Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free review copy of She’s a Lamb!

This was such a fast, fast-paced and surprising read! Didn’t know what to expect but really enjoyed it!

I loved the delusion of Jessamyn throughout this. She was slowly losing grip on her goal of being on Broadway and she would do anything get back on track. I found this to be very similar to Mona Awad's writing, I think that Miranda and Jessamyn would get along in a friendenemies way. Obsession is one of best traits and main character could have and boy was she obsessed. I didn't want to put this one down!

OMG THIS BOOK WAS INSANE SOOOOO GOOD!
I couldn't put this book down, I got the physical copy of the book and have been recommending it to my friends.

All About Eve meets Your Monster! Jessamyn is determined in all the wrong reasons and the way she's built everything up in her head is both scary and relatable.

She's a Lamb! was an entertaining read with a charismatic, funny lead in Jessamyn. Meredith's writing style pulled me in right away, delivering plenty of suspense, drama, and betrayal. While I enjoyed the story, it felt a bit disjointed at times, jumping from scene to scene without fully resolving some moments. Apart from Jessamyn, the children, and Rudy, the rest of the characters didn't stand out as much. Though the premise had promise, the abrupt ending left a few threads hanging, which was a bit disappointing. Still, it had some genuine laugh-out-loud moments, making it a fun, if imperfect, read.

She's a Lamb! was a very entertaining read. Jessamyn was really charismatic and funny.
I enjoyed Meredith's writing style. I was drawn in immediately and couldn't put it down.
It was full of suspense, drama, and betrayal.

While I liked the story, I found it a little disjointed at times, hopping from scene to scene quickly, without ending each scenario properly at times.
Apart from Jessamyn, the children, and Rudy, the rest of the characters weren't very likable.
There were some real laugh out loud moments and some others that made me cringe.

I loved the premise, but it didn't live up to its full potential for me.
The ending was abrupt and a little disappointing, especially with some things left unexplained.
Overall, it was still an enjoyable read, though.

3 stars from me.

Thanks to Netgalley, ECW Press, and Meredith Hambrock for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Turns out I adore unreliable female narrators spiraling deeper into madness. This one reminded me some of [book:Victorian Psycho|213395480], but with a huge heaping of extra delusions from our main character. Jessamyn is an intriguing case of the delusional + narcissistic main character because she is a woman, when most of this type of unreliable narrator are men. The way she paints some of the more tragic happenings in her life (i.e. being groomed, stalked, and SA'd) as totally in her control, and that she is not a victim is definitely very depressing. However, it was very interesting to see her mental gymnastics when it came to things that happened to her and when it came to things she did. The justifications for everything were craaaaazy.

The spiraling really picked up speed around 70% of the way through the book and it was awesome good payoff for all the buildup, but the ending was a little too abrupt to be satisfying. Even a few more pages could have fleshed it out in a more decisive way.

4.25 rounded up because I couldn't put this book down!

The way I neglected so much work this week to read this....
This is the way I wanted Victorian Psycho to be, and really, this is how these "delusional women right before they snap" books should be written. How the author managed to make one of the most entitled narcissists with the biggest delusions of self-grandeur sympathetic somehow is beyond me. I was eating up all the theater kid drama the MC kept inserting herself in and actively cringing at the lengths she'd go to become a star. There's a vulnerability in the cringe that I think is necessary to humanize these kinds of characters. Otherwise, why would I give a shit about what happens to them?
The grand finale of this one had the right amount of sprinkled in suspense and twists right before, culminating into a truly disturbing yet fitting ending. I had to see what happened! I even almost woke up early to read the last 15 pages I had left before work. That's how you know it's good.

"She's a Lamb!" was a very intruiging read. I was very engaged by the main character Jessamyn and her delusional interpretation of herself, her life and her surrounding. It was fun but it also hurt, so all in all a good mix with some plot twists and for me very entertaining. I would recommend.

She's a Lamb was absolutely unhinged, in the best way possible. Hilarious, chaotic, and completely off-the-wall, this book had me laughing out loud and fully along for the ride. It starts with a bang and only gets more insane from there, spiraling toward an explosive, unforgettable end.
Reading this felt like watching a dark comedy unfold on screen, I could totally see it being adapted into a movie someday. It gave me Motherthing (book) meets Pearl (movie, "please, l'm a star!") meets All's Well (book) vibes. The main character is so delusional, I never knew what was coming next, but I knew it would be unhinged and exciting (it was).

This book was a wild ride right up until the ending which let me down. Not many places for the story to go though. The writing embodies the lunacy of Jessamyn. At times uncomfortable to read, this is like being inside the main characters head. And what a messed up world that was.

She’s a Lamb is an edgy, irreverent novel that I enjoyed immensely. Packed to the brim with satire and with a protagonist that is the very definition of morally grey. This book follows our MC Jessamyn as she descends (not so) slowly into madness and all out delusions of grandeur, the depths she will sink to to achieve her dreams are wild. This book is also surprisingly deep, it highlights the problematic obsession with ‘magical thinking’ as well as how repressing our history can cause so many problems in our present. There is a fine line between confidence and delusion and Jessamyn St. Germaine crossed the line miles back.
Despite this it is almost impossible not to feel some empathy for her, she really is a villain that you want to root for. Overall this is a deliciously compelling read with both heart and dark humour. I highly recommend.

Thanks to ECW press and netgalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this remarkable book in exchange for an honest review.

I’m rounding this one up because I kept reading to find out what was going to happen. But it wasn’t the kind of book I enjoy. The main character, Jessamyn, is a terrible person. There is nothing to redeem her. So if you like reading gossip or social media posts about people behaving so badly that it’s impossible to relate to them because they are narcissists, then this one might be for you. I didn’t really enjoy it. Very sensationalist. I felt like it was trying to be Bunny but was just too plot driven.

Loveeee unreliable narrators, and this one was just that and more. Couldn't get enough of how out-of-touch and delusional the narrator was. So good! And so suspenseful!

I read this during an island-wide blackout, and somehow it amplified the chaos. This book is so wonderfully unhinged — like if Maeve Fly took a chill pill but kept the delusions and spirals. It’s messy, it’s dramatic, and it knows exactly what it’s doing. I was cringing, laughing, and whispering “oh no she didn’t” like I was watching someone self-destruct in real time — and loving every second of it.

4 stars because I couldn’t stop reading, and I’m still thinking about the main character like she’s my problematic friend who refuses to log off.

I couldn’t get into this at all so didn’t finish. I usually like a messy female main character but this one wasn’t for me.

This was a very thoughtful, engaging read about what it means to hold onto a dream amidst a maelstrom of chaos about you. I felt that some of the main character's personal, romantic relationships distracted a bit from the world of theater, which I felt was far more engaging. I was invested in her journey, and I thought the choice to have the play be "The Sound of Music" was an absolutely perfect juxtaposition against all of the frantic scenery outside the heart of the play going against Maria's mission.

While I kind of saw where this was going, I didn't predict it fully, and there was so much that aligned with "Sunset Boulevard," one of the all-time classic films of Hollywood - and that's a great compliment. Kudos to the author!

After several attempts I ended up DNFinf this book. The main character was very unlikeable and while that usually isn’t an issue for me. In this case I couldn’t get past it. I don’t hate this book and might give it another try in the future, but for now it didn’t work for me.

Unfortunately I couldn't finish this one, the narrator just was not for me in terms of tone! If you like that sort of highly unreliable, Bunny-esque voice though, you may enjoy!

Wow. This was “unlikeable delusional woman” final boss in the BEST way. I instantly detested Jessamyn, and yet I was following her on the edge of my set and genuinely laughing out loud. She’s A Lamb! is chaos and mania perfected, with a nice musical theater bow.
