Making a Difference gave me hope for the future! These kids are rocking at life and making waves in the best ways. The only thing that could have made this book better was if it didn’t end. This book is inspiring for all ages (even grown ups!) and deserves to be in every school’s library.

Twelve kids - all changing the world for the better and inspiring those around them to do the same. Protecting the planet; helping animals; chasing dreams; using their talents to bring joy; educating others; making the world more accessible one step at a time; and helping others whenever possible. This book is filled with real-life superheroes whose dazzling futures are brightening the whole world.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series with eager anticipation.

YOUNG CHANGEMAKERS profiles twelve diverse young people who have made positive changes in our world in a variety of ways. Accompanied by illustrations, each brief profile includes background information about the person and the source for their changemaking idea, then describes the positive impact that has come about because of the plan. The profiles are well-organized and include ideas and tips for readers to use to take their own actionable steps towards change. From advocating for animals and implementing conservation efforts to supporting people in need, this nonfiction book highlighting the transformative actions of these young individuals provide both information and inspiration for young readers.

I love this book!! It was clear that the author carefully selected each and every organization/changemaker in this book, and there is definitely a lot of uniqueness here. Additionally, no two chapters were the same, and they weren't even similar. There was pretty much zero repetition in this book, which is always a plus. Another great thing about this book was the structure of every chapter. There was repetition there, but it worked! What I mean by this is that every chapter was laid out the same way, creating a clear pattern and theme for readers to latch onto and follow as they read. Speaking of structure, including advice, tips, and resources for readers to get involved in their own communities was such a clever idea, and increases the impact of this book. I have no doubt that this book will inspire so many readers and create a chain reaction of change in youth around the world. Bravo!!!
One tiny critique: In subsequent books from this series, I would like to see some more geographical diversity. In this book, most kids were from Texas or the US, with only two kids from other countries. This was fine for this one book, but should be changed slightly in other books.

This is the story of many young children (50 pages worth) who are making a difference in the world. From preventing child deaths in hot cars to recycling, this gives kids an idea of the small or large changes they can implement to make the world a better place for all.
