The night before Elliott is set to undergo chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, she basks in one last hurrah, and ends up spending a perfect evening with a complete stranger.
A year later, Elliott finds the courage to meet with the donor of her bone marrow transplant, only to realize that the person who saved her life is now in a relationship with the same man that had such a lasting impact on her.
What happens when you get a second chance at life? When you cross paths with the one person you thought you’d never see again?
Can a few hours with a stranger really be enough to know that you’ve found your soulmate?
This right person, wrong time romance is written through the lens of a cancer survivor who, at the time, did not have the certainty of a future. It really puts into perspective how limited time is, and how we should trust in the moments that life throws us, even if they might feel too spontaneous or too good to be true.
I appreciated that this wasn’t just about Elliott’s struggles, and that we got to see Jamie navigate his worries in regard to feeling like he’d inherently follow in the footsteps of his dad and brother by cycling through women.
This romance was definitely on the sweeter side with less angst than you’d probably expect from it, but was still good nonetheless.
Jamie’s dog, Hank, was the highlight for me!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of If Tomorrow Never Comes by Allison Ashley. This book hit me right in the feels—it’s emotional, heartfelt, and impossible to put down. Ashley’s writing beautifully captures love, loss, and second chances, making me root for the characters from start to finish. The romance is tender and bittersweet, with just the right amount of angst to keep things interesting. Some moments felt a little predictable, but the emotional depth more than made up for it. If you love stories that make you laugh, cry, and think about life’s what-ifs, this one’s definitely worth picking up!

This one brought out so many emotions while reading and it's such a beautiful story. I loved Jamie and his swoony hero self, he just brought so much to this story!

I’ve enjoyed Would You Rather and The Roommate Pact by Allison Ashley, and I’m so happy to report that I enjoyed this one, too!
Elliott and Jamie spend one magical night together- meet cute at the bar, cooking class mayhem, hours of talking while leaning up against the wall of her hotel, and the most passionate kiss of their lives. When the sun comes up, Elliott is gone.
Neither forgets about the other over the next year.
Now, Elliott’s cancer is in remission, and she’s ready to take on the next season of her life. One of the things she wants to do is meet her stem cell donor.
Enter Carly. Lifesaver Carly.
And Carly’s boyfriend. Jamie. Her Jamie from the best night of her life.
So begins the tension and longing for the right person at the wrong time. Again.
Because of this particular role that Carly has played in Elliot‘s life, you fully understand why she wrestles so hard with her attraction to Jamie. And Jamie? He is terrified of becoming his father, who has struggled with commitment his whole life. As sad as it is to watch, it makes him one of the best, most loyal MMCs.
The way these two wrestled with the want of the other while trying to be honorable to other relationships was so well done.
Towards the end, Jamie felt cheesy, but I think he even knew this. When a character can acknowledge that, and we aren’t expected not to feel this way, I can get on board with some cheese.
Overall, very sweet, just the right amount of pining, and even with Elliott’s heavy storyline, it’s done without taxing your emotions making it a feel-good romance in my opinion!

This book was a pleasant surprise.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, as it was a quick read and a good time.

A beautiful love story about fate, living, and being true to oneself. I went into the story blind and so the twist was unexpected and I love the dramatic element it added. I had fun trying to guess how things would end up playing out. The ending was very satisfying. The entire romance of this novel is swoon worthy. This is one that I will think about for a long time to come. You're going to need a box of tissues nearby for this one.

I really enjoyed this book! I felt like we got to know both Jamie and Elliott well enough that I felt invested in the journey and hope they would get together in the end! I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more from the supporting characters, I felt like they could have added something more to the story. However, really I thought that the connection between Jamie and Elliott felt genuine and it was extremely easy to root for the both of them. I also loved the dogs especially Hank. They were a fantastic addition and really added something to the story. All in all, I would definitely recommend this book for anybody looking for a sweet, heartfelt romance where the two main characters feel like they were truly meant to be!
Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake, and Allison Ashley for providing me with this e-ARC!!

This was cute but took me forever to get through and I don’t really know why. I feel like I just needed more from it somehow??

A sweet love story about an unexpected meeting between two people - and unexpected complications. Elliot's determined to have one night feeling "normal" before her stem cell transplant, but she never expected Jamie. They spend one fun amazing evening together - but she disappears afterwards, wanting to save Jamie from the complications involved in dating something who's about to undergo that. One year later, she returns to the city and bumps into him....only to discover he's dating her formerly anonymous donor.
The story is sweet but the complications were cringy at times, and the story entered a weirdly boring lull after those complications were over. Also, it's clearly marketed as such, but readers should know that, of course, cancer is an ever-present character in this story - but some readers will find comfort in Elliot's extensive support system and how easy it is for Jamie to join that team.

I really enjoyed the messiness of the situation with Elliott, Jamie, and Carly, but it honestly could've had more drama. I think the characters reminded me too much of myself (acting like things don't affect me but they do), so it ended up being a little boring in my opinion. I really liked the concept of Elliott having one night to have fun and go a little crazy before she had a big, potentially life-changing procedure. I felt like that upped the stakes at the beginning of the book, but I was a little sad that the rest of the book didn't have the same energy.

I loved this book. I laughed. I swooned. I clutched my seat. I'll devour anything Allison Ashley writes.

I adore Allison Ashley and her books so much and could not wait to get my hands on her new release.
If Tomorrow Never Comes was everything I had hoped for and more. Elliot and Jamie’s angsty slow-burn story was full heart, humor, and although heavier topics, Ashley handled it all with absolute grace. I knew going in that it was a love triangle which is not usually my thing, but this… this was done to perfection. I truly enjoyed every single moment of this book and cannot wait for what is next from Allison.
What I loved;
✨ Second Chance
✨ Slow-Burn Romance
✨ Love Triangle
✨ LOL Banter
✨ Flirty Texts
✨ Leukemia Rep

If Tomorrow Never Comes was a really sweet and wholesome book by Alison Ashley.
Elliott spends her last night before her stem cell transplant out and meets Jamie - it's instalove, but she isn't sure what her future holds and ends up leaving him with her middle name and no way to get in touch with each other. A year later, their paths cross again but it's not as simple as they'd like it to be.
This book was sweet and romantic, but I didn't feel as attached to it as Alison Ashley's other books. It felt more surface level and a little repetitive, the big conflict of Carly really felt over the top and her reaction to Jamie and Elliott being together felt out of character with what we knew of Carly.
Thanks, NetGalley and Montlake Books, for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I.Could.Not.Put.This.Book.Down. It was that good. This new novel by Allison Ashley hooked me from the beginning with the deeply romantic and life-changing story about a woman, named Elliott who meets a charming and handsome man, named Jamie the night before a stem cell transplant to treat a recurring leukemia diagnosis. The chemistry between the two is off the charts, only for Elliott to disappear out of Jamie’s life, while she undergoes treatment.
A year later, Elliott’s health is in better shape, her design career is taking off and she is set to meet her donor, who happens to be the girlfriend of the man from that fateful night one year ago. The way the story navigates between the tug and pull of these two characters had me hooked from the very start. Order this book stat!

really enjoyed this book! you know you are invested in the story when you talk out loud to the characters!
a book of so many emotions it will make you dizzy, it’s a book you won’t want to put down as you want to know if there will be a happy ever after
a great read that will have you hooked

love this romance with elliot and jaime. she has cancer and is in remission and ends up seeing jaime one year later and by chance his girlfriend helped with the cells. they finally find love and figure out what they want in life.

This was such a beautiful and charming love story!
Elliott is about to undergo a stem cell transplant when she meets Jamie, who may well be her soul mate. She tries to forget him over her months of recovery, but still finds herself looking for him months later. When the pair do finally run into one another, Jamie has a girlfriend, and things are complicated.
The connection and spark between Elliott and Jamie is obvious from the start, and I thought Ashley did a great job dealing with a love triangle in a way that kept us liking all of the characters involved. They were almost overly concerned with the feelings of the third party involved, where I was ready to give them a shove to just get together already!
Ashley always does a fantastic job mixing a medical story into her romances, and this one was moving as usual!
Thank you to Montlake for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Second chance romance, fate, serendipity, Nebraska setting, cancer survivor + a dog!
A heartfelt romance that follows Elliott Holland, who shares a magical kiss with Jamie Sullivan before her stem cell transplant for leukemia. A year later, she's in remission and discovers Jamie is dating Carly - the woman whose stem cell donation saved her life. The novel deftly handles themes of fate, gratitude, and moral obligation without falling into melodrama. While the coincidental meeting stretches credibility (although cities in Nebraska are small), strong character development and genuine emotional stakes make this an engaging read about what we owe to those who save our lives.

What a beautifully written book!
Elliott meets Jamie the night before her stem cell transplant. Knowing she’ll never see him again she lives it up and has amazing chemistry with Jamie. A year later and Elliott is doing great and she meets her stem cell transplant’s boyfriend. Imagine her surprise when it turns out to be Jamie!
What a perfect love triangle story! The characters were great, the writing was supurb, and this was an overall feel ll good book! Allison Ashley is quickly becoming an auto buy author for me! I absolutely adored this book and know that you will too!

Prior to her stem cell transplant, Elliot meets Jamie, and it feels like fate. The night ends with a magical kiss & they don't hope to see each other again. A year later, Elliot meets Jamie, who is her stem cell donor. Then, in a twist of fate both blissful and unfair, she meets Carly’s boyfriend. It’s Jamie.
One thing for sure is that Ashley's books will always be emotional and heartfelt. This was no different. In a twisted sense, Elliot & Jamie's relationship progressed and it was interesting to see how everything else played out along with it.
I felt like both Elliot & Jamie were so down to earth and the sweetest people on earth. It took a lot of courage to be together when they were kinda involved in a messy situation but glad that everything worked out perfectly in the end. In all, it was a sweet, touching romance with a few emotional moments.
