Chili, Dane's doggo. What a little lazy mush but so damn cute. The fact...THE FACT we get a POV from him was everything I could want and more. I've never laughed so hard during a bonus epilogue...I don't think I've ever loved a bonus epilogue as much.

We get answers to the feud and we get family drama...a lot of family drama. Was it absolutely ridiculous? For sure! Cheesy as it may be, it was enjoyable. I was entertained though!!

If you couldn't tell, I loved this. I was entertained. I laughed, I blushed, and I found myself really picturing this as a Hallmark movie. I couldn't stop listening to it as it was such a smooth and easy listen. Definitely going to need a physical copy for my trophy shelf!!

If you love anything Hallmark, a cute dog, families who feud with other families...you will love this!

Thank you so much for Hambright PR & Pippa Grant, & NetGalley for the ALC copy!

Move over Montagues and Capulets. The Andersons and Silvers have a feud just as venomous, but this time the young “lovers” are determined that it won’t end in tragedy.

It’s a tale as old as time - Gingerbread vs. Fruitcake - and the entire town of Tinsel, Michigan is swept up in the long standing anger between the families though no one knows what grievance lies at the center of the animosity. Amanda returns to Tinsel at the behest of her tyrannical grandmother to take over the family gingerbread business - a job she does not want. Dane Silver is visiting his hometown when he runs into Amanda and discovers that she and his sister are secretly BFFs sneaking around to hide their friendship. Together they cook up a plan to get Amanda disowned so she doesn’t have to face a future of molasses and cookie cutouts, and end the feud in the process.

What follows is a farcical,holiday-ish, fake dating rom-com that had me laughing and smiling from start to finish. The audio version of the book is expertly narrated by Connor Crais and CJ Bloom. Each brings the perfect amount of fun to their characters and makes this a book I hated to pause. The bonus epilogue in particular is award worthy. I’ve added Pippa Grant to my list of authors I want to read more from.

Thank you to NetGalley, Hambright PR, and Brilliance Publishing, and Montlake for for the advance copies in exchange for my honest review.

What a fun take on Romeo and Juliet without the tragic love story. Dane and Amanda grew up with a family that has hated each other for as long as everyone remembers but not sure why. Both Dane and Amanda are back in small town Tinsel and agree to pretty to fake engagement in an attempt to cease the hate between the family.

I love how Dane falls first and their interaction with each other as well as the town was great. It is a bit insta love for me as this place takes place in the span of a week. I enjoyed the added mystery of trying to figure out what caused the rife between the family.

Connor Crais and CJ Bloom did a great job with the narration. I especially loved the epilogue.

Thank you @brillancepublishing @hambright_pr for ALC.

Set in a magical Christmas themed family rivalry where Dane and Amanda try to make the long standing family feud with a joint agreement for a fake engagement story.

A very sweet and hilarious story with fun family dynamics and literally the most perfect set-up for a hallmark Christmas Classic if you ask me! This is book is a great reset refresher if you are looking for something light, fun and holiday themed.

Since I did this as an audio, Connor, the male narrator gets me every time with his delicious depiction and really brings all these handsome MCs to life. With his voice, the grandma antics and lazy dog Chili’s shenanigans, this was a great rom-com!!!

he Fake Wedding Project is a completely cute, forced proximity and fake relationship trope book. The added bonus is that Amanda and Dane of the afore mentioned fake relationship are from warring families in the little town of Tinsel that looks like it is celebrating Christmas all year round. When Amanda accidently work vomits, she and Dane are engaged in a bid to get out of the family business the gingerbread hits the fan.

Dane and Amanda are so adorable. Both are extremely likable and each has a bone to pick with their families over the feud that has lasted generations in the little town of Tinsel. Amanda had to hid her friendship with Dane’s sister while growing up and Dane felt every accomplishment in his life was just a boasting point for his family to use against Amanda’s. Dane is ready to pretend to be engaged in the hopes they can get enough family members on their side to put this feud to rest once and for all. Maybe they will even discover how the feud started when some copies of old letters start showing up at their door.

With enough fruitcake and gingerbread, you can finally fix everything I suppose. This was a really cute story as the town tries to throw together a quick wedding for the couple they think will end the feud of the century, well at least in this sleepy little town. They might live on different coasts and have incredibly different kinds of jobs, but the girl Dane crushed on so hard in high school just might be the woman he could spend his life with, at least he could if he can convince her that what they are faking just might be real.

The Fake Wedding Project is one of those kinds of books I like reading in between something heavy or long. It is fun, fast, a little bit steamy and a great reset. I even loved that sometimes in the end the girl needs to take the lead.

Narration:
Both Connor Crais and CJ Bloom have huge catalogs of work, each with over 300 titles narrated. With that you know that the experience is going to be polished and have the finesse of truly seasoned professionals. Each did really well with their PoV and made the characters so much fun. Even Chili the dog was given a great personality that shone through during narration. I was able to listen at my usual 1.5x speed.

This one was fun!! I listened to the audio version & Conner Crass & CJ Bloom were amazing as the voices of Amanda & Dean. The small town of Tinsel, Montana is obsessed with Christmas almost as much as they are totally over the drama of the Silver & Anderson family feud. The fake engagement pack stems from the idea of ending the feud but ends with a HEA! It’s got all things Christmasy in the middle of the summer, including gingerbread & fruitcake!!

All the sugar with the perfect touch of spice! The Fake Wedding Project by Pippa Grant was a heartfelt holiday small-town rom-com that put a smile on my face and left me all merry and bright! Amanda and Dane’s feuding family drama had light-hearted Romeo and Juliet vibes, with all the Christmas cheer, and I was here for it. This book is just perfect for the holidays.

C.J. Bloom and Connor Crais perform this audiobook in dual narration. These two embodied all things Amanda and Dane delivering Pippa’s amusingly swoony words perfectly. C.J.’s upbeat, lively tone portrayed Amanda’s passion and dedication to the cause to help her family overcome their conflicted past. Connor’s warm inviting voice matched Dane’s charismatic and attentive demeanor as he made his intentions clear with his family and Amanda. (Swoon!) Not to mention, Connor’s performance in the epilogue as the dog, Chili was hilarious perfection. Both narrators also created just the right amount of tension and longing between Amanda and Dane.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a small-town holiday romance with a hot hunky dog-loving hero, a devoted community theater lover, feuding families, house break-ins, Christmassy year-round towns, high school crushes, Gingerbread Shops, fruitcake, fake engagements, family cookouts, canoe mishaps, eggnog lattes, life-size snow globes, secret letters, rainy spice, family truths, and a HEA that will fill you with cheer, then you will love Amanda and Dane’s story. I always look forward to more from Pippa Grant.

This was a new to me author and I couldn’t put this down! These narrators really bring these characters to life and I can’t wait to dive in to more from this author!

"The Fake Wedding Project" by Pippa Grant is a delightfully charming romance that combines the best of holiday cheer with a fun and steamy fake engagement trope. Set in the Christmas-themed town of Tinsel, Michigan, this story follows Dane and Amanda, two star-crossed "nonlovers" from feuding families. When Amanda announces that they’re engaged to try and end the long-standing family feud, Dane—who harbored a secret high school crush on Amanda—plays along, setting the stage for a romance that’s as heartwarming as it is hilarious.

The chemistry between Dane and Amanda is irresistibly sweet, and their journey from faking it to falling for each other feels authentic and fun. I loved watching them navigate the chaos of a town trying to throw together a wedding for the couple they believe will bring peace to the Anderson-Silver rivalry. There’s also an intriguing little mystery surrounding the origin of the feud, which adds an extra layer of depth to the story. Despite their differences, both Amanda and Dane genuinely want their families to get along, and their efforts to mend fences while realizing their feelings for each other make for a charming, feel-good read.

Listening to the audiobook added another layer of enjoyment to the experience. The narration by Connor Crais and CJ Bloom was polished and professional, bringing the characters and even Amanda's dog, Chili, to life with personality and flair. Dane is the perfect book boyfriend—protective, caring, and irresistibly hot—while Amanda is witty and relatable. If you’re looking for a short and sweet romance with plenty of laughs, holiday spirit (even though its not set during the holidays), and a dash of mystery, "The Fake Wedding Project" is an adorable, entertaining read that won’t disappoint.

This fake relationship story is hilarious and witty, with the right amount of heart, making it a perfect, feel-good romantic comedy! Dane and Amanda are not happy to go home because of the long running feud between their families. They decide to pretend to be engaged, hoping it will protect them both, and they can quickly go back to their own lives. They know their families will object to their engagement, but maybe they might actually stop their hatred of each other, and finally get along. But it all backfires on them, when the whole town is excited the feud is ending and they are planning their immediate wedding. This story was so much fun with some hilariously awkward situations, and the running mystery on how the feud even started. I loved Dane and Amanda and loved how these opposites were so perfect for each other. Their grandparents were hilariously stubborn and the christmas themes and cheer was an absolute delight. Grant created a story with quirky and authentic characters and a captivating plot that made me smile, laugh out loud, swoon, and my heart soar!
Connor Crais and CJ Bloom were so perfectly cast to narrate this hilarious and heartwarming romance. They did a great job embodying these characters and setting the stage for all the fun, and passion to come. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expressions that I love to get lost in and made this story pure pleasure!

The audio of this was so fun! CJ bloom and Connor Crais did a great job. While this book doesn't scream Christmas it is a perfect Christmas read. Very Hallmark Holiday vibes, the town is called Tinsel. There is an INTENSE rivals family died that results in so many pranks even cake hijackings! These two decide the only way to fix their rivaling family drama is to get married.

This also has weirdest bonus epilogue I've ever listened to 😂

Coming home, Xmas-themed hometown, ending family feuds, fake engagement, rom-com, and hot spice.

This book was so great from the start. The setting was perfect; I loved seeing all the little quirks about their Christmas-themed hometown. The main characters had known each other growing up, so the history was there even if they hadn't seen each other lately; it was hilarious how they met again. Seeing them move from friends to figuring out that they wanted more was so sweet and spicy! This was an all-around classic rom-com spicy book that had all the characteristics that hit the right spots so that when you are done reading, you are fully satisfied. Heart, soul, laughter and hotness. I loved that neither of the main characters had to give up their dreams and they were able to make it work for them and even for others in their families.

This is a complete stand-alone and can be read without having read any other books by this author. But once you do, you will want to read all of them! (check her website for reading orders ; ) )

** I listened to the audio of this book and loved it. I think that the narrators did a fantastic job. I love the audio because I think that it helps to connect you to the characters even faster than when just reading the book. You get more heart out of it.

I really enjoyed this small town, fake engagement romance! The family feud in Tinsel has caused the younger generation to have problems! Dane and Amanda pretend to be engaged to stop the feud. Through their charade, they fall in love and learn the truth of the feud!

I loved all of the antics of the grandparents and the lazy pup, chili!

FUN! FUN! FUN! This is just what I needed and Pippa Grant certainly delivered it all to me with an amazing narration team! Tinsel is the kind of town I want to live in. Christmas all year round, with hot chocolate and even fake snow. But Amanda doesn't want to move back. She has been summoned to come back and take over her grandmother's bakery, and it's the last thing she wants. So what does she do? She makes up a lie, one so big, it will be a miracle if anyone believes her. Dane is the main character in her lie, the one man that if Amanda was to marry, her family would be up in arms. The two families have hated each other forever, and now with the chance of this possibly coming to an end with the "marriage", he goes along with the lie. But what happens next? History, high school crushes, a holiday in Tinsel and a family that needs to get with the program comes to a head in this fun, Hallmark with spice feeling story. I loved every minute of this one. It's a happy, heart warming story and is perfect for a weekend listen!

Narrated by Connor Crais and CJ Bloom, it could not have been a better listen. Crais pulls out that charismatic sound that I love. He makes each scene impossible not to fall in love with Dane! CJ Bloom plays the quirky dog walking Amanda. I love her spunk and passion, and Bloom gives her all the feels. This is a fabulous team and made the story fly by!

This is such a cute Hallmark-like rom-com that takes place in a holiday-themed town called Tinsel. Yes, there are two feuding families that bring about a Romeo & Juliet vibe but this is more of a fun small town, fake dating romance that has a family mystery woven throughout. There are fighting grandparents, a lazy dog, gingerbread & fruit cake hijinks and it wouldn't be a Pippa Grant book without some spice. Our MCs, Dane & Amanda, have a bit of an opposite attracts vibe going on which creates a fun dynamic.

Is this my favorite Pippa Grant book? No, but it's a fun read nonetheless. You're still going to chuckle at some of the antics, start to be invested in these characters, and cheer on for the inevitable HEA. And it comes just in time for this holiday season.

🎧 I listened to this one and the narration by Connor Crais & CJ Bloom is 10 out of 10, perfect. I love both these narrators and as always, they knock it out of the park. I definitely recommend listening to this one as, for me, it greatly enhanced the story.
