Allison Ashley has so quickly become a comfort author for me. I will read anything she writes, I will love it, and I will probably cry. One of the best aspects of her writing is how real her characters are. They feel like your friends, like actual well rounded people. I was of course fully rooting for Elliot and Jamie to get together but the story is written in a way that shows that they’re not perfect people. They’re perfect for each other, but their road to finding each other was full of mistakes and effort. And I loved them even more for it. I want to be Elliot. Jamie is perfect. And Hank is everythinggggg.

Allison Ashley always has real struggles in her books, so I highly recommend looking into it if there’s something you would struggle reading. In this case the FMC is in remission for leukemia after receiving a bone marrow transplant and the anxieties that come from worrying about the cancer coming back were beautifully handled. The MMC struggled with seeing the qualities of his distant father in himself and showed how he was working through those feelings of self doubt. But the author always handles these real life problems so well.

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for sending me this advanced copy in exchange for my thoughts!

Really loved this book and thought it tackled tough topics in a really excellent way. The MMC and FMC seemed to have great chemistry.

Rating: 4.5/5

I absolutely love Allison Ashley’s books and have been looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint!

The beginning meet cute was so well done and there was instant chemistry between Elliott and Jamie. The romance is full of tension and longing and second chances. I loved both of these characters and the challenges they faced.

This story was funny and serious and heartfelt. I felt the range of emotions and just never wanted to put it down. Another win in my book!

Content: fade to black, some strong language

Thanks to Montlake and Allison Ashley for the gifted copy of this book!

This is by far Allison's best book yet, and I've loved them all! This one just hit different. The first kiss is probably the best first kiss scene I've ever read in a book. The little twists, the angsty love triangle, the friend group, the anxiety of having leukemia that might come back, the SWEET LIL DOG... it was just perfect. You won't want to miss Jamie and Elliott. They are sweet as all get-out.

Allison Ashley is an immensely talented writer & her readers can not help but get sucked into her fantastic romance stories. If Tomorrow Never Comes is one of those amazing stories. How one night with one special person can have such an impact on your life. However, imagine if you met that person again, but they're now dating the individual who saved your life. That's Elliott & Jamie's story, with a bit more drama, some passion, & a whole lot of romantic swoon along the way.
Thank you, #NetGalley, as I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own, but do yourself a favor & read this story or any story written by the talented Allison Ashley.

“I think I love you more than books.” “You think?” “I do. I definitely do.” “That’s a lot of love.”

Honestly, it has taken me way too long to get around to writing a review for this book. I think I needed to sit with this one for a little bit because of how freaking perfect it was.

This book is the epitome of SOULMATES. This book had me in tears and kicking my feet with how much I adored this story. When a book is written with so much love and depth you can FEEL IT and you just want to be able to actually know these characters in real life. I will never stop applauding Allison Ashley for the masterful way she incorporates heavy topics into a romance. On top of that, she is easily one of the best closed door romance writers on the market with the way she makes the physical attraction and tension known without the inclusion of any explicit details.

This is one the best romances I’ve read this year and Allison Ashley is 100% of my new favorite authors.

I have a new favorite Allison Ashley book, and it’s this one!

Short Synopsis:
On Elliot’s last night before an aggressive cancer treatment begins, Elliot decides to go out and enjoy herself while she can. She ends up at a bar sitting next to Jamie - a guy who’s been stood up - and proceeds to go on the date he planned. The two have a perfect first date…that is until she disappears on him.

My Thoughts:
This book was so amazing. Literally romance perfection. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. Allison Ashley wrote such a beautiful story full of angst and love.

I adored these characters. They felt so real and their emotions just jumped off the page. The slow burn was the perfect amount of angst. It was joyful and heartfelt and just a lovely book.

I remember years ago Allison chatting with my book club and sharing the plot of this book. I had chills then when she talked about it over zoom. And I have been waiting for this book for over two years. 🤣 And I loved it just as much as I knew I would.

Allison Ashley is giving major Abby Jiminez vibes with this book, and I am here for it! I love how she infuses humor with heavier topics (like cancer in this instance) and her characters have great and undeniable chemistry. This one had the perfect amount of angst in my opinion and kept me a little on edge throughout to see how the different issues that came up would be resolved. My only complaint is that the main characters just coincidentally ran into each other a lot, which is a pet peeve of mine. Unless you are writing a small town romance, people just don’t happen to always be at the same place at the same time. But if you can look past that, this is a great read! 😉

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for the advance reader copy of If Tomorrow Never Comes by Allison Ashley.

Elliot meets Jamie the evening before her stem cell transplant for leukemia. Their meeting starts and ends with that one night but leaves the question as to whether they’ve met their soulmate. The following year, Elliot is in remission and gets to meet her donor, Carly. After meeting Carly she is reunited with Jamie, only to discover that Jamie is Carly’s boyfriend.

There are so many real aspects of life throughout this story and Allison Ashley does such a wonderful job with it. The premise drew me in from the beginning and the story kept me hooked. I didn’t want to put it down until I was done. I also thought dual POV was such a great choice for telling this story.

Definitely a premise that should attract fans of Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and fans of a second chances trope.

Wow, boy, did I love that!

I DEVOURED that book. Every last crumb. Jamie and Elliot’s relationship felt so smooth and so natural. The dilemmas they encountered felt so real and relatable. I loved the real life bumbles like when their knees would bump awkwardly or their teeth would collide in a kiss. It was just SO REAL.

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. 10/10 recommend.

If Tomorrow Never Comes was such a unique and well written story. I was fascinated by the premise and feel like it stands out in a sea of cookie cutter books.

Allison Ashley has done it again! Nobody does fade-to-black better than AA. All the steamy, swoony moments are sooooo good, you never feel like you're missing the spice.

The chemistry between Jamie and Elliott was palpable from the moment they met! Their impeccably executed instant connection was the foundation necessary to keep the reader rooting for them through the end. Love triangles can be hard, but this one felt so real. The angst was there without compromising the characters' likeability. The situation (ahem, love triangle) that Jamie and Elliott found themselves was hard to read, but felt so true to the story! I hurt for them as they tried to navigate their feelings while desperately trying not to hurt the people around them.

I really enjoyed this book! Well, done Allison!

I remember sitting with Allison as she told me she wanted to write a love triangle story but really do it justice. She absolutely accomplished her mission. Throwing in her expertise in oncology into the mix, and the result was perfection. Although still closed door romance, this seemed to have a little more "spice" than her other books, which I loved.

Allison, keep doing your thing. You're amazing.

Elliott Holland, facing leukaemia and uncertain about her future, has a magical evening with Jamie Sullivan, a man she never expects to see again. A year later, after a successful stem cell transplant and with her life on track, she’s stunned to meet Jamie once more—only to discover he’s now dating Carly, the woman who saved her life. As emotions stir and old feelings resurface, Elliott must navigate tough choices about love and life. This emotional story explores the beauty of unexpected connections and the courage to embrace life after loss.

I don't know how to be more clear when I say this, but if Allison Ashley writes it, I will DEVOUR it. The emotionality she brings to her stories, the slowburn, the fun, the characters--all of it is top-notch.

Elliott and Jaime are two of my new favorite characters.

Elliott meets Jamie the night before a potentially life-saving stem cell transplant. Elliott decides to live this night as if she was someone else, and randomly meets Jamie in a bar. She ends up on a whirlwind date but leaves without giving her real name or contact information. Over a year later, Elliott is doing well and sets up a meeting with her stem cell donor. Then she meets her donor's boyfriend - Jamie! This was a book I couldn't put down and read in one day. It is emotional and deals with heavy topics with care. The chemistry between Jamie and Elliott leaps off the page and brought me in right away. It hit all the right notes for me and I can't wait for others to fall in love with them, too.

3.5 ⭐️

This was a sweet read about Elliot and Jamie, who spend a night together and have an instant connection before Elliot disappears (to get a stem cell transplant for cancer). They run into each other a year later and Jamie ends up being her donor's boyfriend. I went into this thinking this going to be very angsty with lots of OW drama, but there wasn't much angst for the plot. Even the OW drama wasn't that bad. I did enjoy it, maybe I'll wind up rounding it up, but it may have been too sweet.

The night before her stem cell transfusion, Elliot decides to live it up, and meets Jamie. But at the end she walks away leaving him no way to contact her. One year later, to her shock she discovers her donor Carly is Jamie’s girlfriend.

Allison Ashley creates a thoughtful internal character drama where two characters wrestle with their heads and hearts as they fight their feelings, knowing they can't have each other. Jamie wrestles with not wanting to be like his cheating father and brother and throw his relationship away based on one night a year ago. Elliot can’t hurt the woman who gave her a second chance at life. Yet its clear these two are far better suited to each other.

I really enjoyed this and loved the supporting characters, such as Jamie's sister Blythe and Elliot's best friend. Elliot's cancer experience is also handled sensitively. I loved that Carly is also presented as a good person making the choices harder. I like that this book tackles thornier issues where the solution will always be someone getting hurt despite good intentions. However I this this would’ve been better as a novella as there was only so much internal debate that could sustain my attention. When some hurdles were cleared (and I really wish it was beccuse someone made a decision), then it started to lose momentum as it became repetitive (perhaps some of the plot developments could’ve been shuffled around?) waiting for (more decisions to be made to push everything forward). That said, I understand it because they didn’t want to hurt anyone which is the purpose of this story.

An emotional and thoughtful story featuring fantastic characters.

Thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC.

I was a fan of The Roommate Pact and Would You Rather so I was excited to read this book by Allison Ashley. Each of her books deal with illness in some way, but in a realistic way not a trite "sick-lit" way. This book reminds me a little of the movie Serendipity, Jamie and Elliot meet, fall for each other, and Elliot walks away because she is fighting a reoccurrence of leukemia. They reconnect through her bone marrow donor and their worlds are shook.

Elliot was such a likeable main character. She was so brave chosing to do hard things; to go after the life she wanted. Jamie was such a sweet, introspective, and caring guy. And who doesn't love a man with a dog. The secondary characters of Jamie's sister and Elliot best friend were super interesting as well. I love how many strong, successful, business owning women there were on this book! I loved how Elliot and Jamie talked theirfeelings and thoughts through, even the unflattering and uncomfortable ones. I love seeing people in healthy relationships that act like adults in romance.

I will keep reading Ashley's books. They all give the warm fuzzies while dealing realistically with health and health care issues. 3.75 stars. Thanks to Net Galley and Montlake for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
